Beyond Competition

It dismays me at times to see politicians more concerned with having their way, and their way only, at the expense of working with their political counterparts for the greater good.

Competition is healthy. It allows divergent views to come to the table and all options to be considered. But there comes a point when action is needed.

When thinking about political powers working together, this quote caught my attention:

“Competition has been shown to be useful up to a certain point and no further, but cooperation, which is the thing we must strive for today, begins where competition leaves off.”

~ Franklin D. Roosevelt

I pray for more cooperation in our government. The one Mind makes it possible.

  1. Somewhere MBE talks about praying for those in power. I pray almost every day for our justices and politicians. I love this: Isaiah 41:10: Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
He is upholding them as well as me and you.

  2. It is nice to know that there is no spot where God is not. God is ultimately in control and governing all. We can hold to the Truth about God and man. We can see what God sees.

  3. Thank you. Love the thought that we are all praying for ‘true government’. Mrs. Eddy has said….in response to the question asked her, “What are your politics?”…”I have none, in reality, other than to help support a righteous government, to love God supremely, and my neighbor as myself.” (My. pg 276)

  4. Our country needs more to understand our forefathers when they wrote. “For the people and of the people.”
