You are unique and special

Have you ever felt like there was nothing special about you? That you were a common person with bland characteristics that caused you to blend into a vast crowd of humanity like a grain of sand sitting unnoted among billions of particles on a long winding beach?
If so, take heart! You aren’t as “common” as you think. You just need to take a closer look at the spectacular individuality God gave you in the first place.
Take a look at this posting on the web titled, “At the beach.” You’re in for a surprise. What appears to be common and of no note to the human eye, is much more when viewed closely.
When I viewed these pictures of sand grains in all their brilliant shapes, forms and colors, I was reminded that everything in God’s universe is unique and special, especially God’s children.
With the hustle bustle of life, peer pressure to conform, models in the media that encourage masses to copy the same, and widely held stereotypes we often accept and adopt without question, it can feel like we lose individuality at times. But this should not be so.
Each and every one of us is special. God made us special.
God did not make any duplicates, or copies. He made every son and daughter unique, with a niche to fill and a unique role to play in the universal scheme of things.
Don’t accept “blah” as a standard for your life.
You are not blah! You are dazzling, brilliant, intelligent, creative and stunning as God’s image.
Do you see yourself this way? If not, you should, and today is a good day to start.
Don’t let the mortal mind of this world sap your individuality and cause you to lose sight of the special gifts you have to offer. You are special, and need to live true to this reality.
Come out from the crowd of the materially boring and mundane and be yourself. Live true to your spiritual self, the individual of God’s creating, and let your uniqueness shine.

  1. There is another that shows how unique one is, and that’s DNA and FINGERPRINTS. Even though these examples doesn’t mention the spiritual uniqueness of each person, it does suggest each one is unique in character, personality and talent. So here you have both spiritual and material symbols of uniqueness. What could be finer?

  2. have you ever looked up at the stars on a moonless night at the top of chinook pass?thats when the question came to me:how many lightyears would you have to travel in the vast beautiful universe before you met another intelligent individual you could shake hands with and discuss how blessed we are to have such a loving god to give us such a gift of life I dont know about you but that thought makes me feel pretty special
