Develop consistency in your practice

July 10, 2026 | 25 comments

Sometimes healings come quickly.  Other times, there are significant moral and spiritual demands we must learn to complete a healing, and it seems to take time to figure them all out for a final healing to occur.  But whatever situation we face, rather quick or lengthy in resolution, a key to success is to persist with Truth until we see the light that dispels the darkness.  Stay consistent in your pursuit of Truth.

Mary Baker Eddy writes, “Individuals are consistent who, watching and praying, can “run, and not be weary; . . . walk, and not faint,” who gain good rapidly and hold their position, or attain slowly and yield not to discouragement” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 254).

Growing in our understanding of Truth is empowering.  Gaining a little each day with God is strengthening.  Opening the door of thought to the light of Truth is invigorating.

Triumph with Truth is inevitable.  Error has no choice but to give up, concede defeat, and surrender to the presence and power of Truth.

Stand with Truth and prevail.

Stay consistent in your persistence with Truth and reap a heavenly reward.  Healing.

  1. Thank you for the encouragement. I needed this post today. In the face of challenge divine love is the true light.

  2. From Science and Health site 426 by Mary Baker Eddy . The Discovery of Christian Science finds the path less difficult when she has the high goal always before her thoughts, than when she counts her footsteps in endeavoring to reach it.

  3. Very beautiful, Evan. Thank you very much. All healing is inevitable and we can rest assured that God will bring healing about no matter what the human circumstance claims. There is no reality apart from God and His allness.

  4. I may be wrong but I’ve always considered all healings to be instantaneous. The only obstacle is total understanding and reliance on the truth of a situation with the complete acceptance of the allness of that Truth❣️

  5. Hi dear SV friends. Perhaps somebody can help me find the article by Ivimy Gwalter “in Church: A living power”. I just thought about Evan’s SpiritView dated November 2017 with the topic “The church that is full”. That is such an eye opening topic Evan gives us with that SpiritView. That is very timely today.

Dear Evan, thank you very much for your today’s SpiritView. Looking forward to study it later during the day.

      1. Thank you very much Cheryl!
yes, it is that article I was looking for. Wow it is absolutely wonderful. Ivimy explaines what Church really is. It’s very worth reading it or listening to it!!

  6. Thank you so much Evan. The medical world says I have stage 4 cancer. Your post today is so beautiful and hopeful. Thank you.

    1. Dear Spirit View fan, Keep absorbing these wonderful messages that
are shared here by Evan and all … to see above and beyond what human
sense is trying to tell you. The Spiritual View of you and your Being holds
you in Love’s sweet comfort and care and no matter what the material
sense of things appear to be, your Perfection is not Really determined by
what a limiting mortal or medical world tries to pin on you.
Lots of Love to you and a Big HUG!

    1. Thank you, J, for sharing the article from Bobby Lewis. I hadn’t seen it before, and I appreciate having it. It is very good.

  7. Thank you, Evan and fellow truth seekers. This post resonates with me, as I have been making great progress lately on a physical situation that I have been praying to see through for a while. One of the most important lessons I’m learning is that persistence pays off. I love the many times that MBE used the phrase “in proportion..” 30 times in S&H and 33 times in her other writings. For example, “We shall obey and adore in proportion as we apprehend the divine nature and love Him understandingly, warring no more over the corporeality, but rejoicing in the affluence of our God.” S&H 140:8-12. I have found the periodic study of “in proportion” to be very helpful. Thank you for everyone’s comments and links to articles.

  8. Thank you Evan. It seems as though something in this mortal experience is always being taken away or added to us. I loved the insight provided in this article. It says in Ecclesiastes (3:14) “I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it” and this is law. What appears as (fill in the blank) is a mental error demanding correction or an erroneous picture of (fill in the blank) be erased.
