Finding comes with seeking

Are you actively seeking what you wish to find?

If you are seeking something which God is happy to give, then success is guaranteed, for as Mary Baker Eddy reminded one of her students,
“Be of good cheer, you cannot seek without finding” (Christian Healer, Amplified Ed., p. 196).

  1. Lovely positive quote…thank you Evan.

It reminds me of how I respond to the ..’ I’ve got a problem Mum…’ from my children telling them……
…’ there are no problems….just resolutions we need to discover yet…
One of my ‘go to’ verses from the bible……
‘ We aim for what is honourable not only In the Lords sight, but also in the sight of man.’ 11 Cor 8 v21.

    1. Beautiful Barbara, thank you!
My kids never took Science further thzn Sunday School, however, I know Love is with them always.
This is a super citation which, gently served with a couple of synonyms, in a moment of need, can only benefit everyones’ thought.

      Thank you Evan

      1. Dear Shelagh
I’m so glad you found a connection with my post!
I myself did not seriously study the roots of my CS teaching.( Only 7 yrs in Sunday school ) until 2018. My children went to a Methodist Sunday School but now are not interested in religion sadly. They do however realise my sincerity to study and obey our teaching /learning in Christian Science and our youngest often tells me to ‘ get my prayer belt operating, ‘. both for myself and himself at times…. No good thought or prayer is ever wasted… have a lovely weekend.x

    2. thank you I have always relied on simple sentences with my children. now grown I just sent yours. thanks

  2. What wonderful, helpful and uplifting quotes from Christian Healer as well as from the Bible. As you seek, God will find you and remind you that He has already supplied every need, and is waiting for you to reach out and take it, especially the need for inspiration that precedes the solution. Love meets and has met, every need. Thank you dear Evan and Barbara. Love the image. Always so perfect for the Spiritual View you are opening up for us, Evan.

    1. “Be of good cheer, you cannot seek without finding.” Makes me think of John 16:33, “Be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world [worldly thought].” If my good seems missing or delayed, I”m likely starting from the wrong premise, the premise that something is “wrong” and I must seek to fix it. That is still matter-based thinking. In CS we learn to start with (and stay with) what’s always true, what error can never make untrue: Perfect God, perfect man, perfect all.

-Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
-Psalms 105:4 See(k) the Lord and His strength, see(k) His face continually.
      Love you all!

  3. God wants to be known (from our perspective of ”seeking”). In this week’s Lesson alone are three references to this; Isaiah 45:6 – “…that they may know….; Psalm 67:2 – “…that thy way may be known; and Luke 5:24 – “…that ye may know….” There are more “… that ye may know…” verses in the Bible, both OT and New T.

God created man as reflection, specifically so that we could not help knowing Him, and knowing all that God knows- which includes every single characteristic and quality of God’s infinite being.

With God making Herself infinitely knowable, and known, and because to human sense we are all, every human, seeking health and happiness, there is simply no way we can fail to find Her. And as we all know, “finding” God is the answer to everything.

God wants to be known. God is therefore knowable. And we want to know Him. It’s the perfect match! There’s no way to fail. Love never fails!

    1. Thank you Carolyn, very well said. So true, and comforting to know that God wants to be known and that we cannot help knowing Him, “the perfect match!” It truly is the answer to what everyone everywhere is seeking.

  4. Ask and it shall be given unto you,
    Seek and ye shall find,
Knock and the door shall be opened unto you,
    Alleluia
Christian Science Hymnal, Hymn 572, verse 2

  5. On our journey through Life’s paths, seeking and finding our True Being, we can turn seeming stumbling blocks into
    stepping stones.

  6. This is so good. Thaks Evan, I really am getting a lot out of these posts. I also found it good to check out yesterday’s post and saw the two more articles by Corinne Jane Teeter presented. More to contemplate and study today.
    LOVE

      1. Thank you very much J. I’ve been enjoying the Corinne Teeter articles, I love the way she writes. I shared the excellent “Never Plead Guilty” with my daughter. Appreciate all you share.

        1. You’re very welcome Rose. Me too on the articles. 🙂 Please know that I also appreciate all that you share and always look forward to reading your comments.

  7. No unsolved problems. Only calls to love and to turn to the Source of every solution while we celebrate the recognizing and living the answers.
