It’s a rule to live by. Overcome evil with good!
As the apostle Paul instructs, “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21).
No exceptions!
By “good,” Paul is talking about the power and presence of God. As Christian Science explains, God is good.
God’s good is omnipotent. It is the light of Truth that dispels the darkness of mortal mind. It is the solvent of Love that dissolves hatred and anger. It is the beauty of Soul that displaces the ugliness of mortal belief.
You can always depend upon the goodness of God to destroy any sense of evil. Evil cannot stand in the presence of God’s goodness anymore than darkness can withstand the brightness of light.
Have no fear of evil. It is fraud, a lie and a liar.
Evil claims to have power, but it possesses none. It boasts loudly but has nothing of God to back it up. It is doomed to destruction, for it cannot abide in the omnipresence and omnipotence of God.
Don’t submit to evil or cater to it. Overcome it. Conquer it. Defeat it. With good. With God’s good!
Overcome evil with good. It’s a rule to live by.

Years ago a practitioner helped me demonstrate that “good is the only reality”! That’s what she told me to cling to in a very brief phone call – because I was overseas and had lost my wallet with my passport inside! Everything worked together for good. I had a happy rest of my trip with my tour group. When I got home I got a call from the American Embassy that my wallet and passport had been recovered and they were mailing it back to me. I was elated and SO grateful and really FELT how Good God is!’
I loved listening to Mrs. Ingwerson’s talk on the 23rd Psalm yesterday. (Thank you Rose and Patty for sharing it!) I’m trying to be more “sheepish.” I trust and expect that God’s “GOODNESS and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in [‘the consciousness of Love’] forever.”
