Man is incapable of sin, sickness, and death.
~ Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 475
Wow! What a revelation. God’s man, God’s creation, God’s men, women and children, is incapable of sin, disease, and death.
Eddy is not talking about a mortal here. She’s referring to an immortal. To God’s spiritual creation.
Jesus Christ proved this. He was the “perfect man,” a man totally faithful to God in all ways. And he overcame all sin, disease, and death. He conquered all of them, proving that God’s man is incapable of being victimized by this triad of error.
He left his example for us to follow. “Follow me,” he said.
As we follow his ideal for living true to God, we discover our individuality in Spirit as Jesus did, incapable of sin, disease or death.
What better time to learn this, than now! And to experience its healing benefits.
Thank you, Evan for this revelation.
Thank you! It is such a wonder to see, when we demonstrate and experience this Truth.
Another loving reminder to stick & stay with the truth of God’s totally spiritual creation, & man as God’s perfect REFLECTION of all the good God is! Thank you Mrs Eddy & Evan too!
Nearly two years into the walk of being a Christian Scientist and new awarenesses abound. Just recently I embraced that I am immortal. Goodness gracious, the concept is simply stated, and Jesus came to teach, demonstrate, and PROVE this immortality, and this truth has been liberating. Thank you, God for the guidance to see thinking based on human senses is hellish, and to be one with Divine Mind is the only position.
Yes yes yes!
Beautiful John.
Yes, liberating! Thank you John B.
Thank you Evan!
Endless prayer
Evan, Thanks for bringing up this topic today! There is no consciousness of disease!
Thank you Harmony , I will mention it in the testimony meeting.
Our prayers are not to make mortality better. Rather we love our immortality.. Then the Spirit is represented in us and not the flesh.
Thank you John for that reminder
Thank you, thank you for the reminder of loving our immortality! I have been working with that all day.
How joyous to be taking in the immortality of spiritual creation, as this
family above beams, free from any dis ease. Their happy faces and just
being .. being part of the inclusion of divine Love is such a beautiful
expression of Mrs. Eddy’s … God’s spiritual creation. Oh, to be like them,
just enjoying a walkway through life/Life, being in the Now, not fretting
about anything that mortal thinking tries to throw at us.
Well said Carol, “enjoying a walkway through Life…in the Now, not fretting about anything that mortal thinking tries to throw at us.” The ‘tries’ is key, because error may try to tantalize us, but without our consent it can’t get very far, and falls away into its no-thingness. And we don’t consent, because we KNOW our divine rights as God’s own expression.
And thank you to John B and John Q for sharing wisdom. And Love and blessings to Evan and each one of you, and to me! We can bless ourselves too, in the name of God.
Thank you, Rose. It is so easy to be swayed by the
what-if’s .. or is this right, or that? what am I supposed to do?
mortal mind’s thinking is so conniving and does “try” to have
us question everything through a mortal lens. But as you so
correctly stated, the “key” is not giving erroneous thinking
our consent, but to follow through with the spiritual way of
KNOWING our divine rights as God’s expression. Lovely!!
Challenges come and go in our thinking and we are continually having to protect and prevent by Jesus’ example but the wonderful thing about being a follower of the master is that we understand that no matter what the physical senses seem to suggest to one’s thinking it does not make it true. Our true existence , health and harmony has its source in God alone There is no place for these suggestive lies to come from or lodge in our thinking. As Paul told us Cease from your imaginings. Like non existent water on the road, it only exists while you entertain the notion that it exists.
As Evan points out. We are incapable of anything that has no source in God.
Yes, Truus! Man is the manifestation. It is incapable of sin, sickness and death because man is God’s manifestation, Principle’s manifestation, Mind’s inspired thought and idea. Manifestation alone cannot think or create anything. Manifestation can only show forth what the source is. Manifestation is a reflection of all that God is, the harmonious goodness of Mind. There is no other mind to imagine, no other principle to claim to be man’s source of being. Therefore, no mortal -illusion of a false or limited manifestation. Just as Mary Baker Eddy writes in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, “Divine metaphysics, as revealed to spiritual understanding, shows clearly that all is Mind, and that Mind is God, omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience, — that is, all power, all presence, all Science. Hence all is in reality the manifestation of Mind.”(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 275:20)
I like to see it as “Man incapable of dis—ease,” meaning any lack of ease is not possible for God’s expressions. Only Ease and Peace and Comfort.
The PERFECT man is
Pure | Exuberant | Reliable | Faithful | Empathic | Consecrated | Tolerant
Yes, Rose, I like to think of disease as dis ease, also … having no power.
Meaning we are in the Ease of God’s creation, so therefore incapable of
anything not expressing such loving qualities.
Thank you Evan and everyone for this message of truth.
“No man knoweth the Son, but the Father” (Matthew 11:27). How can we be anything but His expression ❣️
