Be grateful for the opportunity at hand

“Jumping at several small opportunities may get us there more quickly than waiting for one big one to come along.”

~ Hugh Allen

God gives us exactly what we need in the moment we are in. So, your opportunity at hand even if perceived to be small, may be the opening you need to advance toward a larger opportunity to come.

  1. I love this idea, & will be working with it today, thank you dearest Evan & a joyous Christ day to you & your dear family, each moment.

My teacher had a slighly different take on this, advising we work on being grateful for the tiniest of things, & the bigger things will be easier to spot, because you’ve honed your spiritual discernment to spot what is more easily passed by as insignificant.

Being grateful for everything, small & big, is to see God, Love in all things, & I am most grateful to be not only reminded of her advice, but to have it deepened with another aspect of gratitude, many thanks.

Thank you also for all your wonderful sharings each week day throughout the last year. Just there, are 260 blessings to be grateful for. How good our God is, to fill us to overflowing with His/Her goodness.

Also, thank you dearest SpiritView commentators, as I love to read through all your wonderfully inspired ideas. May you all have joyous Christ days, pouring shiwers of blessings to you & your dear families, each moment.

With humble gratitude for God for all the things I do spot, but also for the many many I don’t spot, but know are there, & will work harder to see more clearly.

    Thank you xxxx

  2. One of my favourite expressions is “We exist at the standpoint of opportunity”,, or put naother way, “We stand at the opportunity of existence”! In the infinity of God’s perfect creation, the RIGHT thought / idea is always present to give whatever is needed whatever situation we are experiencing.

    1. Hi Ken,
Thank you very much for your poem in the Sentinel of 31st December on page 19 , very nice and inspiring

  3. Thank you, Evan!! Yes, a “limited” situation is like a windowless room. Condemning it won’t help us see beyond it. With gratitude, all circumstances are stepping stones, and we move from strength to strength.

  4. Thank you! That is exactly what is going on in my life right now. Seemingly small steps that I’m sure will lead to even more good. Happy New Year!

  5. “From sense to Soul my pathway lies before me, From mist and shadow into Truth’s clear day” (Hymn 64) is what I was reminded of with today’s wonderful blessing. Thank you, Evan and All, “The loveliness of Love IS all around”.

  6. I rarely add a remark to the lively conversation which emanates from Dear Evan’s precious blog, though I do love reading our SpiritView community’s responses to each day’s blogs. How to express gratitude sufficiently? You’ve already said: by being grateful for EVERY LITTLE THING, knowing that it is Mind which reveals each blessing. Sharing this blog daily with the worldwide readers helps me feel connected and supported, as we navigate a world which would appear to be fearsome. SpiritView through Christmas reinforced Christ, living in our hearts, adding splendour to the beauty of celebration. My heart really does overflow with love and gratitude for Evan and all of you devoted seekers.

  7. Thank you everyone for your sharing. I am so grateful that Infinite Mind is thinking everyone of us as perfect individual Ideas.

  8. Thanks! I love this…every step we take, however small, helps us onward towards our goals. I like Mrs. Eddy’s comment in Peo 1:2 “Every step of progress is a step more spiritual.” (Although she’s speaking of mankind’s changing views of God, I think it can apply to the progress we are making in our lives towards worthwhile achievements.)

  9. Thank you Evan for today`s SpiritView to think about!
After I pondered this text thoroughly, I do now understand it. And I think about what Mrs. Eddy says in SH, that if we are grateful for what we have it opens the way to receive more. But these gifts are God`s gifts of good and progress in every way. And I understand that that is what Evan means up here.
What a lovely foto, thanks !

Thank you all very much for your inspiring and loving comments ! They give nice insights.

    1. … and God gives us the opportunities for progress exactly the way we need and can fulfill!
These helpful insights came me today. 🙂

  10. Thank you , Evan…and all of you!!
I was taught many years ago to think/say “ I have an opportunity not a problem.” :-). Always helpful to be reminded. Gratitude ..gratitude.

  11. So grateful for this blog and all the wonderful responses to Evan’s thought provoking topics. Gratitude is a biggie!!!
