When the enemy comes in like a flood

When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.

~ Isaiah 59:19, NKJV

Whether it’s the picture of a military invasion by one country of another, a disease taking over the body, or depression sweeping over the soul, the Spirit of God is present to reverse that aggression, neutralize its threat, and preserve safety, health, and joy.

Evil is not power. God, good is power! Let this truth be your guiding light, and it will keep you in the lifeboat of Truth that stays above the flood of error.

  1. – When we refuse to acknowledge any power but God, Spirit, we cannot be controlled by anything else. The problem is never another person, country, etc. but the lie of a mind apart from God.
    – As we yield entirely to the absolute authority of Love, we’ll inevitably feel the sweet release of getting out of God’s way and witness the healing power of Christ, the absolute awareness of Love’s presence.
    – Our duty & privilege is to keep thought aligned with what God is doing & thinking. Let’s continually & humbly pray with David, “Let my words & thoughts be pleasing to you, Lord, because you are my mighty rock and my protector.” (Ps. 19:14). Fear, anger, doubt, pain, disease aren’t pleasing to God…so have no place in our thinking – no place in anyone’s thinking. God has put his law of good in us (in all) and we are safe!

    1. ‘For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds…’

    2. J thanks for your clear response. So important to always see it is not a person but a lie about God’s precious creation which is pure good. As you said ” God has put his law of good in us”.

  2. Bible,
God will set up a standard, protection,
    destroy the enemy.
    The standard is Christ science

There is a Society and Reading Room
in Saint Petersburg, Russia, listed in the
    Journal
That is putting up a standard. Much
love to them for standing for Truth.

And all countries purring up the Christ standard.

    1. Thank you so much M for this posting about the Society and Reading Room in Russia!
God bless us all with peace and good-will!

  3. I love the idea of being kept in “the lifeboat of Truth” – We can put ourselves and all those innocent
children of God mentally into the ark, “the lifeboat of Truth”right out of the range of the empty threats assailing them. We can let God’s all-power and all-presence deal with the situation. His
all-presence and all-power leaves no room for any evil and cruel power to exist.
Staying with the Truth and letting the light of Truth and Love pour forth right where
there seems to be a destructive force, the darkness of this false power just
    disappears as powerless nothingness.

It also occurred to me that the suggestion to keep looking to see if things are
getting better is like looking at a physical problem to see if it is improving,
instead of knowing the Truth that everything is perfect right now.
We need to know the nothingness of the whole situation and stick with the
spiritual facts. But I suppose one needs to look now and again to address
any other specific claims that might rear their ugly heads and cast them out.
I am not sure what the right thing is to do in this case.

    1. Thanks for the good points you make about looking at the problem for progress ! Better to stick with being firm with knowing that the Divine Mind is always governing !❤️

    1. Thanks Tracie, yes your link to ‘The Christ and World Problems’ worked fine. Good article, written in 1951 during the time of the Korean War.

Here is one from the Sentinel published in 2014 (during the previous Russia-Ukraine conflict when Russia took over the Crimean peninsula), titled ‘A Russian Christian Scientist’s Thoughts on Ukraine’

Grateful to know we are all praying to see truth manifested.

Also grateful to receive SpiritView today. When it was not available this morning, I truly felt its absence and appreciated it all the more when it did arrive. Thank you Evan for the vital work you do in guiding our thoughts upward and stimulating wonderful comments, sharing and praying. May God continue to bless you and your loved ones. Love to all!

      1. Thank you Tracie & Rose for including these excellent articles. And Rose, I second your thoughts…also very grateful for Evan, and the Spirit View community.

  4. How beautiful and powerful a message! Thank you. I have had on occasion people describe me as depressed. It is a misunderstanding of my downtime where I am reloading my energy so to speak. And this lovely photo alongside the message perfectly describes the feeling of overcoming a negative misconception. It is not always possible to explain to someone because their thought may be far off on something else. But I am so thankful to Mary Baker Eddy for sharing her wonderful discovery of Christian Science. And I put her at the top of my list for Womens’ History Month beginning today. Thank you again.

  5. Thanks, Tracie, for the article by Friedrich Preller. He was a practitioner in Germany during World
War II. He was captured and put in a concentration camp. His story is really amazing. He was a poet and wrote the words to one of the hymns in our Hymnal. Unfortunately, I don’t recall which one.

  6. I would also like to thank you for this post, Evan, as well as for all the comments and prayers of everyone! … and thank you Tracie and Rose for the articles… I am also so touched by the response of JSH online to the situation, by publishing all the helpful articles and interviews (e.g. Sentinel watch of this week). Thank you !

  7. Thanks, Rose, for the article you’ve shared. It is very timely and applicable to the present situation.
Regardless of nationality, race or religion, we are all God’s children.

  8. I hope this link works,
I was intruiged by Lori’s comment that a poem by Friedrich Preller is now Hymn 476 in the new book.
Today’s SpiritView is so inspirational and I am so grateful for all the comments.
Most especially thank you to Evan for SpiritView and providing a forum for the sharing of such uplifting metaphysical thoughts.

  9. Thank you very much, Evan for this wonderful SpiritView. It is so helpful, like all your other SVs too!
The enemy which comes in like a flood could also be fear of any kind. And I am very grateful for Isaiah’s comforting words, that The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a Standard against it.
I am thankful for the asuring truth, that the Spirit of God is present to revers that aggression and preserve safty, health and joy! Wow and your last paragraph is so healing, thanks a lot dear Evan!♡

Thanks for the article from Friedrich Preller, dear Tracie. It works perfectly and is very helpful. ♡

  10. The article, “Target Out Of Range” comes to mind as I think and pray about the Ukraine..
Thank you all for your comments and Evan for
your SV, so very helpful when the world needs it most.

  11. Thank you So very much to each and every one of you all here from the west coast! I already plan to reread this and all the comments over multiple times today as still very early here, but so many good and healing ideas and articles to savor. It reminds me of the story of a CS prisoner who wrote CT on Wall to remind him to control thought. If we all do that and have one Mind then there is simply no place for evil outside of this one and Only Mind! Thanks also for reminder of Mrs Eddy in reference to Women’s History Month! Also, Jesus mother Mary is definitely worth remembering for her great love and humility and goodness that we are all so blessed by true motherly love expressed by Divine Loves creating Her perfect man in us all as God’s beloved children in one family

  12. Betty, there is at least one Russian language Science and Health in Ukraine. I sent it home with our exchange student from Ukraine 23 years ago or so. I don’t know that he valued it, but my prayer then was that it would find its way to someone who would.

  13. Thank you for these continuing insights and comments reminding us to keep our thoughts clear and open.
