People are worried about a lot of things these days with the upheavals produced in society by the pandemic. Concern about employment, paying the bills, how to care for children, how to stay healthy, what to expect tomorrow, and more dominate the attention of many.
To conquer the worry, it helps to remember that there is a greater power at work over our being than the latest fear reported by the press.
God is in control!
God is an all-knowing, all-wise Mind that has a solution to every problem we face, an answer to every question we ask, and a supply for every need before us.
Like the sun keeps shining, God keeps loving.
God’s love is always present to bless, empower, strengthen, and heal us. But like we need to stand in the sunshine to feel the warmth of the sun, it helps to mentally stand in God’s presence to feel God’s care.
Worry is like a dark closet shut off from the light. Don’t stay there!
Gratitude for all of God’s good, and conscious acknowledgement of that good, gets us out of those dark closets and into the light that comforts and heals.
Waste no time in worry. Pray instead. Find the light of God and let the one Mind show you how the bills are going to get paid, the children are going to be cared for, and how you’re going to stay healthy. Mind knows and is happy to tell you.
Listen, hear, follow, and prosper. Worry no more.
What a lovely reassuring message to start our week! So many people are feeling concern over the future and the longer this situation drags on, the more worried people have become. You mention how gratitude takes us into the light that comforts and heals. I am grateful that my husband, who is not CS, is one of the most optimistic people I know. He always sees the positive and not the negative which is helpful to me to stay positive too. Likewise your blogs each day always help to lift us into the light and support us. They are the first thing I read in the morning along with the Daily Lift and then the Bible Lesson. I am so grateful!
I also begin my day with SV, the lesson and daily lift. I am so grateful that Christian Science lifts one’s thought above the material picture ,making us see and know our real goal.
I remember going up in an aeroplane for the first time from a dull drizzly UK airport and was just amazed at the beautiful bright sunny atmosphere above the clouds! So it is ,as Evan tells us today , that we must look through all the doubts and fears to experience the ‘light’ of Truth and Divine Love that holds our lives in perfect peace. Loving thoughts to everyone ❣️

So comforting and reassuring Evan , thank you
On the phone last night I was talking with an old friend. He was concerned about cruelty and so was I. But we could look through the ages and see that the blood of the martyrs. “The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church.”
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 37:5–6 The) It helped us both to see the progress that goes on. Jesus showed us the way to face this ordeal with forgiveness and compassion. I have been praying many years for a cessation of cruelty and Christian Science will support its destruction on earth as we become more spiritually endowed. Whoever uses his developed mental powers like an escaped felon to commit fresh atrocities as opportunity occurs is never safe. God will arrest him.

Dear Evan,- To me your powerful posts are an invigorating life support to what seems to be a fast sinking world,- and the loving responses from SV contributors are a life raft of hope! Mary Baker Eddy and Jesus both prophesied the increase of discord, dismay, and the disruptive elements of error on the material plane. Evan, you remind us to stand firm in Truth, and to stay buoyant in the face of the pictures of increasing sin, lack, sickness and death. As students of Christian Science we learn that the destructive beliefs and dire forecasts of material existence are hypnotic illusions, because the only reality is God and spiritually perfect man, and that all discord will finally be swallowed up in spiritual Truth. We have the Science and knowledge to elevate, purify and heal the world stage. So grateful.
Thank you, Evan. A beautiful way to start the week. My thoughts have always been focused on being grateful for what I have in our life. My primary focus is on today, and today I am safe and loved. I have a quote on my tablet that shows up every time I log on. “Acknowledging the good that is already in your life is the foundation for all abundance.” , by Eckhart Tolle. This quote along with Evan’s topic for today filled me with endless love and gratitude for what is in my life. Mrs. Eddy has said in S&H, “God is the center and circumference of being.” Where can we be that could include worry, it does not exist where God is.
I read this quote on a site that was referencing a book called Sermons and Articles by Doris White Evans, who was apparently a long-time Christian Scientist”—-the quote is ….”A wise worker once said, Be so instant in Truth that error is always too late.‛” Love and gratitude to all.
All of us who have had Class are practitioners. But Evan even a practising practitioner may need to call another healer for help demonstrating the day! Another but! Your SV keeps all of us out here grounded as to not need to make that call. Thank u, you are our practitioner. Keep up the good and necessary work.
