The benefits of loving God

How important is God to you?

Many think they can go through life without God.  Many believe in God but don’t think about God very much.  And there are some who love God with their whole heart and think about God most of the time.

Whatever level of importance God has to you, I can say with confidence that there are only upsides to loving and knowing God.

To know God is to know love.  To know God is to find comfort and peace that sticks and stays.  To know God is to cultivate a healthy state of mind that reflects the divine Mind, and in turn, brings better health to the body.  There are huge benefits to loving and knowing God.

The apostle Paul in the Bible makes a valid point when he writes, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).  This truth has certainly been confirmed in my life.  There are no downsides to knowing and loving God.  Only positive effects.

Everything works together better for good when one lets a love of God lead the way.

  1. Thank you Evan. From “A Treatment For Every Day” by Mary Baker Eddy in the Christian Science Journal 1983. “God is my strength, God is my life, God is my health, God is my
    understanding” God bless All.

      1. I just found this article yesterday. and it is titled Every Day Treatment and was in
a CS Journal 1883. I searched for it, but there seems to be none earlier than
1886. Perhaps someone elsd knows how to find it – or maybe it has been
removed as they may have discovered that it was not written by MBE.

  2. I once read in a CS Sentinel article “God is infinite, all powerful, ever-present love right here with us, closer than the air we breathe” I love this statement and reflect on it often.
Thank you, Evan for the podcast yesterday. I strive to listen and quieten the distractions. Your podcast is very helpful.

  3. I just looked up Mrs. Eddy’s definition of God in Science and Health. She
writes, ” God is incorporeal, divine, supreme, infinite, Mind, Spirit, Soul,
Principle, Life, Truth, Love… [They] refer to one absolute God. They are
also intended to express the nature, essence and wholeness of Deity.
The attributes of God are justice, mercy, wisdom, goodness, and so on”
(page 465). I think we all have our own interpretations of what God is
to us individually, but I found this definition helpful, as the above message.
    Thank you, Evan.

  4. Thank you Evan. My pathway to loving God is to acknowledge and thank Him when I see, hear, experience good, i.e., tracing the good to its Source. “Thank you, Gid. I love you.”
