You have all of eternity to live

If you’re ever tempted to think you’ve missed out on opportunities for progress in the past, have watched life pass you by, or perhaps made too many mistakes you now regret, you can take heart in remembering that you have all of eternity to experience every possible good thing life has to offer.

Life is far more than what meets the eye on earth. Life is Spirit, in God, and it lasts forever. You have all of eternity to explore, experience and participate in every possible good event Life has to offer.

Life does not end after a few decades walking on terra firma. What a human experiences on earth is like a blip compared to what Life has to offer over the span of eternity.

For instance, consider the question, “What happened in your life on May 3, 1996, at 9:05 in the morning?” Would you remember? How significant was it? It probably felt significant at the time, but in the Big Picture of Life, it came and went rapidly, you left it behind and kept on moving. Compared to eternity, the whole experience of life on earth doesn’t even begin to compare in size to that moment. There is so much more!

You will never miss out on anything truly good. It’s fixed with God, a part of your Life with God, and is yours to experience at the perfect moment. Eternity ensures that truth!

So, let go of the past, and focus on the present. You live in the eternal now. All of God’s good is here and now to experience, live and enjoy.

You have not missed out on anything good. If anything, you’ve been getting ready for it. It’s spiritual, with God, and guaranteed to unfold at the perfect moment for you as you continue to live your eternal spiritual life with God.

“Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts” Science and Health, p. 261.

  1. Whats fulsome ideas!

That good is “fixed with God, a part of your Life with God, and is yours to experience at the perfect moment.” is such an awesome thought. It removes entirely the sting of regret from the human experience.

This piece is joy-inducing, peace-inducing, and gratitude-inducing! What a rousing gratitude I am experiencing. Thank you, Evan.

  2. Great SV Evan! Thank you! I especially like;
“All of God’s good is here and now to experience, live and enjoy.
You have not missed out on anything good. If anything, you’ve been getting ready for it.” So true! 🙂

  3. I have always loved this idea. It was shared with me decades ago by a sweet spiritual mentor. “Honey, just remember,” she would say as I was struggling with whatever was going on in my life at that moment, “we have all eternity to work out the problem of being.”

  4. I love this thought! Like in hymn 85. All Thy love we have for loving… no measurement to eternal love – just expression. As Buzz Lightyear says “To infinity, and beyond!”

    1. Thank you, Evan. MBE’s quote about holding thought steadfast… has comforted me many times. Forever Life to all!!!

  5. Thanks for this message today.

My favorite aunt just passed on (Mom’s sister). She is my closest female relative (Mom passed on two years ago). I’ve wanted to visit her for years, but it just never happened. Then I wanted to see her home at least, but that doesn’t seem likely either.

My teacher said our relationships continue on, they don’t end when one person passes on – I love that! It’s not like even death is an end. And thanks to Judi for “we have all of eternity!”

I find the line from Mrs. Eddy’s hymn “O Gentle Presence” helpful: “Oh, make me glad… for hope deferred” – we can’t be deprived of anything important! We may just have to wait – or figure out what really IS important.

  6. What is man, when we see his deeds cast against all of eternity, if that doesn’t make you humble preparing your heart for the infinite message of good, then you are asleep even if you think you are awake. This human experience is nothing but a dream begging each of us to see the reality given by God’s where only expressions of good can come. Great picture Evan and a wonderful post. Thank you all who posted their thoughts,

  7. Wow! Evan, thank you. This certainly can instantly change our perspective from limitation to eternity. I plan on sharing this with others! Much gratitude for all the inspiration you share daily.

  8. Thank you Josef for your excellent post. We have perfect and eternal trust and confidence in the Law of Divine Love.

  9. I just had a birthday–I think it was very wise of Mrs. Eddy to tell us not to mark our birthdays! 🙂 I spent too much time reflecting on what I haven’t done and all the things I think are failures. This post really helps remind me that I don’t have to be in a rush–God and I have all the time in the universe!

  10. thank you for once again widening my perspective, wider now and higher. to know that life is much more than this limited existence we were taught..

  11. Wow. What a great way to start this day and every day. Thank you Evan. Patty, your Buzz Lightyear quote put a smile on my face and reminded me of the grandkids running around and yelling ”To infinity and beyond!” Love SpiritView and all of you who share.

  12. I love this as I also recently “lost” a loved one not to death but feels very similar due to situation. It was quite suddenly so there was little time to prepare. The loss seems fairly hard at times and details painful and heartbreaking, but with Love at the helm, I’m able to move forward and at times have even felt some joy and small bits of progress in my thinking. Trusting Her completely with all involved and knowing that in infinity none can be lost or separated from the very Source of Life and Love! Thanks to all who shared.

  13. “Living in the eternal now”..such a powerful statement of Life and one echoed by many many spiritual teachers of all faiths and cultures throughout Earth “time” . How many times have I heard various people say “There is no death, only life continuing in different forms in your awareness” or slightly different words. BUT so true, so why do we feel so sad when someone we love leaves their body behind? We miss seeing them with our eyes, but we can still see them in our “mind’s eye” and in our hearts and this means no separation in truth. To always carry our love for that one who has moved on from this experience and to send them your love and thoughts, is to always keep them close. And once we can get past our own selfish need to have them HERE, we can be happy that they are progressing forward in their own wonderful discovery of Life as we cannot possibly imagine it. One time I was thinking about my brother (who at that time I still felt no separation from in consciousness) and I thought, “I wonder how long I will still feel your thoughts with me? ” And immediately I got this thought..”Well, how long do you keep looking back into your old photo albums? At some stage, you start taking new pictures!” I think this was a great answer!

  14. “All of good the past hath had,
Remains to make our own time glad

Amazing picture. Would like to visit that site.

  15. I love this so much. It reminds me of the saying: “Today is a gift – that’s why they call it the present.”
Again, as do many of these SVs, this brings out the expectation of good and good only. And that we need to fine-tune our vision to see this good now. Encouraging and delightful at the same time.

    1. I love these ideas so much and Idr never before thought of life as on ongoing experience with God at the helm. Thank you for this reminder Evan

  16. When I first started to read Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, I found out this Truth too and did not even realised God is leading me to understand what my life is all about (clueless), all I wanted to know is what God is; and was so happy that the definition of Life which is God is The expression of Infinity and Eternity. So I settled in gleefully enjoying my being in this Infinity and Eternity called Life.
