What would you do with more time?

Ever feel too busy to get everything done? Feel like you always need more time?

Here’s a link sent in by a reader to a thought-provoking article on one way to address the hurry-hurry life. It’s not about finding more time, but about rearranging priorities…

We have forgotten Sabbath

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy,” is one of the Ten Commandments.

In practice, millions identify the Sabbath with Saturday or Sunday of the week. But another way to view the Sabbath is as happening every day.

As recorded in Genesis 1, God made the heaven and earth in 6 days, and then rested on the 7th. We’re in the 7th day now. We don’t start over with day 1 again. It’s work is done and finished. So is day 2 and day 3…

We should be rejoicing and experiencing the completeness of God’s creation every single day of the week! And that requires remembrance of God in whatever we do, whenever we do it.

Success is not about time, but about priorities. Spiritual priorities bring the greatest success.

  1. I highly recommend Wayne’s book on the Sabbath. It is really wonderful. He has the same book under two different titles, or at least he had, so there is no need to get both.

There’s a lot more to Sabbath than at first meets the eye.

  2. It’s good that we can, follow Jesus’ injunction, “When thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door….” Mrs. Eddy tells us to “shut out sinful sense but let in Truth, Life, and Love.” Science and Health pp14-15. To me this is the Sabbath. We always have time and many opportunities to do this.
