Love God’s ideas rather than money

October 3, 2022 | 18 comments

“Those who love money will never have enough” (Eccl. 5:10, NLT).

Do you have enough money? If you’re tempted to answer, “No!” it’s an opportunity to understand real wealth.

Real wealth is not money that comes and goes. It’s inspired ideas coming from God that leads one to make wise decisions that bring good results.

The better question is, “Do I have enough ideas coming from God to know how to demonstrate financial dominion?” And the answer is always “Yes!”

It may take humility to admit those ideas and readily receive them, but that’s okay. Humility is the substance of great wealth. Exercise it abundantly, and you’ll find more than enough ideas coming from God to demonstrate wealth that pays the bills.

  1. Thank you for this helpful idea this morning! As my employment currently seems somewhat suddenly a bit tentative. I especially appreciate the thought of having enough support and supply of abundant ideas from God to meet all current and future needs of every kind@!
Thank you again and I will take this idea with me today wherever and however our Mother Love takes and leads me today and every day!
    Blessings to all here@

  2. Such wisdom today to start a new week. Love the emphasis on humility, “humility is the substance of great wealth.” It is the substance of great amounts of all of God’s provisions for His children. We need to acknowledge, gratefully, our full dependence on God and not think that we ourselves, humanly, are the doers of our lives.
Also liked, “real wealth is not money that comes and goes.” Whatever seems to come and go is matter based and unreal. God and His good do not come and go or fluctuate, they are reliable and stable for us to lean upon.

  3. Wait a minute…what?? Those little pieces of paper that the world seems to bow down to aren’t more important than learning how to listen to God? The US currency hasn’t been backed by the gold standard since 1971 so they truly are little pieces of paper backed by the faith in the US government. So, if the US government failed the currency would too. Not much to rely on there but listening to God to learn the skills of how to serve others needs cannot be lost regardless of if a government succeeds or fails. And, God never fails to provide us with those ideas. The day is filled with exciting opportunities! Mary Baker Eddy says on page 454 of Science and Health, “Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way.” Are you listening to Love? Because it is way more fun to listen to Love than mortal opinions of lack.
    Some fun careers of people I have met;
A women who gets to hike listening for birdsong and recording what birds are in the area.
A professional athlete that manufacturers go to to test and improve their gear. He tests it in the field and gives them feedback on it. He is also an instructor in his field.

  4. I had a meditation teacher ,who was a Jain monk ,many years ago. When I complained about money he answered. Money comes money goes; that’s its nature. It always makes me laugh to think of that when the right amount of money is provided and then off it goes .
I had a year of abundance when it didn’t seem that way that humbled us and brought a satisfying joy at the love and care expressed.

    1. Nadine, loved your input about complaining about money, and your meditation teacher’s answer “money comes money goes; that’s its nature”
My humbling experience with money is that it grows, so today my deepest gratitude is for the abundant supply, Joyfully and lovingly the money which grows continues to provide for the needs of our family whose needs are as expected and a supply is present. Today I’m celebrating with the lift love gives.

  5. Humility

    “God gave me love,
And love then brought to me
    The richest of all gifts—humility.”

  6. Spiritual Ideas = Supply
Supply may be “loaves and fishes!”
    It may be…peace of mind!
It may be a neighbor showing up with a bag of fruit off her tree!
    It may be….SPIRITVIEW.net !!

I’m gonna wake up some more to this divine fact: DIVINE MIND SUPPLIES ALL GOOD!!!!!

  7. Loving and understanding my Father-Mother God, my own healing , loving my neighbor as .myself, loving my church and dear members is all more valuable than all money in the world!!!
If we are in need of money, I believe God can give us abundantly spiritually what we need; see the multiplying of the fishes and loafs by Jesus and the experience of Elisah with the widow and her sun multiplying the oel they needed, and so as Evan several times is explaining us, by spiritual ideas coming from God.
Yes, we must demonstrate that, but it’s possible.

Thank you all, so interesting and helpful!♡
Thank you very much Evan for your so healing SpiritView today and always!♡

    1. Wow, I just think about this wonderful idea Evan gives us here, namely that we’ll find more than enough ideas coming from God to demonstrate wealth that pays the bills; a wonderful truth.
I should really be aware of the many ideas from God to pay for instance the electric bill which is meanwhile 3 times more expensive than 1 1/2 year ago. However let’s trust our overrich loving God fully and we are all blessed!-♡

  8. I had a wonderful job for several years and was cut in a down-sizing. Anxious thoughts wanted to take hold with worry about interviews and money, but I realized that it was really an opportunity to take thought higher. It was also a lesson in faith and trust, that I’ve come back to time and again. I had to let go of fear and outlining and know that God puts us where He/She needs us to be. Each morning I would pray, “okay Father/Mother, I’m going to listen and let You lead.” And when we understand that our “job” is really to glorify God and be of service to others, everything falls into place in ways that we never could have imagined or outlined. My current job is perfect for me in every way, and has exceeded meeting my needs. I am so grateful.

  9. “GOD IS, THIS ISN’T AND THAT’S THAT!” Put this statement on one of your kitchen cabinets and say it out loud OFTEN!
GOD is always taking care of us all the time and in every way. Since we are God’s child, he only knows Love for us and ALL our financial and personal needs are met at just the right time every minute of every day!

  10. I am so grateful that God supplies our every need. I have had so many proofs of this. Thanks, Evan for the reminder.

  11. This is an excerpt from Spirituality.com by Marian English, “Peace that destroys fear”. You can listen to it or scroll down and read it if you like:

Spirituality.com host: We have a question from Victoria: “I still worry with my fear about not being able to pay my bills. I’m divorced, and not able to go to work. I still wait for the Lord to come and help me, but it seems like it’s been such a long time. How can I help with that persistence?”

Marian: I’ve been there too, at a time when I didn’t know where the next house payment was going to come from, I didn’t know if we were going to be able to buy food for the children. I learned that supply is not confined to a paycheck or a pension or wherever we expect it.

There’s a marvelous passage that Mary Baker Eddy has given to us in her Miscellaneous Writings. On page 307 she writes, “God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies. Never ask for tomorrow: it is enough that divine Love is an ever-present help; and if you wait, never doubting, you will have all you need every moment.”

There’s a story about a man who was out of a job, and out of money, and out of patience; he had nothing but time on his hands, so he prayed. He said “God, what’s a million years to you?” And God said, “Why, a million years to me is just a second.” And he said, “God, what is a million dollars to you?” And God said, “A million dollars to me is like a penny.” And the man said, “Well, God, could I have a penny?” And God said “Why certainly, my son. Just a second.”

God is not going to give us money, but God will give us the ideas that bring us the supply we need. That supply is not confined to finances; it’s a supply of peace that brings us joy. It’s a supply of love that destroys fear. It’s a supply of inventive ideas that keep us from limitation and lack.
