  1. Thank you Evan for the great posts on July 9 & 13!
And thank you Cheryl for the 2 excellent articles that really touched me and J for the one on July 10.

  2. Very helpful advice and so comforting to know that our generous God will always know the answers to our questions.
It’s funny, though. I love Christian Science. I study it, I think about it, I live it, I try to demonstrate it – it’s so important to me, and yet….if someone who has not heard of it or knows very little about it, asks me the question What is ChristianScience?, I struggle to put the words together to give an answer – it’s such a huge new concept to impart. I don’t know where to begin. Anyone else find this? I would be very interested in knowing how others answer the question.

      1. Thank you, Evan! And thank you, Robert H, for linking the previous SpiritView post from 2011. It was GREAT! ❤️ As Joanna said, CS is such a huge concept, how does one begin to impart? Now, after reading the link you provided, I am more confident to explain, if asked! Thank you.

    1. It’s so funny Joanna…..rarely do I have an opportunity to explain CS to anyone not familiar with it, but I did last week. I met a man on a dating site and I was pretty excited about meeting him. Then 2 days before our date he asked me what my beliefs were regarding God, Jesus, the Christ …..and my heart sank. How on earth can I explain this without him bailing on me. (there are so many misconceptions about CS). I could’ve easily given him some generic answers but decided to lean into CS….and proceeded to tell him about Mrs. Eddy, metaphysics, her explanation of God (the 7 synonyms), our relationship to him/her, our view of man and this human experience with the result being healing. I even told him I understood if it was too much for him……but that my beliefs were non negotiable. Don’t even try to change my mind! 🙂 We ended up meeting and continued our great conversation. I realized we were a lot more alike than different. He believes in healing, in God as Father/Mother and that we are made in his image and likeness, among other things.
Not a love match but it was a good experience for me. ❣️

      1. Thank you for your comment Patty and for being willing to “lean in” to explaining your love of CS to your new friend. Your comment made me think of these sentences from S&H:

Millions of unprejudiced minds — simple seekers for Truth, weary wanderers, athirst in the desert — are waiting and watching for rest and drink. Give them a cup of cold water in Christ’s name, and never fear the consequences.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 570:14–18)

  3. This has not come into my inbox today yet – I am wondering if others have not
received it either and that is the reason it is slow getting off the ground..

Joanna, It think it depends on who has asked the question. When Jesus
was asked questions he always turned to His Father-Mother God for an
answer in different circumstances, and he got the right answer from God.
Also, people like to hear of our own experiences that have come from our
own understanding of C.S. from where we are. People like to hear personal
experiences that have helped us- healings, or the working out ot any problems
through the understanding we have gained. love,
    Maggie

    1. P.S. As Evan has quoted from James: “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you.” That is wisdom for answering the question – the wisdom to reply in a way that the
person asking can understand and relate to.

  4. Oh dear Evan, you’ve done it again! Moments before I opened SpiritView this morning, I was wondering how in the world I could figure something out, something that seemed to be overwhelming. And there it is: “just ask!“ Yes, once again, SpiritView has come to my rescue and all the beautiful subsequent contributions from my dear SpiritViewers. The big question I was pondering? Instantly resolved!
    For God is All-all!
I really appreciate the link to the 2011 SpiritView answering the question “what is Christian Science?“ I’m fairly open about sharing ideas I’m learning in Christian Science -my own language, to fit the conversation appropriately
Thank you, thank you Evan. Thank you my unseen friends, who I know and love.

  5. It didn’t come to my inbox either, but what a great reminder that if what we need doesn’t appear in the usual way, just listen and Mind will reveal how we can access what IS ALREADY available!

And huge THANKS Evan and Spirit View family for your love AND ALL the VERY GOOD you continue to live AND SHARE!!!!

  6. Thanks Evan sir for sharing wonderful Truths as daily one spiritual idea helps to connect with God..

  7. Just wanted to add to the conversation that I signed up for the SpiritView app when it became available a while back, and it is a reliable option to receive the daily posts, whether it appears in email or not. There is no charge for the app and it provides immediate access!

  8. Cheryl,
Thanks for this!, for the longest time I received SV, then it stopped, sad to say I lost track of it….im trying to get back in and it hasn’t worked! I’ll try the app.

    1. Hi Betsy…If you’re using a browser on your phone, you can scroll down and there is an input box in which you can type your email address and click SUBSCRIBE. If you’re on a desktop/laptop, the same input box and SUBSCRIBE button may be on the right of the page. You may have to scroll up and down looking to the right to see it.

    2. Hi Betsy! When I open SpiritView via email on my phone, it opens with a big red bar at the top of the screen that says “Welcome to SpiritView” and it provides an “Install” button. Does that happen for you? I don’t believe the app is available through an app store. I haven’t tried opening SpiritView on my computer’s email, but possibly the same “Install” feature is available??

  9. Here’s an ask. I was new to CS and having lunch with former co-workers. We hadn’t seen each other for awhile, and the conversation turned to health problems. Everyone took their turn and I became uncomfortable. Not to be left out, the last one blurted, “Well, I have a disease too!!” I felt the urge to leave the table, but had also read in Science and Health not to enter into an impure atmosphere unless in an attempt to change it. I asked God what to do. Leave? Heal all these people? I was stumped and starting to get fearful. Then I heard the still small voice of God say, “The mental atmosphere is mine. I am the one that protects everyone here.” Suddenly, instead of feeling like I was separate from these people, all of whom I was fond of, I felt we were all on the same side. The imposition was on them as much as me. I felt relieved. We were united by God and He would direct our thinking. Suddenly, the host said, “enough of this hospital talk—what’s been going on that’s good?” Everyone brightened up.

  10. I don’t know why but this didn’t come to my inbox today either.

But, thank you everyone and Evan for all the wonderful posts. I look forward to them everyday.
