  1. Amen to that Evan, God good is behind us, above, below, all around us, through and through. We are not separated from the power and presence of God, though error would love us to believe so. The speaker on a recent Daily Lift said that we are an accurate representation of God. I loved that word accurate. It means correct in all details; exact; no deviation from the original.

  2. It’s always Love that makes the final difference..
When Jesus felt betrayed by all but a few friends, it was Love that made the difference..
When Mary Baker Eddy faced her darkest hours, it was Love that made the difference.
Only divine Love can reveal our immortality..
Is there a better Christmas gift?
Is there a better way to face a challenge than through Love divine..?

    1. Yes, thank you so much, John, for the statement that Love makes the final difference.

Love is the liberator; Love, is always the victor; no power can withstand
Divine Love. There is no power without Love. As Evan says, nothing is bigger or stronger than
knowing that we have the power of God behind us. What a wonderful thought. And we are
assured that we are the very expression of God, Divine Love. With that understanding and conviction, we can face down every challenge that confronts us fearlessly and with confidence.

So I am praying to be filled with that Love every moment so that I can never be taken off guard,
but rather be a blessing to my fellow man..
      .

  3. very inspiring Evan. The power of God is always behind you. Hymn no 461 always inspires me:
we cannot turn away from God
    because, whichever way we face,
Spirit is there. In every place, every direction, everywhere,
    Spirit is there.
Whether we turn to left or right, to North or South or east or west,
we meet with Love- and we are blessed.
    Upward or down, below, above,
    we meet with Love.——
This Hymn helped me a lot whenever I faced any problem. Thanks a lot Evan

  5. Thank you Evan for this blessed message ❣️ So timely. I am deeply grateful to wake up to this! And thank you everyone for your heartfelt contributions

  6. Thank you Himanshu, The hymn you cited is hymn 591. Yes, it is wonderful! By Peter J Henniker-Heaton.
It reminds me of a poem I have in my special quotes notebook but I don’t know its author. Maybe someone else might know?

I am the place where God shines through,
For He and I are one, not two.
He needs me where and as I am,
I need not fret, nor fear, nor plan.
If I will be relaxed and free,
He’ll carry out His Plan through me.
‘Tis God’s Supreme divine decree that
Only good can come to me.

    1. I’ve always loved this, but the final line is a new addition (to me) & a perfect conclusion ! ❤️
      Thank you ❤️
      Love

    2. I love that same poem, I also don’t know who wrote it, but at the end it says I can be relaxed and free, while He works out His plan for me.

  7. So Simple . . .

    By Jane Bartlett Walter

In a large city in Alabama in 1945, some of us “war widows” set up a canteen for officers in one of the city’s hotels. One afternoon a General came in for coffee, music, and perhaps a game of bridge. He was a big man — tall, greying, and full of confidence. The younger officers seemed to gravitate to him, as if drawn by a magnet, for his strength was most compelling.

After a while they drifted off to dance and I got a chance to speak with him. He had a wonderfully direct way of looking at you, an easy sense of humor, and a contagious chuckle. We discussed war, with all its horrors, its rigid discipline, and so on, and I asked him how he had come through it all and still kept his humor and wits about him. Almost shyly he took out a well-worn slip of paper from his uniform pocket and handed it to me. “This,” he said, “has pulled me through quite a few seemingly insurmountable problems.” I read the little poem — almost a prayer — and then reread it. This huge man, leader of many men, lived in war and in peace by these simple words:

I am the place where God shines through,
For He and I are one, not two.
He wants me where, and as I am,
I need not fret, nor fear, nor plan.
If I will be relaxed and free
He’ll carry out his work through me.
Now I could understand his clear, direct gaze, his confident bearing, and the magnetism the junior officers felt when he entered. I never saw the General again, but had I been fighting in a war I should have liked to have had him as my commanding officer.

Yes, a favorite. I sent this before, but since Jan asked, I’m resending.
May God shine through hearts worldwide, this season,
    and every day.

    1. I absolutely love this!!!
I volunteer for a group that sends out care packages for our troops overseas. I’m going to share this and see if we can include this in their packages.
I have this poem on my bulletin board.
Thank you M for this article!!
And thank you Evan for this incredible blog, You are amazing!
      Much love to all!

      1. That is a really lovely idea, dear Syl, to perhaps include M’s article/poem
in the packages and very thoughtful of you to volunteer for such a worthy
cause. I remember when my cousin was in Vietnam, I used to send letters
to him and he treasured them. I also sent cookies, which, when he Finally
received them, were actually just crumbs, LOL, but he so much appreciated
the “thought”. Most times those little “thought” gifts go a long way. Today I
patronized a friend through take-out, who works so hard in her restaurant
and gave her a little extra to put towards her children’s Christmas. Their
Dad had sadly been killed. It was just a small amount, but so nice
to see her smile. Just a little reflection of divine Love.

  8. Jan, I like your version.
Thanks for reminding us of the
important of being the, shine of God.
    Living that, shine.
Much love to Evan, SpiritView contributors,
    and all mankind.
I thought it was insteresting that the poem was
express during a period of war.

  9. Sorry to be back.
Sometimes I ask myself, Am I being the place where God shines through today?
If not, what can I do to be that place?
    We know the answer.
And with Evan’s guidance, it becomes clearer with
    each SpiritView.

  10. Thanks, Evan for this wonderful reminder. My mom shared this with me many times. So powerful and true:)

    Merry Christmas to all!

  11. “There is no pit so deep, that God’s love is not deeper still.”

From Corrie Ten Boom, author of the book, The Hiding Place, after she survived bretrayal and different concentration camps and the deaths of her family members, and then created a beautiful estate for teaching forgiveness and healing of former Nazi guards who had tortured and murdered and killed so many. Cory ten Boom. She spent decades, traveling the world, teaching forgiveness and faith in God’s infinite love.

Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God. Memories are the key not to the past, but to the future. Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow.”

And then what Christ has told me (Edie) , helping me through so many challenges, it’s not how bad he is, but how good I am, because of how infinitely good God is. It is not how hard or bad the situation out there, or in my body, but how much grateful faith and love I am trusting in God, and expressing. it is not what others do or think, but what God is doing and knowing and giving me to do and think.

And from a song, I briefly overheard when changing channels on the radio: “You saw broken beyond repair. I saw healing beyond belief.“

  12. What an abundance of inspiration, hymns, citations, poems, stories this morning!
Wow! What a great way to start the day! Thank you all! … I’d like to chime in with
    another hymn #178..
“Love is life’s true crown and glory, Love the splendor of the light,
    Truly is God’s counsel gentle, Truly all His ways are bright;
    Jesus knew the law of kindness, Healing mind and heart of blindness;
And in heavenly wisdom taught Holy works of love he wrought.
    Love, the Golden Rule of living, Showeth forth the perfect Mind;
    Love, our debt to God who gives it, All compassion is, and kind;
    Charity the law fulfilleth, Mid the nations rancor stilleth;
Loving hearts in friendship blend, One in Him, our heavenly Friend”.

Wherever today’s journey leads us, as with an eagle or dove, God is the
    wind beneath our wings.

  13. WOW!!
    Today is the Ultimate!!

SpiritView & SpiritViewers shine! You are “Shiners”

    THANK YOU for your Love
    Your sharing
    Your shining

    THANK YOU ALL!
    Love love love …….

  14. Thanks, J, for both of those articles – especially the first by Barbara Cook Spencer. I find everything she writes very helpful. Here is a
short declaration I make often: “I am the EXACT reflection of God’s
Perfection.” That doesn’t leave room for anything less.

    1. Thanks Lori, what a wonderful declaration which does say it ALL. Me too on Barbara Cook Spencer…I always find what she writes to be very thought-provoking.

  15. Thank you Evan for this wonderful opportunity to share and see such amazing perspectives on Love and all that is good to face all kinds of challenges. Thank you all for this feast of comments and articles and hymns and and and.

Thank you Jan and M for the poem. I had not known the last line either, but have known the poem forever. It is special to be reminded of it and to know of the article. The last time I was reminded of it was by my daughter so it has been passed on.

    Christmas blessings to all.

  16. Evan’s statement above made me think of this quote that is attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson, “What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” What lies within us is our true nature as the expression of God, directed and guided by Him. We are not the doer.

  17. Your statement about God’s protection brings to mind a poem written by Peter Henniker-Heaton. An excerpt says: “Whether we turn to left or right, to north or south or east or west, we meet with Love__ and we are blessed. Upward or down, below, above, we meet with Love.”

  18. Sue Pocklington has a beautiful album called Rest in His Love, which includes her WONDERFUL singing of “I Am the Place God Shines Through”!!!
Thank you Evan and cherished Spirit View family for all the healing ideas shared today!!!
