A better form of waiting

Are you waiting around for something to happen in the future?  If so, why wait?

In divine Science, one learns that all of God’s good is present to experience now.  One does not need to wait for it.

Jesus Christ approaches a sick man in Bethesda who is lying next to a pool that is supposed to possess healing powers.  The ailing man has been lying there for 38 years waiting for a chance to get into the pool before someone else does, which he believes is necessary for healing to happen.

Jesus asks him, “Would you like to get well?” (John 5:2-9, NLT).  The man makes excuses for why he continues to suffer, not seeing the opportunity Jesus is providing to see himself well instantly.

In essence, Jesus is saying, “Why are you waiting for something material to happen?  You can be well in Spirit now.”

To prove his point, Jesus tells him, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!”  And the man is healed.  No more waiting.

When we understand health and abundance to flow directly from God to us in a spiritual form, waiting becomes obsolete.  We don’t have to wait on passing time to receive what God is giving us now.  Time is irrelevant.  Success is about open-mindedness and receptivity to what is already coming our way.

When we look to Spirit for help, we find immediate help.  Time is not a factor.

So, if you’re waiting on passing time to make things better, speed things up by waiting on God instead.  The results are much better, and quicker.
