You are significant

There is no one who is insignificant in the purpose of God.

~ Alistair Begg

Significance to God is not measured by how much money one makes, how known they are, how many trophies carry their name, or how many likes they have on their Facebook page. The things of the world come and go, and always go, along with any temporal significance.

Significance with God is spiritual. It’s about what you mean to God and why you were created by God in the first place.

Like every piece has a place to be in a jigsaw puzzle, each of us has a place to occupy in God’s universal scheme of things. Every piece is needed to complete the puzzle. Every piece is significant!

You are significant!

  1. I was touched by the phrase, “It’s about what you mean to God…”. I do think about what God means to me, but I haven’t really heard it expressed this way to think about what we, as His dear children, mean to Him. A lovely and tender thing to ponder. Thank you Evan for an expanded perspective.

    1. Yes, Rose, and “why you were created by God in the first place” – each one of us has a purpose. Good to ponder what we were born to do! And then do it.
We are each of us a blessing.

    1. Wonderful article RH! Thank you for sharing! Love this;

“The belief that humility requires the suppression of our light is an error that not only deprives the world of the depth and awe-inspiring beauty of individual expression, but also of original solutions to the world’s very demanding problems. The outcome of yielding to this error would be mediocrity in all fields of endeavor and a widespread loss of self-respect and initiative. We are not equally mediocre as the offspring of Love! We are equally exceptional, each one reflecting divine glory in a unique way.”

      1. Thank you for sharing that in depth article on One ness!
The blog today reminded me a line from Mary Baker Eddy’s hymn on Love….”like brother birds that soar and sing and on the same branch bend…”. Each of God’s children are helping each other everywhere!

  2. This a beautiful thing to ponder first thing in the morning, keeping myself in tune with God, alone with God. I like the way you refer it to a jigsaw puzzle .and it is very true. How significant we are all to God.Thank you Evan.

  3. Think how loving our society would be in a practical way if we regarded all our neighbors in these ideas, in their true light! This includes that seemingly…difficult church member, the homeless drug addict, the unkind co-worker, the rude, aggressive driver on our daily commute, etc., etc.
I had a moment of honest self awareness last week when I realized my heart is (more often than I’d like to admit) hardened toward my neighbor, seeing them in the darkness of error. I don’t want to be errors advocate. or “at one with error for a time.” The beauty of this was the moment I recognized and admitted this, I felt a huge weight lifted off my mind and heart and body. I a saw a group of people I was ruminating about in their pure, true light of significantly needed perfectness. it was very freeing. What joy to not only read these beautiful blog posts, but actually put them into practice! We are blessed everyday with practical ways to live these truths.

  4. Thank u Trista and all. I don’t want to be errors advocate. That resonated with me. Holding to that.
Reminding ourselves, just what side we want to be on. This is needed more than ever. Speaking a kind word to a stranger has proven to be huge for the recipient. We are all facing something, so know that and respond in kindness always.

    1. I like this thought too. Running an errand over lunch, I noticed what appeared to a physical altercation going in a parking lot between a man & a teen girl. Another car was a few feet away keeping watch over them and talking to the agitated man until police arrived. It came to me – should I believe what I’m seeing, or am I being deceived…

  5. Thank you Evan for this great thought of man’s significance to His divine source. The article has come again to enhance a stronger view on how much God knows us, values us and loves us.

  6. in the realm of God, divine Love every child of God has it`s place and abundant room in divine Mind.
Every child of God is significant – such a wonderful respect to our divine brothers and sisters! No criticising of our neighbor, rather knowing he is significant.
Thank you Evan for this loving SpiritView today! 🙂
