With all the news reports about outbreaks of the coronavirus in various places around the world, faltering steps to reopen economies, and uncertainty about what to expect months from now, it might be tempting to get discouraged about one’s future. But this will not happen when one sees his future in the hands of God, rather than in the hands of a virus.
God is the source of everything you need to be successful in the fulfillment of every right idea God is sending your way.
God’s help for you transcends any threat a virus may claim. It masters that claim and succeeds anyway.
Jesus Christ encountered numerous threats to his ministry as he preached the truth to people around him. He faced political and religious persecution, desertion, powerful leaders who wanted to kill him, and an endless stream of opponents who sought any means possible to stop him. But he triumphed over them all by knowing that God gave him everything he needed to continue in his ministry. He transcended the opposition.
We must do the same today with the pandemic.
The pandemic implies that there is an evil power bigger than God that can stop good from happening in our lives. But this is not so. Our good comes from God. A pandemic cannot come in between us and God. Just as Jesus went directly to God for the wisdom, guidance and strength he needed to triumph over all his enemies, we too can go directly to God for all the wisdom, guidance and strength we need to conquer the recent scourge and prove it powerless. With God’s help, we can master threats, prove them harmless, and march on more successful than ever.
So, spend no time worrying about the future. It’s in God’s hands. Focus on making the most of today.
Prove your God-given dominion to be successful in whatever God is leading you to do. God’s support for you is full and running over! Prove it.
“If one would be successful in the future, let him make the most of the present”
(Misc. Writings, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 230).
