Love generously

Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help.

~ Isaiah 58:7

  1. The reward for this is found in the next verses 8-14 in Isaiah-then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth……thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy rereward (rear guard) the blessings continue – it is a wonderful read in the verses following till one gets to verse 14 — Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth….. Thank you Evan for todays Spirit View. Gratitude for all we have and share blesses both the giver and receiver.

    1. I forgot to mention my husband and I donate our abundance of fresh farm eggs to the charity kitchen in the main town near where we live. Usually 150 to 200 fresh farm eggs. We feel so blessed to be able to do this.

    2. Early early morning but Suzie, those verses are breaking open the darkness of the night. Love, love, l o v e brings us blessings, onward, backward, upside, down. . .Isaiah has a wealth of keys to healing, and blessing us all. Makes me feel much higher today. Thank you!

  2. Thanks Evan, love today’s SpiritView.
    Thank you for sharing generously.

I also like the word delicious.
I might say it was a delicious
    weather day,, a delicious book,
    get together …
A delicious day of seeing Love
    expressed generously.
    Happy delicious, generous love day.

    1. I like your take on the word delicious, MB. I had always thought of that word
as being food related, In looking closer at the photo, I see, although a bountiful
table, there is little that is edible. I looked up the definition of “delicious” and it
is: ” delightful, exquisite, lovely, pleasurable, pleasant, heavenly, divine.” Those
are all attributes to share and love generously – holding hands and feasting
Spiritually .. as it were. Loving others, even if remotely with spiritual food,
God’s sheltering peace … warmth through divine Love.
We are all “relatives” of each other – being all created by God – thus, His children,
brothers and sisters, even if we may not have mortally, a family to “relate” to. We
are all included in God’s Universal family.

      1. Thank you Angel for really see that relationship
Even we don’t have a proper family.
We are all “relatives” of each other – being all created by God – thus, His children,
brothers and sisters, even if we may not have mortally, a family to “relate” to. We
are all included in God’s Universal family.
Thanks to all for your infinite perception for good and see our progress, individual and global..

  3. Last week when the topic on Spiritview was Thrive in Love I asked God to show me how I could help someone that day. That morning an email was sent to me where writer said they were on the phone guiding a family member how to get thru challenging financial situation by doing things in bite-sized pieces. It was illustrating a point we were discussing about facing logistical challenges in life. I was able to help her family member out that day as my checking account had more than usual. With some food costs doubling, those on fixed incomes have a challenge. My father left a modest amount of money when he passed on last spring. He has a friend who gets $800 a month Social Security and that’s it. I send them money monthly for food and small expenses. The friend cries and says they wouldn’t have been able to buy much food that month if they hadn’t received the money. It’s a creative and fun challenge to economize to have money to be generous with others. We only have one car now which saves a car payment, insurance and taxes. We buy used cars – the last one was 4 years old and only had 10k miles on it. We’d been looking at buying a car for about a year visting dealerships, watching sales, and it came in the week we learned our old car was no longer drivable. We drove it for about 15 minutes and bought it, knowing it was the right one. By living simply, but not feeling deprived, there is money to help others. I ask God to show me how to use resources wisely.

  4. Hi Evan. I’m inquiring about “keeping the inspiration going” with adding a hymn from the Christian Science Hymnal, a poem or article from the Christian Science Sentinel or Journal to your blog. Could you please check with your contacts in Legal at The Mother Church and The Christian Science Publishing Society to see if there are any copyright issues for either your site or the person posting? Thank you.

    1. Hi J,

To answer your question, many of the hymns are copyrighted. If you quote a verse or sentence, you’re fine. I do not know which are copyrighted and which are not.

I believe that all the content published by the Christian Science Publishing Society in their periodicals is copyrighted. Again, you’re safe if you quote a sentence or two and give credit to the source. Links to their articles are safe because you are directing the reader to their site.

Original content is always the best. You reflect the one Mind that is full of original inspiration! Thanks.

      1. You are clear, on how to use our copyrighted “quotes”. Safely using a sentence or two, while at the same time giving credit seems clear. I love reflecting on what pops up first, then after typing in the ideas to learn which ones feel most helpful, are used. Thank you.

  5. Thank you, Evan for today’s inspiration and thank you all for additional shared ideas.
Love can also be given, with whatever around us is needing it, and domestic animals can
also be included in this need for food, shelter, as well as wildlife – birds, bees – through
helping in providing them with plants for sustenance, which in turn, they provide us with
nature’s blessings and food, a symbiotic sharing that benefits all. To give generously ..
there are so many ways and we always get back more than we give, when given sincerely.
Like the way dogs give unconditionally, we, too, can express this Love and be a part of
feeding the famished affections or any other need that the world today is craving for, be it
    humanly or spiritually.

    1. Carol thanks for, “we always get back more than we give, when given sincerely.” It is not ideal to give in a transactional way, quid pro quo, give only to get, but sincerely, from our giving heart, which God blesses us all with (even those that don’t appear so when observed from a human perspective). Our giving heart is there if we are willing to uncover it.

      1. Dear Rose, I want to thank you (also Carol, Cheryl, katherine, Kay & Uta) for reaching out, advocating and seeking clarification for this site. It was very loving, thoughtful, compassionate, caring and kind; and truly encapsulates what SV is all about. It would be great to see Evan’s comment about his site posted on his blog, because it is very inspirational and keeps thought attuned: “The site is for seekers of Truth. It’s a place to show love, express love, and feel love. It’s about healing! Healing with Love!” (from Evan)

Much love and many blessings to all!

      2. Thank you Rose, Pp and J . Yes, the lovingkindness and
compassion and pure generosity of spiritual thought
expressed here is so heart warming. I thank you all,
including Evan – for giving us this platform for us to
generously love and share with each other.

  6. I think it is important to contribute in some way to those who are least fortunate. Itis most important to contribute metaphysically, but also to help financially, if we are able, to those struggling.

    1. Thank you so much Cheryl for sharing these two excellent articles. I enjoyed them and look forward to re-reading them tonight. Both are thought-provoking and a great tie-in to Evan’s topic.
