Keep up your PEP

Here’s a catchy short acronym a reader shared with me:

Persistent
Effort
Pays

Doing nothing yields nothing, or perhaps worse, allows for retrogression. So, even when the way is not perfectly clear to our sense of things, steps we take in a progressive direction get us closer to a better place than where we are.

As we persist with our highest understanding of right under the circumstances we face, the full picture of where God is taking us gets clearer until fully seen and understood. Persistence is often required to see this working out, but is worth the effort.

Persistent effort pays.

  1. Just a heads up that today’s post didn’t come through in email. Had to go to your website to see if there was a Monday post. It happened last week once as well. Don’t know what’s up with that. Anyway, thanks for this thought provoking post. Always deeply appreciated.

  2. Good morning, Evan. Maintain work consistently and persistently. God is activity and we are His reflection. A beautiful goal is to have that Mind that was in Jesus and Mrs. Eddy, with the promise that the top of understanding according to Jesus is to do what He did and increase. It is worth fighting for that goal. Best activity there is. Blessings and excellent week.

  3. Yes, exactly the same as Anna wrote happed to me, too.

Thank you very much Evan, for today`s SpiritView.
It is important for our spiritual progress – I am working on it.

Am very thankful that we may learn all this in Christian Science; that God showed and lead us the way to CS – in which ever manner 🙂

    1. Hi commentors,
another methaphysical text from SH by MBEddy came to my mind, when I read today`s SpiritView – perhaps this text is a bit relevant to it – it`s the following on page 22:

“Work out your own salvation” is the demand of Life and Love, for to this end God worketh with you “Occupy till I come!”. Wait for your reward and “be not weary to well doing.” If your endeavors are beset by fearful odds, and you receive no present reward, go not back to error, nor become a sluggard in the race.
When the smoke of battle clears away, you will discern the good you have done,

  4. Hi Uta. I love what you added. It reassures me and helps me to persist in the road knowing that I will bear fruit, especially today that my back hurts and I have been in prayer without results yet. Thank you.

  5. Persistence is actually a virtue, but many people shy away from persisting. I have observed each time when I persist. that its worthwhile to do so. There was a time when I was not getting a healing and I truly had to be very patient. But I did not give up because I had learnt a lesson from my most dear friend that when we pray for a healing, we need to do three things and these are:
    FIRST IS RESIST THE ERROR
SECOND IS TO INSIST ON THE TRUTH
THIRD IS TO PERSIST WITH THE TRUTH.
I knew that with God there is always a victory. Waiting on God patiently and persistently for a healing for nearly four to five months, helped me in my spiritual journey. It was a joyous experience. And I am so happy I did not give up.
I was also reminded of the woman who goes to Jesus for healing her daughter. The disciples ask Jesus to send her away..But when she truly persisted …saying even dogs eat of the crumbs that fall from the masters table, Jesus was touched by her persistence and faith and healed her daughter. So friends never give up.. God is faithful and Persistence pays.
Thanks Evan for the lovely inspiration.
