Be discerning

Are you quick to jump into an argument when another pricks your ego?

Do you open your mouth before you think about what you say?

Are you quick to jump to conclusions before thoughtfully considering the facts?

If so, here are words of wisdom that may help you avoid self-detonation and casualty next time around.

I don’t have to attend every argument I’m invited to.

I love it!

If bait’s a danglin’ in front of you, you don’t have to bite!  Swim on by…

  1. Love this, Evan! Just walk away,my mom used to say! The look on the fish’s face is priceless…no, I cried, “don’t take it Mr. Fish”! Just swim away! You don’t HAVE to take the bait just because it’s there!

  2. What a great blog, Evan. I have 4 Nurse Aides taking care of me, and boy Oh boy, can they argue amongst themselves, like little 5 year olds. I tell them, very composed, if they answer back, it just builds up the flame. Do they listen to me? A resounding NO is the answer. So, I lay back and think, “When Mortal Mind speaks, nothing is being said,” This way I avoid taking it in and it doesn’t bother me as much, thanks to what I learned from my study of Christian Science.

  3. Great post! I love it and will remember it coz I have seen what happens when you react every time someone picks your ego.

Thank you Evan for having such timely blogs.

  4. Thanks for this reminder Evan,. specially when one belongs to a certain group then a Memo comes along. For as long as one is not concerned of breaking any one or those rules, why be bothered? Just swim on by.
