Every prayer makes a difference

February 15, 2023 | 16 comments

Do you ever get in a big rush to get somewhere and fail to experience peace in the moment you’re in while making your trip? If so, perhaps it’s time to slow down and see the good at hand.

In this video I tell about benefits I gained when learning to enjoy each step of the way, rather than staying blindly focused on a destination.

This vlog was filmed at Twin Lakes, Colorado, when my wife I and visited the area in September 2022.

  1. In Luke 12: 32 we read;
Fear not little flock for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.
In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy 13:10-12
If our petitions are sincere, we labor for what we ask; and our Father who seeth in secret, will reward us openly.
Thank you Evan. Every prayer truly makes a difference, so we should not relent our effort because we are moving on, and making progress.

  2. This hymn comes to mind with regard to this topic – H.238
Here are the first and the last verses:

O, sometimes gleams upon our sight,
Through present wrong, the eternal right.
And step by step, since time began,
We see the steady gain of man.

Henceforth my heart shall sigh no more
    For olden time and holier shore;
God’s love and blessing, here and there,
Are now and here and everywhere.

With a prayer before and with every step forward and upward,
,we will eventually reach our desired destination. .

    1. All of these thoughts are so precious and healing. I looked up the hymn you
mentioned, Maggie, Thank you, and also love where it rejoices,
“For all of good the past hath had
Remains to make our own time glad”.
At times when we may have been feeling lonely, down and then perked
ourselves up with the Truth of God’s ever Loving comfort, are steps,
increments in our lives, that help to heal and bring Soul closer to being…
      Being In God.
And a timeless quote from Alice Meynell (1847-1922),
” Happiness is not a matter of events: it depends on the tides
      of the mind”.

  3. Wow! I had never even heard of that beautiful place with those miles of sand dunes. How amazing, such a blessing to discover along with such a wonderful thought!

  4. Thank you Evan…another wonderful lesson of how perseverance with prayer brings perfect understanding nearer. And what an amazing place for your hike!
Thank you Maggie also for the verses from hymn 238. Reminding us of Gods Love here, there, now and everywhere.
    Happy prayer filled day all❣️

  5. We listened to this lovely inspiration while eating our breakfast and now we are ready for our day! Each prayer is just as important as every other prayer, and I’m remembering reading that prayer also means pray-er! Thank you!

  6. Always good to get these cheery reminders! (Those Dunes are Amazing, too!!)

I used to fall into the trap of believing that my prayers are what help or heal me. Then it dawned on me that my prayers are the AVENUES that open my thought to the Good that IS, to God and the Real Universe of divine Ideas. Whew, what a burden lifted! God is All Power, All Law…Is All, Does All…Period!

    1. Thank you, Evan. I love that idea of step by step, prayer by prayer we reach our goal and awake to spiritual reality. Thank you, Sue, for that helpful idea.
