“My child, never forget the things I have taught you.

Store my commands in your heart.

If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying.”

~ Proverbs 3:1,2 NLT

  1. Thanks Evan for another great blog.

When I read this, it reminded me of Deuteronomy 30 v 10 to 20.

Verses 15 and 16 says: “See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; in that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgements, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee…”

Obedience to God’s word is better than sacrifice (or disobedience). Obedience brings peace, love, joy, gratitude and other attributes of God into one’s life whereas sacrifice can bring anxiety, fear, loss, guilt and so on.
