Healing is discovery

July 28, 2026 | 13 comments

Spiritual healing is not recovery.  It is discovery.

As you pray, keep discovering your reality with God where you are a harmonious spiritual being.  In that reality, a sense of suffering disappears.

Healing happens as thought aligns with Truth.

Recovery is the effect of healing, not the cause of it.

Discovery of Truth is the cause of healing.

Keep discovering!

  1. Thank you Evan!

Today’s view reminds me of a CS lecturer who shared, that to dis-cover is to take the cover off a seemingly difficult situation to find the truth which always IS.

This can be tough at times, yet our prayers are as messages of light connecting us with the one Knowledge, divine Mind, “Light of the world, in whose light we shall see” Hy297 . . . our eternal and, safe, place with Mother/Father God

    1. Thank you Evan – very helpful seeing healing as a discovery
      rather than as a recovery.
And Grateful, thank you for sharing a
Lecturer’s thought on the word discover. I love that too
as it adds another dimension to unfoldment.

  2. This is such a lovely sense of true healing – it’s already done and the demonstration is the discovery of that present fact ! Thank you Evan – so very helpful .
And thank you for your Sentinel Watch discussions on listening – something we all need to learn more about

  3. This is quite a remarkable thought particularly for those of us who are rather new to Christian Science. The thought/idea has opened a whole new door of understanding that in the past I could not understand.
    Thank you.

    1. P.s. A busy day yesterday, so didn’t get to respond to yesterday’s SV. Thank you RobertH for your thought-provoking comment, which I feel is relatable to many of us.

  4. Thank you for this dis-covery this morning, Evan! It was great to wake up and read this, and realize how often “healing” and “recovery” and conflated, when really healing is instant and recovery implies slogging through a sense of time.

I would add that, from my experience, once I have a shift of consciousness that is a healing, I sometimes feel like “the kitchen is back-ordered.” I had been unconsciously ordering “appearances soup,” and it is still coming out of the kitchen for a while, even though I’m now ordering Divine Perfection.

  5. Thankyou Evan for this Inspirational message. I like this picture at first glance it reminded me of humbleness and humility, they go hand and hand. everyday is a Discovery!! Thankyou!
