  1. As I read Science and Health’s chapter of Fruitage I find on page 657 this comment from a person who was healed of a number of ailments. “Christain Science has proved to be an ever-present help, not only in overcoming physical ailments, but in business and daily life. It has also overcome a great sense of fear. The Bible, which I regarded with suspicion has become my guide, and Christianity has become a sweet reality, because the Christain Science textbook has indeed been a “Key to the Scriptures” and has breathed through the Gospel pages a sweet sense of harmony.
Thank you Evan for your loving messages that confirm this truth to our present age and circumstances for which I am most grateful.

  2. Thanks Angie for reminding me of the true meaning of the sermon on the mount, which i always read, but have never gone so deep in it’s meanings.Although, it most important lessons in Christian science.

  3. No button mentioned in the Bible. No word fastener, nor fastened. But there is SECURE…

    Button; knob, catch, disk; fastener.
    Synonym; close, clasp, make firm…..
“On the button” Correctly, precisely, accurately, exactly.

Proverbs 3: 29 Devise not evil against thy neighbor, seeing he dwelleth *securely by thee.

    Job 11:
14 If iniquity be in thy hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.
15, For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be steadfast, and shalt not fear.
16, Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that that pass away.
    17. And thine age shall be clearer than noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning
18, And thou shalt be *secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.
    19, Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid;

    Buttons colorful, many baskets full,
    Plenty enough, keeping garments true,
Fastening them upon me and you.

    Love for this morning…..

    1. I was awakened earlier by my dogs barking at roaming cats. Before going back to bed I checked this, my favorite morning site. Have been smiling ever since seeing the delightful picture, followed by the reading of David’s charming poem, and then resting in the knowledge of our heavenly Father’s fastening the truth of His Allness snuggly “upon me and you.”. Thank you!

    2. Oh what delightful ideas and thoughts. The ideal is the Christ. And I see that the Christ Is like buttons! Christ fastens the true idea to each one of us.
I awoke with an unexplained and unwelcome sadness. But as I dressed myself with Spiritview, I have put on the incorruptible and put off the corruptible. Thank you!

  4. I also check SpiritView every morning, often finding much needed comfort and I thank you all. Concerned to be disturbed by the quote this morning- working to put down lies about myself and life.. stress seems to try to make me act differently than what is in my heart…working hard to know nothing of good, God can ever be lost. Thanks for Job citations to calm my thought.

    1. Dear CW,
When I was a child, even now with my grandchildren we spin larger buttons. On the table or when real ambitious threading a string through the button holes and tying it to create a “Hummer”. I think we all did this at one time or another.
After I read your comment it came to me that one should put a positive “SPIN” on our button game. If the button is off balance then it will not spin. If the flick of the finger doesn’t greet the button correctly it doesn’t spin, but falls. Then we must try again, to gain the desired result.
With every challenge listen for that positive “spin” and it will make a glade game out of controlling discord with happy results.
The happy and confident face one displays when confronted with stressful situations will negate adversity.
Always be grateful for you know just how God operates through enlightened thought.
Always put the positive “spin” on every thing.
      Blessings…David

    2. CW thanks for your heartfelt comments. I understand what you’ve said about today’s quote causing you concern that stress (mortal mind) tries to make you act differently than your high ideals. Error would love to come in the back door and take something good, like a quote on Spiritview, and use it against us to make us feel bad. Our ideals come from God and He does the heavy lifting to keep us on the right path and keep our thoughts in the right place as we turn to Him. I also “work hard” and strive a lot, way too much, instead of remembering to rest in His loving arms and on only His interpretation of everything I encounter each day.

    3. Hi CW, I’m thinking of an article that has helped me with many challenges. It’s all about yielding to God, really understanding that God is all and is doing all for you. So you don’t have to hold the weight of stress or whatever on your shoulders. The author is dealing with a relationship problem, but the “yielding to God” concept Works in any situation we’re dealing with. Also these quotes came to mind:

“be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s” II Chronicles 20:15 (be)
“You shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you…” Ii Chronicles 20:17 (you)

How can I deal with relationship problems?

      1. Trista, thank you for those two verses from II Chronicles on being still and leaning on God. So perfect for me and for all of us in these times.

      2. Thank you Trista for the article and reminding me of those two verses in IIChronicles that I love and often refer people to myself!!

  5. Joyful, happy colors greeting us today ! We ARE all these things and more – being our unique selves!
We are the light of the world
    LET our light shine !
LET this Mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus .

  6. Reading Spiritview this morning with a smile and a sense of delight. My little dog at my feet looking up to me with his warm button eyes. Great anticipation for a day filled with joy and spiritual progress. And the most earnest, heartfelt tender love for this family of truth seekers. Life is sooo good!!

  7. Thank you, Evan, David, and everyone! Great reminders that all is under the direction of the one Mind, one Love–and that all is ever well!

  8. it was my grandma’s button drawer that I loved as a child! It was her who gave me my 1st own copy of Science and Health!

  9. There are many worldly ideals begging/tempting us to follow them and if we aren’t careful we can start to become mesmerized by them or seemingly lose ourselves in the sea of them. But as Christian Scientists, we keep our eyes fixed on Godly ideals. Then we experience peace, joy, health, happiness, love, comfort, etc. Like the one smiling button in the photo amongst the sea of other buttons.

    1. Thank you Trista. As I looked at the picture of buttons, I noticed the lone smiling button as well. It reminded me that no matter how many other opinions or problems there are in the world, we can meet them with the smiles of Love and Truth, compassion and justice.
Thank you Evan and all commenters for your continued thought provokers. We are indeed blessed.

  10. This morning’s photo & quote reminded me of the Hymn #20 and#416.

“Be true and list the voice within…Be true unto thy high ideal…Thy perfect self that knows no sin
That self that is the only real”

    Thank you all!

  11. Deb…I relate to what you wrote about your grandma’s button drawer. My mom had a nice beautiful tin full of assortment of buttons. I would take that tin out occasionally and play with the buttons, putting them into categories, building towers, etc. I still love to reminisce about those buttons which gave me quiet times and open up imaginations. Thank you Evan and all for the lovely experience of opening up Spiritview every morning to see what Evan has revealed to us, and then onto the comments for the most delightful additions to the topics. I am most grateful.

  12. Thanks everyone for the comments on the “buttons” as we often hear of our “buttons being pushed” and it sets off unpleasant feelings. We can push back with joy, love, kindness, and a dismissal of unwanted thoughts or pushed buttons and drink in the joy our heavenly Father-Mother God has for all of us. Yes, I also remember the sewing box with all the many buttons. I have a small one myself and it always brings me joy to see the many different buttons in the box. Thanks to all the happy thoughts today and Evan’s many buttons. So colorful.
    Blessing to all.
