When Politicians Clash

July 14, 2011 | 2 comments

What does a citizen do when the politicians of the land can’t get along?  It’s a scenario being played out in Washington D.C. now as Congress, the Senate and the President battle over deficit reducing measures.  No one seems to agree!  Each side has dug in its heels and refused to budge from its entrenched position.

I find hope in remembering that there is a higher power at work in Washington D.C. than the officials elected to work there.  God is the one Mind over all, and can bring humans into line with a divinely inspired plan that blesses participants on both sides of the debate.

With God, there are not opposite positions.  There are only workable solutions.
We don’t have to feel helpless back home.  There is always something productive and helpful we can do.  We can pray!
Our collective prayers can change thought in D.C. in a progressive way that allows officials to find common ground, work together as a team and formulate legislation that blesses everyone.
There is one Mind.  We all have this one Mind in common, even our elected representatives.  When there’s a picture of many human minds clashing, it’s time to know this truth better and demonstrate it more fully.
We can.  We shall!  Now is a good time.

  1. Definitely something we need to give more prayerful support to.
Thank you for knowing this and
helping us to know how to pray about this situation also.

  2. Thank you so much, Evan! I have so despaired over the politics in this country! I will certainly pray to know there is only the one Mind at work for the good of all. Also, this just came to me–I’ve been working on affirming ‘maturity’ for someone who sometimes seems to act very childishly and selfishly–which is what the politicians do, too. So I will also affirm that God’s children all express maturity, wisdom, good-will! Also, I have quit receiving those politically motivated ‘hate’ emails–I felt they had to stop someplace–might as well be with my ‘delete’ button! Now they don’t even come to me anymore–so grateful!
