Millions of people have been educated to fear the coronavirus. They are living in fear, isolating themselves in fear and suffering in fear. This does not need to be. The coronavirus is not something to fear, but to conquer and prove powerless.
Christian Science explains that a germ, as matter, is not a primary threat to health. It’s fear of the germ that leads to harm. Conquer the fear, and you can conquer the germ.
Spiritual truth gives us power over germs to neutralize them and render them harmless. But we need to face any fear about them fearlessly and conquer them to obtain a victory.
Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer of Christian Science wrote, “By looking a tiger fearlessly in the eye, Sir Charles Napier sent it cowering back into the jungle” (Science and Health, p. 378).
Don’t be afraid of the coronavirus. Don’t live in blind ignorance of its claims either, but face them fearlessly, and neutralize them with spiritual truth.
You have what you need with Truth to stay healthy and well.
Don’t cower before the virus but face it fearlessly and “send it cowering back into the jungle.”
Error is the coward to run tail and flee, not you, the spiritually minded child of God!
I am.so grateful for today’s blog Evan which comes as many parts of the UK have again been put under severe restrictions which will prevent them from gathering together at Christmas. I am so grateful to know that the love of the Christ cannot be isolated and that no-one can lose the peace and joy and power of the gentle presence of the Christmas message (hymn 207). Your blogs are so uplifting and a daily source of help and comfort. I can’t thank you enough!

Thank you, Evan,. I faced that fear head on when the test came back positive for me. At first i was assailed by debilitating terror, but through prayer and the strong defense of a dear practitioner’s prayers, I was eventually able to turn completely to God and “stand in His presence unafraid.” The fear receded and with it the discomforting symptoms and I was free. I saw the whole experience as an intensely aggressive mental suggestion. Through this healing, I was reminded of the strength, presence, and sacred allness of God. I felt guarded and protected; my recovery was swift. I thank sweet God everyday for His love and care for me and mine and for the privilege of studying Christian Science.

The lesson sermon this week reinforces on us all how loved, special and consequently protected we are by Our Father/Mother God. Prophets, Jesus and MBE make known to us that the Christ is here now with us whatever we face humanly….and I love that❣️
It is easy to get dragged along with the crowd but God has “given us NOT the spirit of fear, but of a sound mind” so we CAN be strong mentally and change the direction of thought to give the power back to God, Spirit rather than a dis-ease. I remind myself when looking at the stars and nature and the planets etc that this grand universe was created as IDEA by God, the SOurce of all life, so where can this evil virus come from? God did not include this in His/Her grand plan for the universe I am positive!
MBE writes in Science and Health p. 192, “In Science, you can have no power opposed to God, and the physical senses must give up their false testimony. Your influence for good depends upon the weight you throw into the right scale. The good you do and embody gives you the only power obtainable. Evil is not power.” What is that “weight” that we throw into the scale? Is it an EARTH WEIGHT …a worry, a lack of trust in the source of all good and all life?
Mrs Eddy also writes, “If the scales are evenly adjusted, the removal of a single weight from either scale gives preponderance to the opposite.” So I guess we must continually add to the good and the true inothe scale of our conscious thought to outweigh the error .
thank you for this. I used to get the flu every year but last year I finally healed it, by feeling God’s love. That is all it takes for me. It’s just love-feeling that Divine Love. I have not been ill since, nor will I be. It is indeed, all thought.
I was struggling with great disappointment over what seemed to be a lack of love recently that was expressed over a long period of time to one of my sons, but I am starting to understand that not everyone is where my thought is and I need to just keep knowing that someday it will be. Thank you.

I have not had any fear of covid since this whole thing started. None what so ever. The fear I am trying to handle centers around the reason it is here and the un-God like motives of people and governments as to what they want to do with it. Keeping the spiritual sense that ALL are God’s image and likeness and evil is not a part of anyone – – has been a challenge. Maybe Even can help us with that. We may have been praying about the wrong thing.
I, too, feel the same way, Roger. I would also find thoughts along those lines, very helpful.

Let Christian Science, instead of corporeal sense,support your understanding of being, and this understanding will supplant error with Truth, replace mortality with immortality, and silence discord with harmony.”
Interesting explanation of comforter I heard recently. When Isaiah says, comfort he my people; the encourager, the one that supplies spiritual ideas , weapons to destroy all evil. The one who encourages the individual to face the foe and not run away in fear. The one who stimulates one earnestly to charge forward in spiritual warfare and see the victory.

We can only bear witness to His power and presence and remember that He could never make anything harmful or destructive, and He made all that is real, so…..there is no harmful or destructive element in the universe. the fear of Covid is all around me. The temperature of fear rises and falls.
But it is the same issue- where do you live? In the secret place of the most high? or being bounced around by duality with great fear of mortal mind,
I do ask myself what is being shown here or being annihilated on such a grand and global way? I pray for those who have experienced any suffering. It seems it is time for all to find something with substance they can lean on. I also hear those who claim they are not afraid and all of this masks, etc is fear. But they are still claiming something that is real that isn’t to resist. This does not align you with protection. I wear my mask thinking of rendering onto Caesar what is Caesar’s. I follow the laws.
