Here’s an interesting truth to ponder:
Those who love money will never have enough.
Why does a love of money leave one feeling like they never have enough? Is it because money is material, and anything material is not capable of bringing us genuine satisfaction and contentment, which are spiritual?
If you’re looking for real happiness, the kind that sticks and stays and satisfies, you’ll find it through spiritual mindedness.
Seek the wealth of spiritual understanding, and any sense of want and lack will vanish. You’ll find everything you need to be truly happy with God.
With God, you always “have enough.”
Wow, that opening quote makes me think how any addiction whether it’s food, fame, power, drugs, alcohol … anything “out there” is a sure sign of seeking harmony where it will never satisfy. Why not? Because anything with borders is finite and it starts draining the minute it’s obtained. Jesus said in relation to the necessities of this life … “Seek ye FIRST the Kingdom of God [conscious awareness of Spirit] and all these things WILL be ADDED unto you.”
My understanding is that as we de-magnetize objectivity, we come into alignment with subjective awareness of Life’s harmonies in every detail. Money is one of the details but always in subordination to Mind’s infinite Presence, and THAT never runs dry or spends Itself out of circulation. “The Kingdom of God [harmony] is within you…” it is not obtained from without, no matter how much of the world believes it is.
So what do we love? Good to ponder that.
Jesus’ key to happiness:
“… Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.” (Luke 10:27 Thou)
Love Life! Love to love, love to give, love to be honest and forgiving and generous. Love God’s beautiful creation, sparrows and lilies, wind and grain; celebrate children. Celebrate goodness, repentance, kindness, unselfishness, purity, innocence. Love to comfort and encourage, love to see God’s child right where “a sinning mortal man appears”, love to be God’s child, showered with the gifts of holiness.

I have done work on many large estates and have found that some of those
who had “so much”.. ( be it wealth, large houses, fame, material “things”)
seemed to be the unhappiest. Their large, opulent houses were more like
sterile museums than comfy-lived-in homes. I once had one customer
tell me she wished she was me and could live simply, be outside, enjoying
nature. This person who material-speaking had so much … was not happy.
Spiritual understanding of what is Really important in life Is the key to True
happiness and God provides us with this spiritual wealth of harmony, security,
a sense of belonging, peace, appreciation for what we have, love and kindness,
all Goodness. I find that being grateful for the simple things ~ those who care,
pets, flowers, deer, sunshine, rain, birds, butterflies, bees, etc. are not really
simple, but are of utmost treasures.

Thanks for sharing Carol. So interesting, as things sometimes aren’t how you imagine them to be. There is a gated community in my city with $1M+ homes. A friend’s company that provided services to this neighborhood frequently dealt with declined credit cards.
J I know what you mean. I’ve seen people who have all the obvious, outward trappings of material “wealth” but they are living on credit, overextended, getting deeper into debt because they believe it’s important to appear successful to others and trying to convince themselves that they are successful. That is a rocky path devoid of the true spiritual joys and riches of God.
From 1 Timothy 6:6-10
“6 Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. 7 After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. 8 So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. 9 But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
I avoid using the word “money.” When there is a need I know that God supplies every need. An example… I had a need. I refused to use the words “I need money” holding to the thought that God is my supply. I received a call from an insurance company saying my dad had taken out a policy when I was a baby. For many years they had tried to find me. I was sent a rather large check for the exact amount I needed. Supply not money!
Thank you GAnn, that is full of wisdom. It’s comforting to remember that God is supplying every need and not to think of the need in terms of money. I once heard this statement, “Money is God in manifestation as freedom from lack and limitation.”
It is said that money is the root of all evil. The actual verse is that it is the LOVE or obsession with money (and so-called “power”) that is the problem. Money itself is neutral and can be used in right or wrong ways, it is all in how we view it. It isn’t something to be worshipped, coveted, craved or sought after as a goal that will bring inner satisfaction, because it never will.

Mrs. Eddy saw it from the metaphysical standpoint. There exists an article by MBE about Money in which you defined Money as a useful spiritual idea. Once, when she needed urgently money she found the needed sum of 20 $ infront of her entrance door. And Jesus got the needed tax money out of a mouth of a fish.
I am very very grateful to Evan for today’s SpiritView. It is very needed to ponder this topic about Money in connection with our true wealth which comes from our God, only!! Yes, with God we have always enough and true happyness!♡
Thank you Evan and all. Thank you Gann. God is the money we have. Most times when one greets someone, and asks, how is life. The answer ranges from, I am managing, It is not easy, I don’t know whether I will survive, life is hard etc.
Those who lean on God will not give such answers. They know as a fact that God is in control of all. It’s such a beautiful thing to know that man needs nothing to be wealthy but God.
This was the first great healing that was established in my life.
During my first lecture I learnt that God is the money I have, that money is not pieces of papers. This has been so clear to me that I don’t waver at any time when I need to meet a need because the need is always, already met by God.
In Science and Health we read; Divine Love has met and always will meet every human need..
This is wealth, not money

.Material wealth doesn’t buy happiness, but
true happiness and gratitude for what we have that is beautiful and
enduring, unlocks all the treasures of Truth and Love, and unfolds
more and more from its divine source. I see that we are
spiritual millionaires.
I agree., money is supply and God meets every human need. If we are seeking the kingdom of God all these things shall be added unto you! “No good thing will He withhold from them who walk uprightly”. On the other hand, if you have ample supply, you shouldn’t fear using it for a good purpose. It’s right to be generous, keep things in good repair, support a good cause without fear.
This reading is a fulfillment of God’s promise to meet our every need.
Last night I panicked because the hospital wanted money. I called my CS practitioner. She reminded me that God meets our every need. And when I read Evan’s post and the replies, my soul jumped for joy! Of course, money is not the truth. God is.
There’s a wonderful book full of stories about prioritizing the values related to real wealth. “The Soul of Money” by Lynn Twist. She gives what she calls 3 toxic myths about it. Highly recommend!
I love that the old English meaning of the word wealth is well being and is not focused specifically on money. And we know that our well being is originated and maintained by God so true wealth is knowing and experiencing God.

Dear Evan, it is really very loving what you do to us all with your healing and comforting SpiritView Blog, causing such a richness of commentations which are very helpful and healing, too.
I have heard that the original Rockefeller spent the first half of his life amassing and hoarding money. Then he had a health crisis and his doctor told him money was to give away not to hoard. (no building better barns) He spent the second half of his life giving it away.
I wonder if I as a possessor of spiritual treasure,sometimes fail to spend it freely. This week I read the Christian Science lesson on Soul. The responsive reading eluded me and I prayed to know what I should think about it. In the news was the fires in Hawaii that were severe. I had just touched on it in prayer, but was not at peace until I listened to God to know how to really look at what God knew and what everyone in Hawaii could know about the situation. Only then did I suddenly see the healing message of Isaiah 42:10-12. I “spent” my spiritual wealth on “the isles, and the inhabitants thereof”. My spiritual wealth allowed me to “give glory unto the Lord and declare his praise in the islands.”
Very grateful for SpiritView and all the outpouring of love for it on Wednesday.
I, too, Kay, found the Responsive Reading pertinent in the mentioning of
the relevancy of the Hawaii wildfires. I had seen a video of a church that
“miraculously” (article’s word) was untouched and the 150 year old
banyan tree that spans two acres is also still standing. As one member of
the church had written, “May She be the beacon of hope … to help the
rest of the community”.
Our prayers of comfort and love towards those who seem to be affected
by these fires are indeed shared by those who care deeply for our fellow
persons and beings on our beloved home … in Spirit where nothing can
mar or scar or detract from the eternality of God’s goodness, despite what
would appear to be destruction, or lack or disharmony.
God’s paradise is always within us in an everlasting beauty ~ within the
Soul of Creation, where fires, earthquakes, tornadoes, drought, floods,
famine or anything that would detract from our or anyone’s God-given
Being, remains Perfect in thought .. in Mind.
