From I need to I have

June 1, 2016 | 17 comments

Do you begin your day with “I need,” or “I have?”

I hear it often. “I need more strength. I need more money. I need better health. I need another job. I need, I need, I need….”

There is nothing wrong with having legitimate needs met, but the question begs an answer, what is going to get you to the more desirable place? Is it going to be through thinking that you need something all the time, or through recognizing what you already have that can be utilized and used to meet those needs?

Humans live out their state of mind. If a person is constantly entertaining the belief that they need something, then every day they wake up in the belief that they lack. They live out a lacking mentality. And that’s not cool. It’s not progressive! It can lead to feeling stuck and stymied, even with seeing no hope on the horizon.

However, if one stays in his right state of Mind as a child of God, he will constantly be seeing what he has. As a child of God we always have Life, Truth, and Love to back us up, empower us, inspire us, and propel us forward.

Life is filled with energy, zip and vigor. Truth clears thought, focuses attention, sorts wrong out from the right. And Love comforts, counsels, guides and heals. We have everything we need coming from God to prosper and excel in all worthy activity.

Man is not created to be a lacking mortal. Man is divinely designed to be a prospering immortal. God’s man is an “I have!”

Children of God are always in the “I have” mode. They have what they need to act intelligently, retain health, feel worth and value, and move forward with productive profitable activity.

So, this is your day to be an “I have!”

“I have God. I have Mind. I have wisdom. I have intelligence. I have ability. I have love. I have health coming from God. I have everything I need to be happy and whole today…and tomorrow too.”

Enjoy.

  1. better I could not start the day, i.e. with those Truths of your todays SpiritView, dear Evan – really just what I needed – thank you so very much! With that in mind it will be a very good Gods day.

  2. Absolutely wonderful quintessential message. Thank you. So very helpful in all circumstances.

  3. Wonderful, powerful message, Evan, thank you. It recalls the words in “Choose Ye,” where MBE writes, “Wholly apart from this mortal dream, this illusion and delusion of sense, Christian Science comes to reveal man as God’s image, His idea, coexistence with Him – God giving all and man having all that God gives” (My 5:7). Abiding thanks, Evan, for this guide to each prayer, thought, action – and for all your inspiring and healing work for Church, blessing all.

  4. Thanks, Evan – This is Perfect! But this didn’t make it to my email In Box this a.m. I had to go find it from yesterday’s Blog. Anyone else have this problem? Anything to do on your end about this, Evan? It’s been happening frequently, lately. Thanks so much! Love to All!

    1. Yes, Bevi, I had that happen last week a couple of times. No email. So I went to the blog like you did. It hasn’t happened again, though.

  5. So good!!!!

    Love,
    Kate

  6. I really “needed” this. So glad of the reminder of all that we have, and for your daily help in re-focusing. Thank you, Evan!

  7. I do need to have your daily blogs!!

They are so filled with love and spiritual understandings.

  8. This thinking worked wonderfully for me. I realized at one point that ‘God is all here now’ and began to ‘inventory’ all that I had. I found many, many things in disrepair that with some ingenuity I was able to repair and beutify with what I had on hand and that began a trend of fixing and organizing and re-inventing all around me. This creative mindset took on momentum and I have transformed my home and garden using the items I had on hand. Each day presents an opportunity for creatively utilizing what we already have. Thank you for sharing the goodness of all that we have in our spiritual oneness.
