It’s not hard to pray

I’ve had people tell me that “It’s hard to know truth.” They feel stressed out about their prayers, finding it difficult to get inspired, feel the presence of God and be lifted out of a suffering sense.

When struggling with a similar feeling years ago, I got a metaphysical “boot up the side” realization when I realized that it’s never hard to know truth. It’s hard to believe in sickness, pain and suffering! Belief in evil is the “hard part,” not faith in God’s infinite good.

Aha! That’s it, I agreed.

Grasping spiritual truth, taking it in, loving it, thinking on it and accepting it, is never hard. That’s easy! It’s like feeling super down and being welcomed into the arms of a loved one who wants to hold you, comfort you, love you and make you feel better. A big loving hug is not hard to accept when you feel like you really could use a big hug! Prayer does that. It takes us into the arms of divine Love where God gives us a Big Hug.

How fast we accept God’s Big Hug depends upon how fast we leave a false belief behind and turn 100% attention to that Big Hug coming our way!

The “hard” part feeling, during prayer, comes from believing in evil. We feel frustrated, discouraged and despondent, not because we’re praying, but because we believe evil exists in some form. And that is a downer! Belief in evil is always depressing and discouraging.

So, don’t be fooled. Prayer and accepting God’s goodness is not hard. Accepting evil is hard. Move faith from evil to good, and the prayer will feel much easier! And produce better results.

As Jesus Christ taught, the devil is a liar (John 8:44).

  1. Well said. Harboring evil thoughts that do not exist is sometimes is a big step. Grasping the Truth only releases us from material beliefs.

    Thanks, Evan.

  2. Dear readers, sometimes we don’t have to try hard to experience truth, because Truth always already tries very hard to find us. So we just need to relax, lean back and let God do the work.
Remember?: ‘Not my will be done, but yours!’
So the less we doe with our willpower, the more beautiful things happen in our lifes.

    Have a wonderful day

    love

  3. Such a sweet reminder that finding Good is really easy, just let go and we fall into the arms of Love, and find what is true about ourselves.

  4. What a wonderful lift! It really is easy to know the Truth. Error would have us believe otherwise.

    Thanks, Evan.

  5. I love this because not only is it very cozy, but it woke me up and made me ask myself the question: Who exactly is it that’s saying it’s hard to know the truth? And we all know the answer to that one, don’t we!

  6. It’s only hard when the human accepts life as being hard knocks to deal with. Good is always the real and true. God himself is good only and creates only what he knows and since we are in his image and likeness, it makes it that much easier to drop the false and hang on to the true.

  7. I like the idea of receiving big hugs from God. You can’t feel it unless you fall into it and trust it. Sometimes I just want to have a good chat with God like He is my best friend.
