You are never helpless

“If you don’t like how things are, change it! You’re not a tree.”

~ Jim Rohn

You’ve probably heard the old adage, “Don’t just stand there. Do something!”

We are never helpless in the face of untoward circumstances. Divine Mind always has a solution that we can listen for and act on.

As a child of God, each of us reflect Mind’s intelligence, wisdom and ability to see right happen.

Listen, watch and pray for God’s insight. It will inspire the direction you need.

  1. Yes surely we can never be helpless when God’s presence and power are with us every moment to guide and bless us and show us the way. “Love inspires, illumines, designates and leads the way”
Human effort is vain, but when we yield to God’s wisdom, certainly the right idea comes and bears much fruit. Several times in a confused situation, when I don’t understand what stand to take, I have surrendered to God’s will and guidance and then the right way has opened up for me. “Intercommunication is always between God and His idea man”. In God I find a good friend and comforter, who shows me the way.
Thanks Evan for taking us closer and more closer to God day by day, every day.

  2. Branching out is usually an inspiring and rewarding thing to do! And it’s not just a play on words- tracing out broadens our horizons, offers a new vision, presents a new perspective!!

  3. Boy do I need these comments today! I desperately need direction on an issue and am seeking Spiritual solutuons, which I know I will get from Divine Mind

  4. Joyce Kilmer 1886 – 1918

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth’s flowing breast;l

A tree that looks at God all day,
    And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear
    A nest of robins in her hair;

    Upon whose bosoms snow has lain;
    Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

    Friends,
When a small boy I lay on my couch for weeks waiting on God to heal.
Spent time looking at the trees outside of the window.

Still gives me great peace to view these magnificent statues of His creation. Giving beauty, structure, clean air, warmth, shade, erosion control, innumerable products. Evidence of God’s ever presence and substance! Just to name a very few!

Once, New Hampshire where Mrs. Eddy was born, was covered with two hundred foot tall forests and mountains. Her ancestors cleared the timber, and developed the land for agriculture. Her father Mark Baker farmed five hundred acres. Incredible strong pioneers!

Currently reading “The Life of Mary Baker Eddy” by Sybil Wilber. Intellect inside of this work makes me feel like a very feeble writer.

I’m very grateful to share with SpiritView. Thank you for the vision of tall magnificent trees! It inspires and brings back sweet memories.

      1. Thank you Evan, appreciated the reminder to not accept untoward circumstances but overcome them, do something about them by listening to, and acting on, God’s direction. Loved the poem shared by David.

  5. Speaking of trees, two beloved cats passed on in different ways shortly before i waa to take a big trip accross the U.S. Though I accept all Life is truly sporitual and eternal, the aggressive suggestions of loss and pain at first felt overwhelming. But very soon illumined thought admonished me to not use the camera i had packed until i first only used the camera of divine Mind mentioned in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Wow!!! The first thing i “photographed” was a tree. Understandings David just shared in that beautiful tree poem began to flood my consciousness. During the days of travel ahead, and even a few days after arriving at our destination, the spiritual views i began to see of my cats and many other ideaa were profound and replaced my sorrow with pure gratitude. When i began using my “human” camera again, i found such beauty to photograph and also behold with a much greater spiritual sense. I am so grateful Evan and Spiritual View sharers continouously offer so many divine views that bring light, jou, understanding and healing into my experience!!! THANK YOU ALL!!!

  6. Always loved
Joyce Kilmer poem.Trees right now are providing a deterrent to
Carbon dioxide and are relevant to climate control. Beauty and usefulness together are certainly God ‘s provision of agood.
    Thanks again for your foresight.

  7. So inspired by the love we all have for trees- which are spiritual ideas reflecting life, growth, strength, beauty! A harbor and a home for a world of creatures..Thank you for the poem! I have often gathered strength from watching and listening to the trees!

  8. Such a profoundly simple statement. Thank you for sharing it Evan.
Thank you everyone for all the beautiful thoughts on trees as well.

I too often look to the forest and trees for clarity.

Trees do what they do because they reflect/respond to the Mind Principle that governs their growth-their entire expression, life and activity. They don’t think about it, They just do it!

This then reminds me to be more like a tree, remembering I respond and express because of the one governing Principle, too-reflect and respond with our Mind or Love,

When the human belief that suggests that a fleshly brain holds so-called intelligence is given up what a huge step this makes in understanding ourselves as God’s offspring- naturally responding to our divine Principle, Love and Life.

Its funny really that because we don’t believe that a tree has a brain, we never expect a tree to be an independent thinker or creator. It just fits naturally into its environment and we accept this wholly.

Ah…to be more like a tree today, having only one Mind, growing and thriving in Love’s atmosphere-divine Science-and responding to all the good that is eternally present. (In Eddy’s book No and Yes on page 9:25 she writes “ Divinely defined, Science is the atmosphere of God;…” )

Thanks for all the sharing today. What a blessing.

    1. Wonderful assortment of thoughts today. Thanks Evan for posting the wonderful picture — so many spiritual comments came in this discussion — all of them valid

Looking at trees as spiritual ideas we are uplifted and inspired, while walking among them or just thinking of them. Thanks for the Joyce Kilmer poem posted by David. Many of us have inspired thoughts about trees.
We are rooted and grounded in God’s Love, The other part, Evan, is a wakeup shout,
that we are . Not immobilized with our “roots” in the “mud” or rocky ground– unable to get out of a Stuck situation! And thanks ALL for your thoughts!

  9. So interesting that within the quote above, “you are not a tree” has turned into so many Positive shares about trees.
Trees can be such symbols of Life, changeability in seasons, shade in heat, light and warmth in winter if leaves have fallen, color in fall, evergreen, roots in a strong foundation, bending and maintaining in storms, determination of years, harbingers of spring. This quote, although I think intending another meaning, like the stationary-ness of trees, really brought out with commenters and myself how trees can also be positive.

  10. Thanks to all concerning the importance of the trees that surround us today.

There was a very small man who applied for a job as lumberjack. He was asked to give references
He stated “well there was the Sarah Forest job”. Then the employer said “that’s the Sarah Desert”. The applicant responded “Yea, now it is!

I can’t imagine life in the wilderness of the desert or in barren lands, but oasis is there too.
Once in awhile the deserts gain rainfall and it’s a blossoming that is so very rare, plentiful and beautiful.

This site is blossoming with views important to share.
Thank you Even and this SpiritView family.

  11. Brains! Yes, we CSers have none, the joke goes.

    Good thing!

    GOD is Mind–the ONLY Mind!
    We are Mind’s wonderful ideas!
Whew! Fer a minute there I thought it was all up to me to figure it all out,…to “heal” myself. Good luck with that!!

    ONward!

    Thanks, dear SV Family.

    1. Interesting timing for me, as I have several different challenges that have not been resolved yet, including some injured or diseased trees in the yard! No one has been able to determine the cause of the trees dying so far, including a tree company. In the meantime I feel badly and don’t want to see them turning brown! Praying for an angel thought to correct this, and other challenges! Knowing Love never created any discord of any kind at all. Thanks for helpful thoughts and support for each other when it is greatly appreciated!

  12. Am back from a membership meeting. We had a lot of points to clear. This morning ì read SpiritView, and one passage specially called for my attention, I. e. ”Listen, watch and pray for God’s insight. It will inspire the direction you need.”
During the meeting I followed this passage and listened for inspirational thoughts, and they indeed inspired the direction I and my fellow members needed.
Am so very greatful for this healing meeting.
And utmost thankful and happy I am for your inspiring and healing SpiritView, dear Evan! And thank you all for your interesting and wonderful comments, dear SV-family!

  13. “In the order of Being in which the Principle is above what It reflects, all is one grand concord.” (S&H 240:10). How wonderful to know that our divinity is the only fact here, and we are living it right now.
