  1. ‘O dreamer leave thy dream for joyful waking,
    O captive rise and sing, for thou art free;
    The Christ is here, all dreams of error breaking.
    Unloosing bonds of all captivity.

    He comes to bless thee on his wings of healing;
    To banish pain, and wipe all tears away;
    He comes anew, to humble hearts, revealing
    The mounting footsteps of the upward way.

    He comes to give thee joy for desolation,
    Beauty for ashes of the vanished years;
    For every tear to bring full compensation
    To give thee confidence for all thy fears.

    He comes to call the dumb to joyful singing;
    The deaf to hear, the blinded eye to see;
    The glorious tidings of salvation bringing,
    O captive rise , thy Saviour comes to thee.
    Hymn 202
    Just says it all❣️
    Thank you Evan. Joyful day to everyone.

  2. Oh how I love that hymn. There are parts that seem to address any need or concern that rises. Interesting that in this time of restricted access to travel and fellowship with others, we fell caged or jailed. Sometimes it’s hard to realize we just need to listen and recognize the first two” lines; “O dreamer leave thy dream for joyful waking O captive rise and sing, for thou art free,” I’m so grateful to know I’m in charge of the direction I accept as real! Thank you Evan and Barbara.

  3. So grateful to receive these messages of love and support! Thank you Evan and Barbara
    and Cindy! God Good; guards, guides, and governs….all!

  4. Thank you Evan for this profound advice!
    I ad to this sentence another one: If things seem to go wrong, be sure and pray to go with God! In this relation I love hymn 148, and specially the last verse:

    Green pastures are before me,,
    which yet I have not seen;
    bright skies will soon be o`er me,
    where darkest clouds have been.
    My hope I cannot measure,
    my path in life is free;
    My Father has my treasure,
    And He will walk with me!

    Thank you Barbara for that comforting, yes and healing hymn.
    Also the Daily Lift from The Motherchurch today is very helpful, to have a choice for today, to walk with God! Always the weekly lesson sermon is helpful to fill our consciousness with God`s loving, spiritual, healing thoughts to guide us.

  5. Dear Uta thanks for the reminder of hymn 148 which has always been a favourite. Such powerful and positive words. I will be singing that today!

  6. Attributed to Winston Churchill, “If you’re going
    through hell, keep going..”

    Things today can seem very hellish. Seeing
    everything as a dream…brings, “joyful waking.”

    “Oh captive, rise and sing.”
    Another hymn, “With the angels sing.”
    Singing with the angels…brings freedom.

  7. “Always a Path to Take”, Yesterday’s enlightening Spirit View helped to teach my Grand Daughters a lesson in Christian Science.
    When thing went wrong we did not go with them. Healing followed.
    There was a healing of one of their friends who was in the hospital. The girls were very sorrowful and asked for a prayer from their Grampa. I had been giving them simple truth’s and evidence of the healing that God provides through the prayer. And the teaching of our dear Christ Jesus.
    They all have our blessing and comforter Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
    I’m very grateful this morning to tell you all, that they are visiting sometime today!
    I pray that all will join me in welcoming them. There are listening and learning Christian Science.
    Won’t you greet them and mention where you are from? They will know that Christian Science is a world wide organization.
    Blessings will flow for them as they climb in the Life and Love of our blessed religion.
    Thank You all for this honor and magnificent opportunity.

  8. With all the political turmoil in America and elsewhere in the world it’s a good time to remind ourselves to not follow the herd mentality but to think for ourselves as intelligent individuals.
    Mrs Eddy reassuring says:”Like our nation, Christian Science has its Declaration of Independence. God has endowed man with inalienable rights, among which are self-government, reason, and conscience.” S&H 106:6-9.
    Those words certainly speak for themselves and give us hope.

  9. Oh boy, yes John, the CS Declaration of Independence. I am sticking this right on my laptop: “God has endowed man with inalienable rights, among which are self-government, reason, and conscience”, what a great reminder for me to stay on this path – thanks to Evan and everyone who participates in this blog.

  12. Jessica, Rachel, Gabriel, Sofie, and Charlotte, have a wonderful day cherishing God’s love for you and Elizabeth and your Grandpa and everyone all over the world.

  13. Warm and sunny greetings to you all–Jessica, Racheal, Gabriel, Sofie, Charlotte, and their friend Elizabeth, and Grampa and the SpiritView Family–from the California coast! :<)))
    My human family heritage is Scottish, and I loved visiting Scotland a few years ago, learning how wonderful the Scottish folks are! And I love that Mary Baker Eddy's ancestors are Scottish. This is human history, but fun to know. Anyway, we are ALL, ALL, ALL God's Children, living safely in divine Love! Knowing this fact, living it, is Science, the divine Science given to all humanity! This, this, is what to trust. Enjoy God's Day, Everyone!

    1. Hi! to Grandpa David & his granddaughters & their friend.
      I am blessed with one granddaughter who is in college now. Progress is God’s law & we all are enjoying it.
      We live in the suburbs of Houston,TX, which is both southern & western. Can we say, “Y’all?”
      So grateful to enjoy EVAN & fellow followers along our path.
      It’s not the destination but the journey we are to love.
      Love, Love, Love is with us, each & everyone!!!

  14. To Grandpa David Brandon’s girls, YOU ARE LOVED, from all over. Knowing and living where you are, it’s an eye opener that only GOOD circulates, so from LAS CRUCES, in chile growing country, greetings and salutations from this student of Christian Science, living in New Mexico, just under 50 miles from the border with Mexico and the United States, where the Christian Science church holds services, Sunday and Wednesday welcoming all who love GOD.

  15. Dear beautiful daughters of a unifying and totally loving God. What a special Grandpa you have to introduce you to us all! I’d love to hear where you all are from. I feel like I’m a World Citizen as I’ve lived in several countries. I grew up in Southern Calif. The first progressive path I took, which surprised my friends and family, was to move across the country when I was 22 to work at our beloved church headquarters in Boston, Mass. That experience changed my life and I will be forever grateful! From there I met someone who had worked at a CS nursing facility in London. I did the same and met my husband. The good always continues amid challenges along the way. Trusting God’s infinite goodness has always helped me to discern Her plan and the next step to take. I know God is also guiding, guarding and protecting you very special girls always. All you need to do is spend part of each day LISTENING and you will feel God motivating you in the right direction–good surprises are inevitable!! Enjoy the journey!!

  16. To grandpa David’s grandchildren– Jessica, Racheal, Gabriel, Sofie, Charlotte, and to friend Elizabeth, – welcome to the SpiritView family! Sending you all love and a big group hug from Santa Barbara, California. Isn’t it wonderful that knowing about God heals!

    How nice you look to your grandpa to helpin your prayers. Elizabeth,
    I hope you enjoy Evan’s Spiritview, as we all learn so much.
    Have a Happy time together.

  19. For Grampa David’s granddaughters and a very special Elizabeth — I recently moved from the Los Angeles, Calif. area to San Diego, Calif., so I can spend more time with my precious grandson and his parents ;-)) When I babysit my grandson, I always leave him with the knowledge that God’s arms of Love are beneath, around and above him all the time, in a giant hug! There is no choice here. It’s the way it is, as we are all His children and we are all with Him in the kingdom of heaven. So if you ever feel sad or lonely or confused, just keep repeating to yourself that God’s love is all around you in a giant hug, until you feel warm inside from all the Love!

  20. Tears of Joy! Thank you for all your welcoming of my Granddaughters. I’m sure they are feeling so very special today on Spirit View! You are a prayer for their spiritual growing.
    A very happy Grampa!

  21. Welcome girls…God’s Love is always with you and Grandpa David.. Sending much love to you from Northern California.

  22. I’m sure Grandpa David will have a delightful time with his granddaughters and their friend. I have two grown grandsons, five great grandsons and one great grandaughter – what a blessing! I live in Southern California but am originaly from upper New York State.

  23. I maybe too late in the day, but to granddaughters, and Grandpa much Love from just south of Glacier Park, USA. Before I get out of bed each it’s Spiritview, and the Daily Lift.

    Mind directs – Love protects – Princple is operating.

    1. To the lovely, cherished granddaughters and special friend. This is a few days later that I am reading of your visit and your growing awareness of God’s Truth and total Love. You are so blessed and welcomed. Enjoy the spiritual journey and enjoy dear Grandpa. Hope you get to see this. I am writing from the great state of New York. Love to all!

  24. ON LOVE
    “Divine Love, as unconscious as incapable of error, pursues the evil that hideth itself, strips off its disguises, and—-behold the result: evil, uncovered, is self-destroyed.” – (Mis: 209:32)

  25. I was thinking of the current events unfolding in my life tonight,
    I am sometimes amazed how gentle love works in my life, lifting trouble from my life that I accept as
    part of it all, but Love does not.

  26. How lovely are your lines, Nadine—bringing to thought the hymn verse, “How gentle, God’s commands; how pure His precepts are.” On pg. 241 of Miscellany, there is an extract from a letter someone had written to Mrs. Eddy, followed by Mrs. Eddy’s reply:

    “Last evening, I was catechised by a Christian Science practitioner because I referred to myself as an immortal idea of the one divine Mind. The practitioner said that my statement was wrong, because I still lived in my flesh. I replied that I did not live in my flesh, that my flesh lived or died according to the beliefs I entertained about it, but that after coming to the light of Truth, I had found that I lived and moved and had my being in God, and to obey Christ was not to know as real the beliefs of an earthly mortal. Please give the truth in the Sentinel, so that all my know it.”

    Mrs. Eddy replied: “You are scientifically correct in your statement about yourself. You can never demonstrate spirituality until you declare yourself to be immortal and understand that you are so. Christian Science is absolute; it is neither behind the point of perfection nor advancing towards it; it is at this point and must be practised therefrom. Unless you fully perceive that you are the pure child of God, hence perfect, you have no Principle to demonstrate and no rule for its demonstration. By this I do not mean that mortals are the children of God, — far from it. In practising ChristIan Science you must state its Principle correctly, or you forfeit your ability to demonstrate it,”
