Eliminate hurry by exercising dominion

“Whoever is in a hurry shows that the thing he is about is too big for him.”

~ Lord Chesterfield

When we understand our God-given dominion over a situation, we will not feel a need to hurry through it. We can make decisions with poise, grace, and authority.

  1. I am on a train to Ponferrada, Spain, originating yesterday in San Jose, California to be in an Art Fair in Cacabelos. I still need to glue up the 70 pieces of art. Amazing that I feel so calm. I really enjoyed the reading this morning. I am not hurried. Everything is working like a perfect puzzle.

  2. Evan, I think this is one of the most powerful ideas. I’ve struggled mightily with this concept having been pressured most of my engineering career to complete projects before I had actually thought them through. This rush to completion can be a really bad habit as it can interfere with the true guidance that only Spirit, the one Mind, the Divine Principle of Truth can give.

  3. I am thankful that I have learned to slow down and trust even more in God’s direction. I used to have a daily “to do” list that I hurried through each day to have it all accomplished by the end of the day, or I just wasn’t happy with myself! Wow, was that ever the wrong way to go about it. I now know, even if it takes a week to accomplish all my “to do’s”, that is okay because God is directing and guiding me as to the very best way to accomplish these tasks and projects. When we really listen to Him and ask what He wants us to do (rather than personally deciding ourselves what we think we should do every day), we may find we can delay or even delete items off our list as they may not be the most necessary tasks to be completed at this moment! No list is too long to accomplish with God by our side and I have found the lists become less or even unnecessary when slowing down by just simply asking God what to do when and how!

  4. I was just given 10 months notice that my job will be eliminated. This is a great reminder that God (Spirit, Love, Principle) is bigger than a timeline, no matter who has delivered the timeframe. All is in His time, all will unfold under his divine care for me, his perfect idea. Thanks for the message today!

  5. “God given dominion, grace, poise and authority.”
We are given all we need. Thank you, Evan and fellow listeners.

  6. I’ve just been given Inner Guidance that it’s time to quit Subbing and to spend some time grieving my losses, feeling my feelings (sadness and anger) and acknowledging the sexual assault I received as a child – so that I can move Forward in Freedom and Love. Me Too!!

    1. Bless you! Taking the time to address it, and recognize your eternal wholeness as God’s beloved, perfect image and likeness, is so important.

I’ve spent a lot of time and energy working to free myself from the seeming effects of past trauma/ptsd, and have made a lot of progress. Mortal mind tries to draw me back in sometimes, so I keep working to adjust my thought back to God’s dominion and love.

I wish you well on your healing process!

    2. Bless you too! And when acknowledging past trauma, make sure to replace that reflection with the grateful acknowledgement that your spiritual selfhood, the perfect child of God, has never been touched by any kind of trauma. “Stand porter at the door of thought.” That’s where the healing is to be found.

  7. Oh yes. Had something yesterday I thought i took the time to think through but I was just waiting to pounce. I do remind myself when I really make a mess of things that the only reality is God so in a way by acknowledging this truth, the ‘sting’ is diminished in consciousness and order revealed.

  8. Thank you Evan as always for your inspiration. And thank you all for your comments. Having dominion over rushing around is such a great goal to have as I acknowledge that more and more each day and listen to God..what next Father/Mother?

  9. Coming to this awareness, all good has appeared, as I work through a closet, to reorder and remove debris, which led to add working around a sewing area, piled so high nothing good could be done. Restoring both the closet and the sewing area, leads me forward to new vistas, freeing thought to declutter, delete trash, then, next listen for those thoughts coming directly from God’s Divine guidance. Nothing creative comes from human thought, but are directed to us through Him. Others witnessing this re-ordering are coming to help, offer new views and help us all to create a useful, free space to express creative ideas. Lowering my resistance to new ideas has been the result, with the added benefit of seeking ways to benefit of the community. These steps have been taken in both a public community maker space and at home. What a God sent blessing. Thank you Evan, for the nudge to express more dominion, and with less hurry. ” I will listen for thy voice” frequently comes to thought first.

  10. Thank you all…and Evan. I like to think and picture Jesus walking around…full of grace and peace and love….and never in a hurry. Ha

    Happy day to u all!

  11. Thank you Evan for reminding me to first pray and listen for God’s guidance and than act with peace and authority to everybody’ s and my blessings. I love what Evan says ,,we can do everything with grace, poise and authority” .

I love what you say Kathyw, and I also could see Jesus walking peacefully and lovingly and yet eager doing every moment his heavenly Father’s will with poise and authority .

  12. Oh, I`d like to post another comment.
When going to church in former times I felt in a hurry. Then I got the idea: As a child of God I am on the right time, in the right place and doing the right things (for God). I really prayed with this, and I find it still helpful.

  13. Now it is Sept 21. I posted on September 19 on my way to Ponferrada, Spain. At my destination, the Museum had the perfect tables ready for me to continue my art mounting oroject in an organized way. It was such a pleasure to comfortably complete the project and deliver exactly in the time frame needed in comfort with just the right help. The result is beautiful and satisfying.

  14. I can’t find Evan’s comments about hurry, only the comments from people who have read them. They sound great….. Help??

    1. In case you can’t find it, here it is:
