Turn on the news, read the newspaper, check the News Feed on your smartphone, and reports about the coronavirus are everywhere. They have dominated headlines for weeks now.
But they don’t have to dominate your thought!
What the world needs now is not more consciousness of suffering, fear and disease, but more spiritual mindedness that heals suffering, fear and disease.
To contribute to quicker healing around the world, let Truth dominate your mental attention and grab your point of view.
Truth is what heals!
Mary Baker Eddy wrote, “It is well to be calm in sickness; to be hopeful is still better; but to understand that sickness is not real and that Truth can destroy its seeming reality, is best of all, for this understanding is the universal and perfect remedy” (Science and Health, p. 393).
It’s important to know what is happening with our neighbor so that we can help them in times of need. But once we know the need, it’s time to get attention riveted on the truth that heals. This is that time!
Let messages of truth and love from God occupy the headlines of your thought, and you will sooner contribute to a restoration of health and peace around the world.
What a lovely thought Evan, to allow TRUTH influence our thought and not the HEADLINES OF THE NEWS going around.
If we keep our thought and consciousness filled with the Truth, the allness of God and the nothingness of evil, disease and death the news of Coronavirus cannot dominate our thinking. But with our pure spiritual thoughts and prayers we can help in the healing process and be instumental in restoring health and peace in the world.

Every time the name or symbol or the image of this man made evil appears, refuse to repeat it! Don’t give it a place in your thought to dwell. Remember you can’t make a zero stand for any thing, till you put a one in front of it. Don’t you ever be the one!
It’s trying to occupy our thoughts and impress us with a power apart from God. As though it has an intelligence and a real presence in the earth that God made..
It’s a war with materiality. We will win when we occupy the high ground. And rise way above it.
II Timothy 1:7 is mentioned time and time again in testimonies of great healing.
It was pointed out to me by a dedicated practitioner, a simple statement of irreversible and omnipotent Truth is always enough. One declaration of omnipotent Truth moves mountains of error.
Don’t give this error a title, nor an image in thought. Erase it completely. “Be wise as a serpent and as gentle as a dove.”
When a friend was taken to the hospital, I first started to cry, then speaking with a practitioner, I was told “what kind of image are you engraving upon your thought? Right away I decided to change this image of a fallen friend to one of fond remembrance.. They didn’t have a diagnosis of his difficulty till he was well enough to go home! I received a call from him just yesterday in the best of spirits. We had a great talk. All through this experience his business stayed open and productive! And he is well.
“Be not overcome of error, but overcome error with Truth” Jas 3:17
“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.”

Last week or so there was a blog topic on praying with sincerity and I commented how I thought I had been praying with sincerity about the C-19 pandemic to see instead the unreality of that claim because of God’s all powerful Love and control. But then when I went to the supermarket I entertained suggestions of how people not wearing masks were at risk. I viewed those suggestions of others being in danger coming to me as an indication that I needed to pray more sincerely. Since writing that comment I’ve had additional inspiration about that experience.
It occurred to me that when thinking about the story of Jesus being tempted of the devil (see Matt 4:1-11) that the Bible tells us Jesus had fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. I’ve learned that references to fasting in the Bible refer to prayer (see the following for example).

After praying non-stop for 40 days and nights (or an extended period of time), even Jesus, as great of an understanding of God that he had, was tempted to believe suggestions coming to him as his own thought were true. That made me aware that prayer doesn’t always PREVENT us from receiving suggestions of error. In some cases prayer does prevent those suggestions. But in other cases prayer instead PREPARES us to refute the evil suggestions that may come to our thinking. So now after I pray if I still hear suggestions of negative headlines coming to my thought, I think “Ah Ha! Those are not my thoughts at all because my thoughts come from Mind, God,” and then I remember something from my prayer that corrects those erroneous thoughts.
If negative thoughts from the headlines or some other source continue to fill your thought, don’t feel guilty. You don’t have to entertain those thoughts as your own. Instead refute those thoughts as having any truth because they are suggesting something that God would never cause!

Today’s powerful message and expansive additions from Viewers of Spirit really lifted me out of a dark well into which I had fallen yesterday. I had been given some very disturbing “news” that I accepted (then) as being true.

Notice how often “the mask” is mentioned. A mask only covers up the Truth and is used to masquerade reality which exists now.

What a timely topic and thanks to all for your sharings, especially the links from Kirsten and Brian to articles so applicable now though written years ago. I wonder if Donald M. Swinney is related to Mark Swinney – does anyone know? I don’t recall seeing his name before.
I live in Southern California, and although I choose not to listen to the news relating to
the virus on TV, I am grateful to our govenor for his daily updates to the many who want to stay informed. As govenor, I imagine he has many other obligations.
Years ago I asked a Christian Science practioner, who was a friend of the family, to help me. I was having trouble on my job faced being fired. She asked me to read pages 390 – 393 in the S&H everyday, ending with the above paragraph of Mary Baker Eddy’s. Within weeks, the discord disppeared, and I began to love my job and my work was praised by my manager. I was encouraged to take on new responsibilities in my job.
Evan, the above quote by Mary Baker Eddy is one of my favorite statements. You also answered one question of mine on how we should be aware of what is happening in the world so we can help by replacing those thoughts with the Truth to heal. Thank you.

Christ is truth. And a short, but to this toppic relevant passsage from Science and Health by MBEddy comes to my thought from page 583. CHRIST: The divine manifestation of God, which comes to the flesh to destroy incarnate error.” Isn`t that what we deeply desire and need during this special time .
Good news for Germany. We are now allowed to hold church services again but but must sit with about 2 metres distance from each other. But that is progress in the thinking of our polititions. And we can know that God is the only law giver and is in control of every step of His image and likeness, man.
