Mary Baker Eddy writes, “Man, governed by immortal Mind, is always beautiful and grand” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 246). The word “man” in this sentence refers to all children of God, men and women alike.
To know God, is to be governed by God, by immortal Mind. It is to be conscious of God’s grandness and goodness. It is to have beautiful thoughts that form beautiful words and beautiful actions. It is to live a beautiful and grand life.
Go for the best! Think the best thoughts. Live the best life. Live a beautiful and grand life inspired by divine Mind. You are worthy of the best. Refuse to accept less.

Just what I needed to be reminded of this morning. We are always beautiful and grand because we are, right now and always governed by Immortal Mind. I’m so grateful that God loves us too much to allow us to go through our days thinking we aren’t good enough or don’t have enough or are too old to be of any use, etc. That list is seemingly endless but nevertheless pointless and fruitless. Love sends the angel messages that we need to counteract the lies that parade as our own thoughts. That’s what happened to me this morning. I was feeling a bit lost but God reassured me that I was on the right track- I am so grateful! Thank you for sending out these beautiful reminders of Truth each day:))

Sharon I love your To Do list. I make lists often but they mostly contain just the ordinary material tasks I need to complete. If we start with a list like yours, everything else we do will be elevated, smoother, easier and more joyful because we’ll be operating from the highest level of reality, spiritual reality – the only actual reality.
Evan says ‘Think the best thoughts,’ (also #6 on your list). I’m happy to realize that the best thoughts are also the Truest thoughts, not just wishful thinking or positive affirmations.
Love the picture of the Grand Canyon. When I first set eyes on it in person in 2016, it was like seeing something unreal, at first my brain couldn’t grasp the beauty and vastness of it. Kind of how we are when spiritual realities begin to dawn upon us.

Due to receiving a Hostess Gift recently,
this morning I woke up with the thought

provision.

The human dream experience seems neither grand nor beautiful, beset by challenges and darkness and smallness. But real man is not subject to or governed by animal magnetism or “aggressive mental suggestion”–he (We!) are “governed by Immortal Mind.” And it is not conditional–she doesn’t say “when governed”–we are never outside of Mind. So we are never striving to become grand and beautiful–our whole true being manifests it–unconditionally. And we can demonstrate it daily.
That’s true what you said William, I had to go back and read the quote more closely. Mrs. Eddy does not say ‘when’ or ‘if’ we are governed by God, she says “Man, governed by immortal Mind…..”. She says it as a given fact. That made a difference in my understanding, which removes the striving. Sometimes one word can alter the meaning. A good reminder that keeps us on our toes to stay alert and careful in our studying.
What a beautiful photo! We rarely see sunsets like this anymore, now that our sky is filled with all the trails from the planes blocking the sun. This is such a gorgeous reminder of God’s glory, even though error is trying its hardest to fade our memories.
The beautiful and the grand can still be seen on a smaller scale, even in the smile of two strangers.

What a spectacular spiritual-Spirit View today! The photo is so magnificent
and reminds me when I was a child and a dear elderly CS friend used to
share her Arizona Highway magazines with me. I loved perusing through
the beautiful pictures like this. Such beauty in nature!
I had an experience yesterday that shows how just in the right timing, things
work out when we are reflecting God’s Love…. I was going to mow the grass
but it was still wet from the dew and having to do it before the boy across
the street comes home on the bus, where his mother waits for him on my
lawn and the road then gets busy with folks coming home from work. I
decided to take the dogs for a short ride, what they love. Coming home, I
noticed my neighbor was out leaf blowing and right near above him, that he
was oblivious to, was a not very high hanging hornet’s nest almost like wired
to the tree. I quickly went over to alert him to it, for which he was very grateful,
as he was so near it and the hornets would not be happy with him. The selfless
act of loving the dogs, brought an alert just at the right time for my neighbor’s
peace.

Impressive, majestic, magnificent, noble, of great importance, complete, very good, splendid, glorious. Certainly, no matter the human picture, we have something to celebrate today!

The eternality of this phenomenal photo resonates with me in the
expanse of it’s depth and beauty. The chipping away of “time” has
only increased its loveliness. I love how the trees/shrubs at the edge
survive with seemingly limited subsistence. With each blessing we
are experiencing in our lives, each Truth, each stream of ongoing
persistence that courses through our thought, we are layer by layer
carving away the mortal limitations that would curtail our progress into
becoming, like Michaelangelo’s sculptures in marble, where he once
said or wrote that he chips away all that shouldn’t be there until the
perfection he is acheiving shines through… (paraphrasing)… an ongoing
challenge I believe we all are striving for.
