Today is Independence Day in the United States. A time when citizens celebrate their country’s declaration of independence in 1776 from foreign rule.
I like to go much higher though, than considering the national implications of this day. To the level of declaring my independence from mortality, from suffering, from disease, from fear, and from any type of mortal thinking that would dominate thought and keep me from feeling genuinely happy and healthy.
Every citizen on this earth has a divine right to experience the freedoms that come from being a child of God.
Mary Baker Eddy writes, “Citizens of the world, accept the “glorious liberty of the children of God,” and be free! This is your divine right” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 227).
Wherever you happen to live, you have a divine right to live under divine Mind’s government free of mortal mind’s attempt to govern. You have a divine right to be happy and healthy.
Sometimes, if we’re confused and unsure, it’s helpful to declare our rights. To establish our own Declaration of Independence from any type of oppressive thinking.
Today may be the perfect day to remember your divine rights and state them clearly.
Happy Independence Day!
Amen!
Happy Independence Day Evan! On the tennis court of Divine Love, you have won every point. You are a hybrid cocktail of the Williams’ sisters, Federer, Evert, Navratilova, Djokovic, King, and Nadal…The Lord is The Terminator of anything contrary to Good. Thank you, and we love you!
Thanks Jared. I liked “The Lord is the Terminator of anything contrary to Good.” Also enjoyed the tennis humor.
Happy Independence Day Evan and thank you!
“I love Thy way of freedom,Lord,…”
Oh such a wonderful hymn, thank you Nh!
Hi Evan, first I thank you very much for yesterday’s SpiritView. It’s so helpful to conquer fear! I applied the advice: “have no fear of evil. Love God instead and prove evil harmless.”
And thank you very very much for today’s SpiritView. It lets me understand my real independence in our Father-Mother God, being free of anything not coming from God, who cares for us and guides us!
We all love you for your healing and freeing inspirations via SpiritView ! Thank you Evan! ♡
I received a text this morning from a friend, it contained a Happy Independence Day message with a depiction of the Statue of Liberty with her arm and torch raised as a statement of freedom and welcome to those seeking freedom from many forms of oppression. When I saw this, the thought came to me that the true independence for all of us is the independence from error and the limitations and oppression of mortal beliefs. Then I opened SpiritView and happy to see Evan expressing that exact sentiment. We are free to embrace our true nature as God’s likeness, Happy Independence Day to All !!
Happy Independence Day to Evan and all.. I love starting the day with Spirit View. The message is always just right for what is needed that day. Pondering the messages shared here makes me grateful and inspired. Thank you again!
Thank you Evan. This is the perfect message for celebrating our independence! and our rights as citizens in the realm of God’s kingdom.
Thank you ever so much, Evan, for this brilliantly inspiring SpiritView. What a wonderful message to carry forward, not only today as we remember our nation’s independence, but every day as we recall our spiritual independence.

Thank you J for the links you shared today. Since it’s Friday and we have all weekend for reading and study, here’s an inspiring testimony showing how Christian Science works to reveal our true independence from whatever seems to be enslaving us.
The road to independence

Wow. Thank you for sharing this wonderful article. ♥️
Amen to that!
Thank you RobertH for the excellent links! Also, I didn’t get a chance to thank you for the amazing Jon Benson video on 7/1 “Immobility and Pain healed”. So good! 🙂
Declaring our independence from mortality! Thank you Evan and all – a
beautiful goal to strive for this independence day as is Every day. From the
article RobertH shared (Thank you), “I realized that I could throw off the
imprisoning thought that I had to be the image [of my grandmother] or
anybody but God. I could claim my independence … ” We Are all individuals
and any thoughts trying to make us fit into a box of being someone else, seems to
deplete us of our own individuality. Trying to be any “mortal” sets us back from being independent of mortality and our God-given spirituality.
I saw a wonderful comment today (not on a CS site), but thought it really brings
home about how we should not be “worshipping creation, but instead be worshipping
The Creator”. A very powerful and profound message I thought. That indeed, is following
the First Commandment.
