Live new every day

January 9, 2023 | 26 comments

What happened yesterday does not determine what can happen today, for you are not a product of time.
You are a creation of God.

What you have with God is as full as ever. It wasn’t missing yesterday, and it’s not missing today.

Enjoy it!

  1. Complete trust, lack of outlining, or fear or limitations! That’s what the picture of this child perfectly portrays to me, to illustrate the truth of eternal freshness of new opportunity, and unfailing confidence in Love, Life, Mind, controlling and directing each aspect of our lives, and of each other’s course, as well. Thank you for sharing this perfectly freeing concept, beautifully illustrated in a child’s pure and unwavering trust in our Father, Mother God’s Love. Thank you, Evan, and Happy New Year to all here in 2023! God bless us, everyone!

  2. Renewal is for all. History does not equal destiny. We are never limited to the past— or stories about it. We are never limited by our fears of the future. Most of us eventually do what was impossible before; we learn to turn over, sit up, crawl, stand, walk, talk, and control our bladder. And if that is eventually reversed, we never lose tge truth and heart— the caring, self-control, wisdom, and the character growth we developed. We learn to love and forgive and give grace, no matter what. Far greater accomplishments than walking and talking.

Each day, each hour, each situation and relationship and moment is an opportunity to change the way we think and act. Repentance is the entry to healing and heaven. Repentance is the way to discover who we really are, and to experience the joy that none can take away…. The reason for hope, the opportunity and foundation and food for fresh new beginnings.

  3. Thank you Evan and all. When I first learned that all that seemed to have happened never really happened and that Love was never absent I was speechless. I recently shared this thought with my son. It is a life changer if we can hang on to it in consciousness. Thank you for the reminder.

    1. I loved how you put it, Nadine. Yes, it’s wonderful. That’s why it’s never ever “too late” for healing because it’s not correcting something that “is” or that “happened”… because it never happened!! So it’s only correcting a misunderstanding! and this can always always be done (and has nothing to do with time either, which is also a misunderstanding of Reality.)

  4. Thank you Ev an. Great expectations as we wait on God every moment to see more of the Christ’s re-appearing which fills us with joy and satisfaction.

  5. Thank you, Edie, for your inspired follow-on to what Evan so lovingly shared with all of us today in the forever beautiful NOW!

  6. When I see the comment of Grace regarding “to wait in God…”, I remember a wonderful passage from Science and Health on p. 323: “Beholding the infinite tasks of truth, we pause, – wait on God. Then we push onward, until boundless thought walk enraptured, and conception unconfined is winged to reach the divine glory.”
It is such a wonderful passage to progress through God’s powerful guidance!

Thank you very much Evan, for the refreshing spiritual views and foto of
    today. ♡

  7. Children express such joy and in-the-momentness and in their natural
innateness, do not worry about tomorrow. We are all children
    of God’s Love.
From Hymn 350, “We expect a bright tomorrow,
    All will be well…
    Happy still, in God confiding…
While His Truth we are applying,
    And upon His love relying,
    God is every need supplying,
    All, all [IS] well.”

    1. Thank you, Martine, for linking to this wonderful article. I was especially taken with the nowness and permanency of the thoughts presented.
The article includes this from SH: “The true consciousness is the true health,”3 writes Mrs. Eddy. Entertaining this higher sense of health is curative. “Establish the scientific sense of health,” Mrs. Eddy tells us, “and you relieve the oppressed organ.” Then not only relief comes, but healing. “The inflammation, decomposition, or deposit will abate, and the disabled organ will resume its healthy functions.”

The truths given us by Mrs Eddy are so healing in all ways. The Scientific Statement of Being is augmented with: “Knowing the claim of animal magnetism, that all evil combines in the belief of life, substance, and intelligence in matter, electricity, animal nature, and organic life, who will deny that these are the errors which Truth must and will annihilate?” (SH 450:29–2)

The lesson this week tells us that “a spiritual idea has not a single element of error” so the ideas expressed above cover any error that would try to present itself. If it is not true now, it never was and cannot be in the future and has no place in our lives.

Evan, thank you so much for the freedom expressed in the childlike thought flying down the hill enjoying the nowness of the good life we all have. What joy!!! Nothing missing today or tomorrow, just permanent and constant good!!

    1. Thanks very much dear J for linking to this wonderful article by Jill Gooding. As it is late Evening presently here, I printed it out in order to read it soonest and give it to church friends.
Am utmost grateful for this loving SpiritView family and all the inspired comments! 🙂

  8. Thank you Evan and All! And that you Martine and J for sharing the wonderful articles. The Jill Gooding article had a reference to a Sentinel Radio program so I looked that up and you can listen to it using the link below:

Here are two quotes from Jill from this program which I thought fit in well with Evan’s topic today:
    ————–
Whatever comes into our experience…am I seeing this as a stepping stone or a stumbling block…am I seeing it as a “trial” or a “proof of God’s care”?
    ————–
If we welcome every new chapter in our lives as a stepping stone to greater good, rather than as a sort of stumbling block that we can’t face, we will see those evidences of God’s goodness in new forms with us every moment.
    ————–
Happy Monday Everyone! Enjoy seeing God’s proof of care in your experience today!!!

        1. Cannot say it better ! thank you RH for this great radio program, thank you Evan for this inspired post and thank you all for your insights and comments also quite inspiring.

    1. Thank you, J, for the link to the article and RH, for the link to Sentinel Watch podcast. I love those.

It is so inspiring to know that we always have a fresh start with God. It expresses “nowness” so well. From the article: “Clearly, there’s always one anchor in our life that never changes. This is our indissoluble link with our Father-Mother God, and our never-changing, stable identity as His children.”

      Happy “NOW” year.

  9. Thank you dear Evan for this, especially for including the sentence “You are a creation of God.” In reading that, I just felt it through and through and it brought awe and joy.
