Keep things running smoothly

September 12, 2022 | 17 comments

A household that runs smoothly is governed by a peaceful state of thought that keeps that home running smoothly.

The same rule applies to our personal lives running smoothly. When thought is guided by Truth and Love, it is filled with peace, harmony, and order, and those qualities, in turn, manifest themselves as events they touch being filled with more peace, harmony, and order.

To keep things running smoothly, let inspirations of Truth and Love guide your decision-making, and everything you’re involved with will be blessed.

  1. So true! To know there is only one Mind governing, maintaining all in harmony and order! There is none other to disrupt or disturb, keeps worry out of the picture. Thank you!

  2. Thank you, Evan.
When I remember that “Not my will, but thine be done”
I find I respond in a more loving, patient, & respectful way to everyone during my day.
It’s a humble “letting God go first” and very often brings an harmonious response from others in return., as we’re reminded: “Love is reflected in love”.

    1. I agree with you Carolyn, being humble and turning the day over to God helps us remember that it is His day, His way, unfolding through us.

The picture of the cogs or gears working together could be seen as all the elements of Life working harmoniously together for our good— not through our human manipulations, but by trusting and relying on God to take care of all His children and keep things running well.

Blessings to Evan and dear Spiritviewers!

      1. Blessing and Love to you too, dear Rose.
You said the Truth so loving and well. I love how you comment up here, thanks very much!
And thank you also dear Carolyn for your inspired comment which I love as well!♡

Thank you very much dear Evan. I need a helper in household and from time to time I luckily have one. But today I did hoovering my carpet on my own for which I am glad and thankful having done it. And I am praying to let Truth and Love guide my doings and day – God’s glorious day!♡

  3. Thank you for a wonderful start to Monday morning! It is a great reminder as I go back to teach elementary school children. I will think of my classes as our “home” and to keep a peaceful state of mind to see their likeness to God/good as well as my own. I also have a household and family to put the ideas into demonstration. Grateful!

Here is another great article to read along the same lines as above.

  4. When our priority and focus and discipline is Spirit and spiritual law, divine Love and our commitment to (and on-going being) loving all, we are not distracted and tempted in doing the things that create more chaos, breakdown, loss, and suffering in or as or outside our mental home. Our thought is more ordered and principled and calm, we express more grace, with nothing adulterating that is added and does not belong and nothing needed that is missing or out of balance. we don’t waste our time and energy on distractions and destraction, clinging and collecting and losing/grieving. We don’t get caught up in drama and we don’t fall into the prison believing that we or others are the enemy or bad , to fear or try to appease or impress. So our household is not full of junk and our schedule and body is not filled up with what is not fulfilling. We don’t invite or allow into our home evil influences or any form of neglect or abuse. We don’t wall ourselves off from others through elitism and dismissive contempt, indifferent to the suffering of those calling out to us to love and to serve. We don’t build a lifetime or a house of cards, glass, or straw. We don’t fill it with possessiveness and possessions controlling us with off-gassing and moral pollution. or harm to others. We are not tempted to hide in our houses escaping our moral purpose and meaning and our duties. We don’t get upset; we just get more focused in praying and loving all, and glorifying God.

We also are more Christly so in the human experience the antichrist proportionally attacks us. The more Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Daniel, Nehemiah, Elija, Elisha, Ruth, Mary, Jesus, Paul, and Mary Baker Eddy obeyed and manifested God, the more the impersonal mortal mind acting as aggressive mental suggestion and the activity of fear/sin as people who are used to high social status controlling others attacked the highest followers, servants, demonstrators of Spirit and Love. And Jesus told us that if either way the winds and storms and waves are attacking us , we don’t have to take it personally and we need not be afraid and have our ego involved, because we are housed in and grounded on the rock. Our foundation is Truth and Principle, our framework is Mind, and our purpose and meaning, our protection and provision and fulfillment is Spirit, Love. So we kiss the cross and wake to know a world world more bright. Our home is heaven. Our environment is heaven. Our housemates and neighbors and workers and human representatives of the means to have a home all have heaven within them and call out to us to express and experience heaven. God is in control, blessing all, demanding and making it possible for us to heal and bless ourselves and others, graciously offering beautiful, appropriate, abundant hospitality. That is why we pray throughout each day and night to let only Spirit, Love order each thought and act, our motive, identity, activity, results. So we build a mental then human “home” that is unique and just right for us and our expanded sense of family and guests and neighbors and our environment and economy and world, blessing all.

  5. Edith,- thank you for the beautiful illustrations of the many ways that the Christ operates to bring harmony and order to our daily lives.
    – Some of the dictionary synonyms for order are peace, lawful behavior, control, calm, and serenity.

A beautiful day to each one in this blessed fellowship!

  6. Thank you Evan. Comments today on “order” made me think of Hymn 329:
    “To earth’s remotest border
    His mighty power is known;
    In beauty, grandeur, order,
    His handiwork is shown.”

It’s also a reminder of the effortless peace in being God’s reflection. I came across this quote yesterday: “Valued lessons of quiet reflection continually surround us in the peace of nature’s unfoldment. Our progress Godward need not be attended by pain or problem. Serene, loving unfoldment, peaceful and tranquil, should attend each hour. If disturbance seems to obstruct our journey Godward, then may we remember the uncontested power of Mind, which forms the flower, the perfection that is already reflected, the peace already established.” In a world where things can seem less than harmonious or ordered, I love the spiritual lesson of nature, showing the uncontested power of Mind. peace by observing nature’s wonders.

  7. Thank you Evan! Love the correlation to the Responsive Reading in our Lesson this week.
“…God is not the author of confusion, but of peace,…”
