Someone was complaining to me that their future looked very bleak because of suffering income, high expenses and unpaid bills. All they could see on the horizon was financial doom and gloom.
I retorted, “Hey, God operates out of a position of surplus, not deficits. And you should too!”
Absolutely! How much money we don’t have in the bank today does not determine what we can accomplish tomorrow. It’s not money that creates success.
Success is listening to the one Mind for wise direction, intelligently following that guidance and watching God’s good multiply before our eyes.
No matter how bad last year was financially, it has nothing to do with how successful you are next month. Supply comes from God, and God has infinite resources to act upon, understand and utilize.
So, if you’re one to make New Year resolutions, resolve to cast out deficit thinking and replace it with surplus thinking.
God is your source. God knows no deficits. God is a surplus, an abundance of spiritual wealth, wisdom and intelligence to make the New Year a happy and progressive one.
Accept it and see it.
“Soul has infinite resources with which to bless mankind, and happiness would be more readily attained and would be more secure in our keeping, if sought in Soul.” Mary Baker Eddy
A wise friend once commented to me:
“Your usefulness is your supply. In your usefulness, your natural reflection of what you are as His likeness, you have, now, immediate supply of whatever is needed. Don’t see it? That is simply mental blindness and darkness trying to tempt you. Reject it! It is your divine right to do so, and is also
commanded, a divine requirement!”
oh
So, I did! I got busier seeing, understanding and reflecting Soul’s creativity, Life’s energy, Mind’s intelligence, Love’s kindness, Spirit’s activity, Principle’s order, Truth’s honesty.
And guess what? I’ve never felt really needy since!
Pretty wonderful Science, huh!
:<))
Good thoughts, thank you for sharing.
One of the most important insights we learn from the teachings of Christian Science is the infinite nature of God and of man in His image and likeness. As God’s reflection man reflects and embodies all that God is, not a portion of Him, but ALL of the good that God is. I love to think how God utilizes His good, He is not afraid to use it, because His good functions from an undiminished infinite standpoint. Remember the loaves and fishes? It never wears out, it is never used up, it remains complete, whole, undiminished. I find comfort knowing that I too can use the good I reflect knowing that it cannot be diminished either, but functions from an infinite standpoint. As the Bible states: ‘Son/daughter thou art ever with Me and ALL that I have IS thine….’ Thank you Evan for these reminders, they are very important. Happy New Year too….
