Find peace in knowing God’s presence

June 10, 2020 | 24 comments

One of my favorite Bible verses for finding peace is in Psalm 46, “Be still, and know that I am God.”

If you are bothered by events going on around the world, “Be still, and know that I am God.”

If you are in the middle of a family conflict that appears unresolvable, “Be still, and know that I am God.”

If you have lost your job and fear how to pay the bills, “Be still, and know that I am God.”

If you are facing a health problem that appears frightening, “Be still, and know that I am God.”

God is an all-knowing, all-wise Mind that has a solution to any problem you face.

God is a Mind of Love that knows how to resolve that family conflict.

God has infinite resources at hand to support, supply and provide for you.

God is a Spirit that abundantly provides you with health to stay strong and live.

God is an ever-present help in any time of need.

As we still the human mind, silence worry, and shut the door on material sense, we hear God’s voice and know what to do next.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” It will take you to a good place.

  1. Nothing can separate us from the Love of God…

as the operative word in this weeks bible lessons…trust…..trust in God…..know God….be stil, know and trust in God…….such simple instruction….lets follow it……..
    lots of love

  3. I used this quote to calm thought when stuck in a 2 hour traffic jam on the motorway once! I was desperately trying to get to my sister to comfort her and was very frustrated. That message came to me “Be still and know that I am God”. It was wonderful as I didn’t have much choice but to be still and when I eventually reached my sister I found that she was already comforted! Love was already there! X

  4. A very helpful thought indeed. I also use ” I am part of You, and in You Lord, thanks for being always there!”

  5. Your comforting words, Evan, God has infinite resources to support, supply, and provide for you, I am grateful to hear. Working daily on a big project, I must Be still and trust God. (and be cheerful, orderly…) Thank you!

  6. Beautiful picture and reminder. I needed that with all these absurd political demands that have no truth in them. Man is created by God and it is the Truth that sets us free from any other thought over man’s existence.

  7. Thank you for this inspiring message this morning. I saw this in a periodical some time ago and use it often.

    Be.
    Be still.
    Be still and know.
Be still and know that I Am.
Be still and know that I am God.

  8. After feeling a bit disturbed yesterday, but not wanting to be confrontational… (no one knows our experiences unless they have lived our lives) and wanting to stay positive, I turned to the recent Sentinel and the following words from your article, Evan, resonated with me and were so helpful: “The more our thought is focused on agreeing with (S)piritual reality and the less it is occupied with the body and the material treatment of it, the quicker illuminated, spiritual consciousness is reached,
and the faster spiritual healing happens.” So many current, positive thoughts are out there that help uplift thought in these challenging times, coming from all backgrounds ~ that as children of God, we do not have to feel guilty or privileged or oppressed or feel supremacy or victimized. This is not a pollyanna, superficial approach, but sees us all as rays of light from our True source, Love, God.

    1. Thank you Carol. I like your statement…
“we do not need to feel guilty or privileged or oppressed or feel supremacy or Victimized. …but to see us all as rays of light from our true source, Love, God.” Such a healing thought for our world today.
Thank you Evan for your healing thoughts too. We can be still through the turmoil. Is God’s mind in turmoil? Can my mind which is a reflection of God be in turmoil? No!

  9. I looked at that picture and thought now that is stillness. When we become that still we can feel the perfection that we really are. Thank you Evan that picture says it all to me.

  10. Evan, that “covers the whole face of the ground”! Thank you so much–and for ALL your wonderful, healing posts.

  11. Evan, another inspiring treatment to lead us into the sanctuary of Spirit and “Be still…..”. Where we leave all the false believing of mortal mind and realize the peace, harmony, well being, and transforming power of Divine Love. Thank you Evan for your loving dedication, and for the thought provoking comments from readers. Much love to all!

  12. Thank you Evan. After a very challenging morning this is just what I need. I love the way God sends us the messages just when we need them.. Thank you for delivering His message to me.

  13. Twice I had an experience when suffering the loss of functionality, physically..
When managing a call to a wonderful practitioner, she didn’t start any dialog which I couldn’t entertain at that time, she said very lovingly, David, sit down and be quiet, and when you are quieter, get more quiet. And rest.
In a matter of a little while, the claim went away and I was able to walk and to begin functioning normally.
The second time it happened to me I tried to reach the same practitioner, but couldn’t reach her., but left a message.
I sat down and got quiet and when i got quiet, I got quieter. Then the symptoms again disappeared. I called the practitioner to thank her for her prayer. She said she didn’t hear from me. When telling her of the experience, she said it wasn’t her, but the Christ taking care of my need.
Faith, in this weeks lesson has two meanings, trustfulness and trustworthiness. In the first healing I had trustfulness and in the second healing I demonstrated trustworthiness, I hope.
Another lesson learned, and the claim hasn’t returned .
I pray that I’m learning , sharing, and healing whenever and wherever the need. ll
And that I’m grateful to be counted worthy of joining this SpiritView every morning…
Thanks be to God for the privilege of sharing SpiritView with it’s leader Evan.

  14. Thank you Evan for sharing God’s message. I, too, am grateful to be able to receive the daily messag you share in you blog.7

  15. Peace be still among the jarring testimony of the material senses which are screeming for attention. This is the message I received when reading this blog and the comments. And is just what I desperately needed. Thanks to all!

  16. David I always love your comments. My practitioner used to say “Gentle thought down and keep it gentle” which is what you were doing when you were being still. Am so grateful for our practitioners.

  17. Expressing my sincere gratitude for Evan, Spiritview, and all the Spiritview family. Many, many thanks.

  18. Here is my Be Still prayer:
Be Still & know that I am God/Creator.
Be still & know that I have a big plan in my one mind.
Be still & know that you are loved and love able.
Be still & know that you are whole in my total presence–up/down/front/back/left/right.
Be still & know that you are energized by the Holy Spirit/the Earth.
Be still & know that the spirit of Mother Earth is with you.
Be still & know that I created you perfect, whole, balanced, and free of false conceptions.
Be still & know that I am the only force in the universe.
That I am totally present, powerful, and the only law.

  19. Just was in need of God’s help and read this SpiritView. And it gives me great calm. Thank you, Evan, assuring us of God’s everpresent help and loving guidance!
Am very grateful for this healing treatment up here with such a peaceful foto. On Wednesday the 10th of June I needed a parking lot in a street where it seems impossible to get one during the day. I needed to buy something for a party. While I drove 3 times around this street. I prayed uninterruptedly this sentence from Psalm 47 “be still and know that I am God”. An I knew God’s presence. After the 3rd time there was a free parken place very near the shop I had to go. I deeply thanked . God for His caring guidance. Always when I drive I know that God is on my driver’s seat and omnipresent with the whole traffic and all passengers!
How grateful can we be for Christian Science who teaches us to get acquainted with our loving Father-Mother God!
