In every financial situation you enter, always look for the supply.
The supply that is going to meet the need may not always be readily apparent. You might be staring at a pile of bills with no money to pay them, or a looming debt that needs to be paid and no income to pay it. But whatever the situation, there is a spiritual solution that can turn it around, dissolve the lack and demonstrate supply.
God is your Supplier, Provider and Benefactor. All the good you could ever possibly receive comes directly from God, and is designed to bless you and keep you moving in a progressive direction triumphing over lack and demonstrating supply.
Jesus Christ never lacked. He always had what he needed when he needed it. He didn’t save up any money, but he always had supply. Why? Because he understood supply to be ideas and inspiration coming from God. He would listen, hear, and then demonstrate supply according to the need of the moment. His feeding of the multitudes is a classic example. There was enough for everyone, even though that fact was not apparent before the fishes and loaves multiplied.
You too always have enough coming from God. But it’s important to stay prayerfully tuned into the abundance of God so that you are receptive to it when it comes your way.
If one gets mesmerized by lack, getting all caught up with dizzying fears and worries, thought is not listening to God. It’s dominated by error. But you can make a conscious choice to stay out of a negative frame of mind. You can consciously turn from indulging any picture of lack to taking in the abundance of divine Mind and thus see the supply that is going to meet your need. God has an answer and is sending it your way.
Focus on supply, not lack, and see the solution that meets your need.
“God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you’re ready for anything and everything, more than just ready to do what needs to be done.” II Cor. 9:8, The Message
Evan your inspiration today, reminds me of what Mrs. Eddy writes in “Angels” (miscellaneous writings) Quote: God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies. Never ask for tomorrow: it is enough that divine Love is an ever-present help; and if you wait, never doubting, you will have all you need every moment. What a glorious inheritance is given to us through the understanding of omnipresent Love! More we cannot ask: more we do not want: more we cannot have. This sweet assurance is the “Peace, be still” to all human fears, to suffering of every sort. Unquote
As you rightly mention Evan, if we stay prayerfully tuned into the abundance of God, He will certainly turn around the situation and where there was lack, plenty will appear, as it happened on the sea of Galilee with the loaves and fishes. We need to have that Christ like trust in the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-loving, all-wise God, which enables us to give gratitude even before the good appears.
Sincere gratitude to Evan for bringing God closer to us each day.
Amen! Thanks Evan & Nergish. I feel that regardless of my financial situation God has always met my needs. I am often overwhelmed by God’s grace in my life. Gratitude is riches, poverty is complaint. My good comes from God and it is always 100% good. Thank you God!
Thank you for this message Evan. My husband and I struggled financially the first few years of our marriage. No matter how hard we worked or how many jobs we held there just never was enough money to meet our expenses. We cut back more and more on spending as we attempted to live more frugally but to no avail. And then one day in prayer I heard the word, “Enough!” I heard it in two ways. First as a rebuke, like when a parent reprimanding a complaining child says, “OK enough already!” But I also heard it as a very gentle comforting message from God saying, “You have more than enough.” Along with this came a passage from Science and Health where Mrs. Eddy writes, “The depth, breadth, height, might, majesty and glory of infinite Love fill all space. That is enough!” I caught a glimpse of the fact that divine Love, God was present and completely available to us and that Love itself was all we ever needed. I shared this with my husband and we both accepted this as divine law operating in our lives. The fear of insufficiency disappeared and so did the money woes and we never faced that problem again. I’m so grateful to be reminded of this wonderful healing and for your daily inspiration.
Great story! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Evan, and everyone for your inspirational words. I needed to hear them today! I, too, have seen over many years beautiful demonstrations of supply in ways that I could never have imagined. I’ve learned our supply doesn’t come from people, investments, government or jobs—and that we have to correct our thought immediately when we think it does come from those places. The only source is God and He supplies us with everything we need. He gives us direction to do the right thing at the right time. He is the only Mind, and when we still mortal mind’s clamor and fear we can hear Him. Thanks again!
I appreciated all of the comments. I might add to Nergish’s quote from Mary Baker Eddy that the most important two words (to me) are “without doubting.”
Correction: it should have been “never doubting.”
Hi Evan,
Thanks for this great reminder of the oft misunderstood “sinner repent”!! It occurred to me that I often find my perception of a problem (and lack being a form of problem) is linked to my acceptance or awareness of change – that I am resisting the expanding expression of Divine Mind in and through me, forgetting the assurance in the promise “I will lead them in paths they have not known”, or that I am unconsciously perhaps committing change – taking my eye off the target and sending arrows veering off course into the weeds. Your message rouses me to constantly ask “So who am I?” and assure myself that “I am that I AM” which sent me: I have an opportunity for self-expression and God does know what to do with it.
Thank you.
Have been gloriously watching it happen! God’s goodness is abundant! Thank you so much for the timely post
One of the best ways I’very found to think about any kind of supply is that the opposite of income is outcome. Thank you for this article. R
Great message Evan. My every financial need has been met since I was very young. Not wealthy but following God’s guidance I have been well taken care of over the years. Now blessed with an extremely good fixed income retirement for which I am so grateful. “Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need.”
Thanks, Evan.
Money is also an idea. “God gives us his spiritual ideas and they in turn give us what we need today,” Mrs. Eddy says. She demonstrated it herself, as I read – I just am not sure in which of the books it is to be found – may be in “MBEddy, a spiritual Healer”. Once she needed a certain amount of money. After she prayed, she found 20 $ at her entrance door. Thats like Jesus with the coin in the fish` mouth. Thank you Evan for the great Truth, that God is meeting a l l our needs, not only money!
