Enjoy the spring of God’s creating

April 23, 2021 | 26 comments

It’s springtime in the part of the world where I live. Fruit trees radiant in stunning bloom, flowers painting the landscape with red, pink, and lavender swatches of brilliant color, and the smell of freshness in the air greet one at every corner.

For those who fear springtime for health reasons, it’s a wonderful opportunity to understand the truth about the spring of God’s creating.

The spring of God’s creating is not a material cycle fraught with danger, but a spiritual unfoldment of Life’s blessing of continuous good. It’s not a season to fear, but to enjoy.

God is all good. The trees and flowers of God’s creating are good. The environment of God is good. The atmosphere one breathes in God’s presence is healthy. The effect of walking, living, and moving about in the realm of divine Love is positive. There isn’t anything bad or harmful about experiencing the springtime of God’s creating.

Mortal mind perverts God’s spring by calling it material and insisting that evil is real and prolific throughout this season. It then finds evil and danger everywhere it looks.

Mortal mind is wrong!

God’s spring is spiritual. It is of Mind, not of matter, and it’s a season of purity, safety, holiness, and spirituality. Its atmosphere is spiritual mindedness. Its environment is Truth. Its effect is solely from Love.

To keep yourself healthy, stay clear on the spiritual truth about the spring of God’s creating. It’s not a product of mortal mind, but a splendid, positive unfoldment of divine Mind.

Mary Baker Eddy wrote, “What an abuse of natural beauty to say that a rose, the smile of God, can produce suffering! The joy of its presence, its beauty and fragrance, should uplift the thought, and dissuade any sense of fear or fever”
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 175).

Have no fear of springtime. Love God’s spring, a season of Life that signifies renewal, refreshment, and exhilaration. Stay spiritually minded and live free of suffering.

  1. Thank you so much for this, Evan. It reminds me of this Bible verse: “The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life” from Job 33:4, and then “In atmosphere of Love divine, we live, and move, and breathe” from hymn 144, which relates to your “walking, living, and moving about in the realm of divine Love”. Just lovely!

  2. Isaiah 43: 18 Remember not ye the former things, neither consider the things of old.
Isaiah 43: 19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?

“The violet lifts her blue eye to greet the early spring. The leaves clap their hands as natures untired worshipers.”

From; Hymn #2 from the Christian Science Hymnal, author unknown
A glorious day is dawning, and o’er the waking earth.
The Heralds of the morning are springing into birth.
    In dark and hidden places
    There shines the blessed light
    The beam of Truth displaces
    The darkness of the night.

And hymn 75, by James Montgomery
    Second verse;
    “His blessings come as showers
    Up on the thirsty earth;
And joy and hope like flowers,
Spring into His path to birth.
    Before Him on the mountains
    Shall Peace the herald go;
From hill to vale the fountains
    Of righteousness shall flow.”

Praying this morning for those challenged with an idea of aging.
Spring is a new birth. We are new each day, every hour, every second, every Nano second. Spirit is our life. We are conscious only of immortality.

Hail the springtime promise! Enjoy the newness and regeneration. Of all creation.
    Thank you for Friday’s blessing.

    2. Thanks David for the beautiful imagery in your comments. Yesterday was Earth Day in the US (April 22). May God guide as as good and wise stewards of his precious creation.

      1. Hi dear Rose, today I oncemore listened to Evan’s precious Vlog of last Wednesday. There I also noticed your link to hymn 148 which Lisa is singing a capella in a duett. Thank you very very much for that link. It is sang very beautifully. It was so needed to listen to this Morning. The healing power of our hymns are felt indeed. God exactly knows what we need and gives it at the right time. So we are really aware that God is LOVE – thank you GOD!

  3. Soul/beauty, is the art side of God. The picture
today expresses it perfectly, light, color, design,
    freshness, newness, wonder, richness …
    Perfect! Thanks!

  4. Thank you Evan for stirring our thoughts to the deeper understanding of the beauty of unfoldment taking place in springtime. Let’s also observe the wondrous power of
Spirit as you beautifully defined in the expressions of Life,
    Truth and Love

  5. Mrs. Eddy’s poetic sharing in S & H, 516: 12-19 is brought to mind (with all of these glorious expressions of springtime beauty today)… where she writes, “Love, redolent with unselfishness, bathes all in beauty and light..The modest arbutus sends her sweet breath to heaven. The great rock gives shadow and shelter. The sunlight glints from the church-dome, glances into the prison-cell, glides into the sick-chamber, brightens the flower, beautifies the landscape, blesses the earth”.
Have a delightful, spring-filled day, everyone.

  7. Thank you David andEvan for your refreshing thoughts of
The beauty and joy of spring.I lived in the Okanagan Valley
For many years and all the fruit trees come to bloom in May.
Your photo is a reminder of this wonder of renewal.
God’s blessings are new every morning……great is thy
    Faithfulness.

  8. Dealing with some suggestions of darkness and heavy thoughts. So I appreciated, “The environment of God is good,” and God’s spring is “a season of Life that signifies renewal, refreshment, and exhilaration.”

Since we are of timelessness and not of time, then all seasons are God’s seasons. Therefore that freshness, renewal and exhilaration are always available to us as His children. We are continually in that good environment of God, wherever we are. “God is at once the center and circumference of being.” (S&H p. 203-204) Let’s enjoy the perpetual spring!

    1. & sometimes isn’t it helpful to simply, as in:
-‘the valley of the shadow of death’ metaphysically is Not Good, so when thought only on God, is
-leading to: ‘Yeah, though I walk through ,
I [God’s Child] will fear no evil, for GOD is with me’

        1. Yes! Thank you Angie. Walking through no-thing and fearing no evil, is true for all of us, for He is with us.

          1. Love all these comments. It helps me to think “Yea though I walk through the shadow of mortal belief, I will fear no evil….…”
            Welcome renewing thoughts and ideas!

  9. It is so wonderful that you give us the real, the spiritual meaning of Spring! It is a loving present for me (for all of us) and I thank you very much for it dear Evan!
The emphasis to enjoy the God created Spring is on what you said, Evan, “stay spiritually minded and love God’s Spring as season of Life that signifies renewal, refreshment and exhilaration.”
I would also like to demonstrate the unreality of the assumption that in Spring one gets more tired. This error is also to be treated as not true either in God’s realm!
Thank you David Brandon for the truth you mentioned “Spring is a new Birth, yes a mental rebirth and there is no aging. ” That’s so important and wonderfully comforting and true!
Thanks all for your poetic texts and inspired comments!♡
I can always only say that I am grateful for this blessing and healing SpiritView blog! ♡

  10. When I was a boy o nine years old, I began working to help my parents supply for our family. I had 7 brothers and two little sisters.
My job was as a newspaper delivery boy. My paper route was a rural route. It covered about 4 miles of gravel rural countryside roads.
I had this route for 6 years.
I was well acquainted with seasons, weather, and conditions. This experience took me into the life experiences of many wonderful people. Most of whom would love to talk to me on collection day. I learned many things while being a productive delivery boy.
After dealing with winter days, walking the entire way pulling a sled or carrying a shoulder bag with the newspapers, I learned early on to appreciate the springtime. Now I could ride my bicycle! Warm in the sun! Seeing the beauty and promise unfold each day, starting with the crocus flowers, brave little blossoms, the very first to peak through early spring, still cold ground. Chirping birds busy searching for nesting grasses and food.
My dear Mother was so pleased with me for being a help to provide for the needs of our family, she revealed to me many things she never told anyone else.
One of those things was how, when she was a toddler her mother didn’t want her. She was sent to live with her grand mother.
    (about 1904)
Her Grandmother lived in the plains of Nebraska. Their home was called “adobe”.
It was a home made of earth, sod, mud hardened by the sun. They had a pet tarantula which kept the insects managed.
This was basic living. What my Mother remembered of this home was springtime’s splendor. This humble place was covered with beautiful flowers in the spring. Something impossible to modern homes with their window flower boxes.
Later on after six years of living with her Grandmother her mother called her home. She had a sister now and her mother required her help. This story is about springtime. It would fill many a book. Reflections on spring, beautiful springtime. Hardened by winters blast, stronger than before, ready and happy to do more. Love Your Springtime View, Evan and everyone. It’s always springtime somewhere….Mostly in our hearts….

    1. Thank you David for this humbling and joy filled comment of you and your family. It s such a nice and interesting story!♡
By the way, I once also delivered newspapers in substitution during a holiday time at age 12. I earned a bit pocket money.
What a lovely commenter family is here on this blog, am grateful for it!

  11. I don”t get onto this blog very often as I spend little time on the computer but there are always such wonderful thoughts shared.
    Thank you.
    Sally

    1. Deborah,
Thank you for your encouragement. The book will take long time to complete.
Many short stories are completed, however. Perhaps it is time to share some of them.

  12. Wow Evan, I just read this SpiritView more thoroughly after I awoke this night needing some inspiration. And I glimpsed a deeper understanding of God’s synonym SOUL. Always when I read the synonym SOUL I asked myself, what actually is expressing SOUL as God’s synonym. Now I know it since I read your refreshing explanations of the beauty of God’s spiritual idea SPRING.
Dear Evan, you are a wonderful teacher. Thank you very much for this enlightenment of the purest form of the synonym SOUL. Am very happy for it!♡
