No more waiting

A large percentage of Christianity is waiting for the second coming of Christ.
It’s like the Jews still waiting for Christ to come the first time. Centuries have passed since Jesus Christ appeared and still no Savior, from a Jew’s point of view, has appeared. They are still waiting. And they will continue to wait until Jesus is recognized as the Savior they were looking for all along.
And like those who haven’t recognized the first appearance, most haven’t seen that the second coming has already happened.
Jesus promised a Comforter that would come and teach us all things. He said, “…the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” (John 14:26).
This prophecy was fulfilled in the discovery of Christian Science in the 19th century. Through experience, revelation and divine inspiration, the full teachings of Christ were revealed to Mary Baker Eddy and she shared them with the world in her major work, “Science and Health with Key to theScriptures.”
The truths of Christian Science are life-transforming. They enable its student to heal through prayer like Jesus expected his followers to heal. They explain the immediacy of God’s help and enable practitioners of its teachings to experience more of heaven right here on earth.
In Christian Science, there is no waiting for something good to happen in the future. There is expectancy and demonstration of God’s good happening right now—today, this moment!
God is not afar off anymore. God is here.

We are not in the age of “waiting” any longer. We are in the age of demonstration.

  1. Thank you, Evan, for all you are doing to share your love with all of us. Your almost daily messages bring inspiration and healing and hope. SAS

  2. If the world will only understand that the Christ has already come in the human form of Jesus, and it’s laws as totally explained in Mary Baker’s book “SCIENCE AND HEALTH WITH KEY TO THE SCRIPTURES.” It’s not belief that is needed, it’s scientific fact excepted and proven for the last 150 years.

  3. This is a bold declaration! My favorite line is: “We are not in the age of waiting any longer, we are in the age of demonstration!” That is really very exciting when you think about it, isn’t it? Yes, thank you, Evan for stirring thought with your blog. I love that you are boldly declaring the truth without sugar coating it! Christian Science is the Comforter, and what comforter it brings to the heart and soul and body.

  4. I was at a Baptist service one day that was talking about this. The point they made was that the second coming happened the moment Jesus ascended. Jesus ascended and the Spirit of God descended. The second coming, the Christ, has been with us since the moment the physical man Jesus left. There never was any waiting. God is with us. Period.
