Use your wings

July 25, 2025 | 25 comments

Oh, that I had wings like a dove; then I would fly away and rest!

~ Psalms 55:6, RSV

Would you like to “fly away and rest!”  If so, put on your “wings like a dove” today and leave all strife behind.

Seek spiritual mindedness that enables your thought to rise to heavenly heights where strife disappears and peace takes over.

You are not earthbound.  You are a spiritual being divinely designed to sing and soar with angels in heavenly places.

Put on your wings today and soar!  Find deep rest in the far reaches of Truth.

  1. Thank you️
I’m about to take flight at the airport ☺️
“On wings of Love”… me and mine and all….

  2. An old prison song goes “If I had the wings of an angel over these walls I would fly”. If we substitute “wings” with spiritual sense we rise over the so called walls of personal sense and gain the understanding presence of our existence as free and individuated spiritual manifestations of the image and likeness of God.

  3. “Use your wings!” I love this idea. Rise above material sense and soar to the spiritual idea of heaven. I can’t thank you enough for this message.

  4. Today’s message is very heavenly in spirit. Thank you! Mrs. Eddy’s poem/hymn comes
    to mind:

“Brood o’er us with Thy sheltering wing, ‘Neath which our spirits blend
Like brother birds, that soar and sing, And on the same branch bend.
The arrow that doth wound the dove Darts not from those who watch and love…
Thou to whose power our hope we give, Free us from human strife.
    Fed by Thy love divine we live, For Love alone is Life;
And life most sweet as heart to heart Speaks kindly when we meet and part.”

I love where Evan states, “You are not earthbound. You are a spiritual being
divinely designed to sing and soar with angels in heavenly places.” … To me,
that means leaving all mortal sense testimony out of the spiritual picture.

  5. THANKS for your Beautiful message today, dear Evan!!! It reminds me of a recent YouVersion Devotional which equated wings with FAITH. I AM SO GRATEFUL for these wings/FAITH which lift us into spiritual understanding and its healings DAILY!!!

    1. Hi, Soaring Dove, your assumed name for this family gathering, is very appropriate – I hope you are still soaring with the gentleness and peace of a dove.
and :illumed with Love”. We can all soar on these
angels wings. (There’s another hymn which relates – “On eagles wings”., which I am sure everyone knows and loves.)

Here are three verses of Mrs. Eddy’s lovely Hymn 253 which refers to “a white-winged angel throng of thoughts: – The Christ gives us these angel thoughts which enable us to soar above all the turmoil of “an angry sea: of materiality – into the heaven of heavens, where peace and love are enthroned forever.

:”O’er waiting harpstrings of the mind / There sweeps a strain, / Low, sad, and sweet, whose measures bind / The power of pain,
And wake a white-winged angel throng / Of thoughts, illumed / By faith, and breathed in raptured song, / With love perfumed.

Then His unveiled, sweet mercies show / Life’s burdens light. / I kiss the cross, and wake to know / A world more bright. …”

  6. The bees, the birds, the butterflies – all have such a freedom about them –
not limited by the down-pulling of materialism and limits. They flit amongst
the spirit of flight where they are not bogged down, like a caterpillar just
plodding along until it evolves into a butterfly with wings to fly .. They leave
the grounded beliefs of mortal sense progressing into the heights of Mind/Spirit
where peace takes them above what would try to hold them back from matter
    based restrictions.

    1. Thank you, Angel – these are lovely thoughts and
ideas. I love butterflies, and they are a good Lesson
for us, as you describe, as they transform from being earthbound into such beautiful creatures that leave all that holds them earthbound. We all have to eventually find ourselves released from being
earthbound, and rise above it all forever.

      1. Yes, Thank you, Maggie, for your kind words and truth about
butterflies. “Just when the caterpillar thought it was the end
of the world, it became a butterfly”. And butterflies have no
idea how beautiful they are and don’t show off, but are
spectacular the way they are. Just going about their lives
free and no longer grounded in the matter world, but able
to rise above it. They do give us such uplift of thought and
are very good lessons for us to learn from. Seeing one always
gives me such a wonderful feeling, especially the monarchs
which seems to be struggling these days, and are so special.

        1. I would love to see a monarch for real, as we don’t have them in the U.K., and I haven’t been fortunate enough to see them when visiting the U.S. They look wonderful in
          the pictures I have seen.

  7. I am reminded of hymn 64, words by Violet Hay:
“The way leads upward and its goal draws nearer,
Thought soars enraptured, fetterless and free;”
I often think of this when bogged down and particularly in respect of loved ones who are no longer with me humanly. I find the second line I have quoted to be beautiful, inspiring, uplifting.
Thank you Evan for your beautiful message and all SpiritView family.

  8. I plan to SOAR this weekend by expressing

    Strength | Omnipotence | Aspiration | Regeneration

  9. When I was a child I had a recurring nightmare of falling towards the ocean. There were big waves and it was black. I would wake up just before I hit feeling terrified. Finally one night when the dream of falling was going on again, a soft realization came to me. “You can fly.” I had not known I could, but I started to do so immediately. I stoped dropping and started to rise. What a relief and joy. This was the first time I had not woken up to stop the dream. When I got up to my “normal” height, I stopped flying, but started to fall again, this time the rate of decent was much faster. Very fast! I hastily started flying again and when I reached safe height, the thought came, “you can’t stop flying.” After that night the dream never came again.
I did not know what this whole thing meant as a child, but now that I have studied Christian Science I understand it better. It’s like what Evan talked about in his Tucson vlog this week. He would stop during the day whenever he needed to get his thought back into spirit mode. Whenever there is a pull to think in a finite material manner we can instead remember we can listen to God and let him fill thought with what is true and holy. We are incorporeal. We are made of God’s knowing and he takes great pleasure in knowing us. We have God’s wings. We can fly.

  10. That is a wonderful demonstration,, Kay, and
so helpful for this topic. Thank you so much for
    sharing it.
The awful things that try to assail us
in this so-called material world are as much of a
dream as you experienced, and we can do the
same, and fly up and out of its false aggressive
suggestions, just as you did, into the safety of
    God’s loving care ever-present.
