God’s healing work is final

“O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed; if you save me, I will be truly saved. My praises are for you alone!

~ Jeremiah 17:14, NLT

People try to find healing through drugs and other material remedies. And they may find relief, but it’s often temporal, or one illness disappears only to be replaced by a successor later.

Real healing is always going to be spiritual. When transformation happens from the inside out, a person is permanently benefited. And this is the kind of healing God brings into our lives.

When an illness is met at the level of consciousness, the source of that illness is permanently eliminated. There will be no recurrence or evolving form.

It may take more effort to seek out a spiritual healing, but the reward is worth the effort.

When God heals us, we are truly healed.

  1. I love today’s inspiration. It speaks of God’s Healing Work.. When God heals we are truly healed. You also mention that its transformation of a person that benefits him. Purity of Soul, purity of consciousness plays a vital part and being good and pure in thoughts, words and deeds does bring a permanent healing

I remember some years back I was seeking to be healed through prayer. Whenever I would take the help of the practitioner I would get healing in 2 to 3 days or the same day. But this time the healing was being delayed. I was asked to examine my thought, my consciousness.
Actually I was facing knee pain.. I could not put my foot down…It was so painful.. It was very natural for me to turn to prayer, as I always do. When I examined my thought and consciousness, many things needed to be corrected… I needed to be more humble, bend to God’s will and not be willful, remove all anger and hurt feelings from thought, grow in my understanding that in God’s infinite goodness there is no room for pain. I even studied a booklet “The Truth about Pain”. I got a lot of strength and inspiration from this book. The author had suffered much and was tempted to taking the help of medicines, but ultimately she got a permanent healing through prayers.

Well though the healing took a long time, it was a period of trial, I got all out support from family, friends and with the practitioners guidance and prayers, the purification work done by me, I saw the light of healing in my life. God never fails nor forsakes those who put their trust in Him. “Patience must have her perfect work.”

Deeply grateful to the practitioner who supported me throughout with her prayers. Thanks Evan for the daily spiritual feast.

  2. Thank you Evan and Nergish for today’s postings. I fully accept that healing occurs only through purification or better understanding in thought. So…when a person passes on with some apparent difficulty, does this mean they will not be healed until they still manage to improve thought, or does the experience of passing on, of itself give us greater / improved understanding to help progress? I find it very hard to think of loved ones who have passed on in pain, still struggling, and would appreciate any thoughts, thank you.

    1. Dear MB. I hope Evan will correct me if this is wrong, but this is my experience and from many years researching hundreds of “near death experiences”.
When anyone passes on in painful circumstances they instantly lose that sense of pain (as that is only felt in matter , not in truth) . In that instant they realise that they are still “here” and alive. In many cases and possibly all cases, they see their body from above and realise they are not there in that boody and their life has not finished at all and want to tell people who are upset, that they are just fine!
Our life is in GOD , Spirit and once we transcend this material shell in consciousness, we are ready for continued expansion of our consciousness of ourselves as only spiritual beings . SO very many people have written and spoken of this experience and it is not to be feared . I had a wonderful “message” from my brother several months after he moved on , that he has “expanded” and this is wonderful to think of. If you are feeling intense separation this can only be in consciousness so raise your consciousness above sadness and material concepts of life, to be closer to theirs and KNOW that God is EVERYWHERE and nothing apart from Him is present or has power and that includes that word “death” which really should be replaced by “TRANSFORMATION”! As Nergish says, think of them as being on holiday and staying in another house for now, but if there was love between you then that still goes on. Do you think you can still love that one but they cannot still love you? Not at all…Love is of God..eternal and infinite! Your loved one is not in pain or suffering. Read p 77; 9-21 in Science and Health.
Also in S&H ” To mortal sense, sin and suffering are real, but immortal
sense includes no evil nor pestilence. Because immortal
sense has no error of sense, it has no sense of error; there‐
fore it is without a destructive element.”
Your peace is intact just as your life and purity are intact. There is no separation unless you BELIEVE there is! Keep loving that person but see them as alive and well in Spirit (as you are!) and he/she is as close to you as a thought away. Do not be distracted by this material mediocrity..all is Spirit and Love and eternal Life. In Love you live and move and breathe.

    2. Hi MB,

This is a big topic you bring up. As Jesus demonstrated, death is not a friend or an enemy. It’s a non-event. It also did not change him physically. He showed the nail prints and spear wound in his hands to his followers afterward to prove he was the same after as before physical death. However, when he ascended, ascended in thought, he dropped the physical concept of self entirely and entered into pure spiritual consciousness where there would be no more more evidence of physicality, including no more evidence of the crucifixion. He demonstrated his total perfect spiritual self. And he said, Follow me.

So, this is the path to healing and Life–the path Jesus has walked where all material sense is dropped for spiritual sense. It doesn’t come through death, but through spiritualization of thought, through realizing Life in Spirit.

I’m sure many people have great enlightened moments when “passing on,” and are quite ready to drop suffering beliefs for something better, and do. Christ is everywhere, and in everyone at all times, helping, healing, restoring and blessing.

I find it most helpful, though, not to dwell at the mortal level of living and dying in matter, but to see Truth, Life in Spirit. I live in Spirit now, completely and fully, and so does my neighbor, friends and family members. I never live out of Spirit, nor die back into it. I’m there now! This is the healing place to stay in thought!

      1. Big gratitude Evan, for your enlightening and very freeing scientific explanation to MB`s desire for clarity in that matter!

  3. Please don’t be disturbed dear friend MB. In reality pain is only a belief because matter can not pain, swell or get inflamed. We are all spiritual in our true identity. “Soul senses are without pain forever at peace.” Your loved one is free of pain, has awoken to a better world and is continuing with God. The truth is when we pass on to that consciousness we will all meet again. So please do not grieve. Just think that your loved one is on a holiday abroad. So if you shed tears how can that person enjoy the vacation? Keep calm. Then alone that person an be free of anxiety and continue the onward progress cheerfully. Hope you are feeling good now.
We shall pray for your peace and strength. God comes closest to us in times of trial and we are all in the one embrace of God, never separated from Him, nor from each other. Take care. Much love.

    1. Thank you Nergish for your loving comment to Evans so true and helpful SV. And thank you for your comment to MB`s questions.
Such a loving and healing blog, thank you dear Evan! 🙂

  4. Hi MB

As I understand, the answer to your first question is: the person who passed on will be healed only when she managed to improve thought – but God is always with us leading us, also after the assumption of death – because God is endless Life – our life – always.
On p. 82 of Miscellaneous Writings by Mary Baker Eddy you read for instance: “Infinite progression is concrete being, which finite mortals see and comprehend only as abstract glory. As mortal mind or the material sense of life, is put of, the spiritual sense and Science of being is brought to light.”

And in Unity of God by Mary Baker Eddy on page 37 you find an article by MBE “Is there no Death”. Perhaps that helps you, too to understand this matter in Christian Science.

By the way, pain and struggling is no real part of any person. We learn in Christian Science that God is aways with us; and you can know your acquaintance fully safe in God`s infinite Love.

  5. Thank you God, thank you Evan, and thank you Spiritview community. Today’s blogpost and supportive comments are full of beauty, grace, truth, and are so powerful. I am feeling full with God’s Love. Love is the law.

  6. The second coming
    of Christ ….

    The baptism of the
    Holy Spirit….

    The cleansing action
    of the Holy Ghost…

    All old limiting ideas
    wiped out of consciousness…

Set on fire with a living
    divine contact with God…

    Born anew, made whole,
    the new Man and Woman
    emerge…..

    Having bathed in the
    Glory of God…..

    Life, service and Love
    now are One

    1. Thank you Maximo, for another wonderful poem rich of Love and Truth and Life 🙂

  7. Thank you for this reminder of full and permanent healing, Evan. And MB, thank you for reminding us that every experience can be progressive, even the one we call dying. But we don’t need to wait for death to begin thinking differently of ourselves or loved ones who are in pain. Our great work is to behold them perfect here and now, wherever they might be in space or time. And even if they have passed from our sight, we do not need to think of them as living in a painful body. Our great contribution to each other is to think of each one in their highest, realest being, as one with and loved by God.

As I have pondered the many NDEs I have heard about, one thing that I take away from it is that these dear ones have had a taste of life apart from the material body. They know there is such a thing. But each one has returned to the material sense of body to work out of it through living and loving, not through fearing and dying. Jesus showed us the material body after death and he worked out of it completely through his ascension.

So our first allegiance is to divine Life with no thought that death can save us from anything. But Life and Love are with us here and now telling us the truth about our loved ones and about ourselves. We all are being gently lifted above thinking of ourselves or those who have passed as material. We are all spiritual here and now.

  8. Hello Evan and blog-neighbours !

Yes, God’s healing is magnificently permanent — I am a nineteen year witness to being forever healed from a self-imposed mind-numbing prison of alcohol with all of its burdens. Amen

  9. What meant so much to me is what Mrs. Eddy said: “He’s wiser today – healthier & happier than yesterday.”

  10. I do so love the picture, Evan.
When we experience a spiritual healing there’s so much joy felt within us.
Every day I thank God for Christian Science.

  11. Thank you Evan for the opportunity for this discussion today. What I am learning from everyone is I don’t have to wait for the experience of so-called death to find release from what seems a long standing problem, Today, now, here, I am blessed with the presence of God, His Love. His Truth are tenderly nurturing me now. Healing is present now. I feel so humble and loved just now and strengthened by all the comments to persevere on in His healing love. There is much to go ponder to day.
Much love and gratitude for each of you.
