Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
~ Jesus Christ, Luke 12:32
When a friend walks up with a gift they want you to have, and you are happy to receive it, you extend your arms and open your hands to their offering. They hand their gift over to you, and you are blessed.
As Jesus reminds us, God wants us to have the best heaven has to offer. It is His “good pleasure” to give us heavenly blessings. But to receive these heavenly gifts, it can be helpful to ask if we are in a ready position to receive them.
A ready position is one of gratitude and expectancy of good.
When thought is filled with gratitude for all the obvious good, it is ready to receive more. When thought is expectant of good happening, it sees how more of good is happening.
God is never hiding in the background, holding back, or waiting for us to “pass a test.”
God is proactive with sharing love and care.
Divine Love’s help comes to us before we ask. Heavenly gifts are coming our way all the time.
The bigger question is, “Are we in a ready position to receive them?”
So true. Thank you for the reminder.
THANK YOU!
Thank you Evan. I love when you bring a Bible verse into better focus for us all!
Here’s an article that ties in with Evan’s topic today.

Thank you for this, Evan!
Thank you so much for these inspiring thoughts. I am reminded of
something I had heard years ago, a fable, about how to catch a monkey.
It seems if a monkey has food within a jar, it will put it’s hand in to get
the food, but with a fist, will not be able to get’s it’s hand out and would
be so concentrated on holding on to (mortality), but can be captured by
erroneous thoughts, rather than the freedom of obtaining Good. All it has
to do, like with us with “heavenly gifts” – is to open it’s hand to receive
freedom and goodness, but oftentimes we are, like the monkey, so clenching
on to the mortal way of things, we seen to miss out on the spiritual.
The insights shared here today, certainly help in inspiring us to open our
hands and thoughts to the Good around us and not be clinging on to what
would attempt to bind us to materiality … and to be receptive to the gifts God
is so lovingly providing for us.
Loved your reply and explanation today; it helped reveal the belief in mortal ways of “things”, instead of receiving the freedom of obtaining all the GOOD from GOD!! THANK YOU!!!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH, EVAN FOR THIS HEAVENLY REMINDER. ALL OF YOUR IDEAS HERE ON SV ARE REALLY GREAT AND VERY HELPFUL. MUCH GRATITUDE !!!
Thank you, Evan.
