  1. Wonderful Evan, as David said, “beautifully simple”.

The date today, as written UK style, 12.1.21, is a palindrome, like a deer stalker or “coming and going hat” the same both ways.

    Simple, balanced, equal, peaceful . . .

To quote dear Isaiah, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

    1. Simply wonderful example of finding today and everyday beautiful, balanced, simple, as well as peaceful. Thank you for spotlighting the date, a palindrome too, That was an eye opener.

  2. Thank you for this guidance today Evan….
I have this bible verse by my kitchen sink…a place I seem to visit more than enough each day!

‘ Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing Love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.’ Ps 143.v8.

    Love to all❣️

  3. New things, ringing out the old and ringing in the new! A new Year to express all the good we have for giving. All the Truth we have for living.
Thank you, our light to follow! It’s a good thing!

  4. There a beauty gospel hymn sung by George Beverly Shea that includes these reassuring words:

“ I don’t know what the future holds but I know who holds the future.”

Could there be a more comforting thought than my future is solidly in my Father’s hands?

  5. I have a post it note on my office wall that I find assuring, helpful, and hopeful which simply says:

    THE FUTURE BELONGS TO GOD!

  6. Thank you, Evan, for your wonderful article linked from this week’s Bible Lens for the lesson on Life.
And also thanks to John and Barbara for sharing favorite thoughts!

  7. I love the picture posted of someone in the forest looking up at the majesty of nature. It reminds me of thought being lifted higher to behold the beautiful Truth of God’s creation (Perfect God, perfect man/woman/child/plant/animal, perfect universe). Love and gratitude to all!

  8. I do have a technical question. I notice that when our comments here on SpiritView receive a reply, the original commenter sometimes comes back to respond to the reply, at times even a day or more later. Are these folks receiving an alert that their comment was replied to? Or do they just randomly return and come upon the reply? On some blogs there is an alert received in email. Just curious because the replies are wonderful and so good to hear how our comment has affected someone. Thanks.

      1. Thanks! I only wondered because I usually come back later the same day, but I have seen where people respond several days later — they must have gone back to the earlier posts to read or re-read. Appreciate the reply.

    1. Dear Rose,
What Evan says is right! ♡
I do so, too; before I go to bed I have another look into SpiritView, not neccessarily if someone replied to my comment, rather to see if there came further interesting comments.

  9. Dear Paula: (from yesterday’s blog) ~ could you or someone please repost the link to the article you shared, for those who do not subscribe. Thank you in advance.
Thoughts expressed here yesterday and every day in open discussion help to heal and bring peace. I believe suppression helps to hide the Truth and God’s Love for Everyone. I think that is an issue that needs healing in today’s world.
We are all so unique in God’s expression, with such appreciation of spiritual viewpoints shared here.
“God IS working His purpose out as year succeeds to year.”

  10. Love that quote Evan! The much-beloved hymn-prayer by Mary Baker Eddy titled “Mother’s Evening Prayer” came to mind as I was reading the inspired comments. The melody of Hymn 211 is a favorite. The first three words of that prayer, “O gentle presence” are so powerful. I looked up the word “gentle” in the Student’s Reference Dictionary which Mary used, and it is defined as: “well-born (that’s us!), mild, meek, soft; not rough, harsh or severe; peaceable; not wild or turbulent”. From the Hymnal Concordance comes this history. The prayer-poem first appeared in 1893. Four years prior to that there was confusion and dissension in the church organization and she dissolved many of the organizations, including the church! But out of this period came “peace and rest” because in 1893 the building of the original edifice of The Mother Church began and the first Annual Meeting was held with 1500 members present, convening in harmony.
This prayer is a promise of the good that awaits us all, including every citizen in our beloved country.
“Oh, Life divine that owns each waiting hour…”
“…Love alone is life. and life, most sweet, as heart to heart, speaks kindly when we meet and part.”
And to think of all Eddy accomplished when women did not receive the right to vote until 1920, ten years after her passing!! She definitely paved the way as a pioneer-prophet for the rights of all humankind. With gratitude and gentleness.

    1. Thank you Cathryn. I read somewhere that Mrs. Eddy was thinking of herself as the mother of the “child” of “Christian Science” (divine Science as understood humanly) when she wrote this hymn/poem. Mrs. Eddy discovered and nurtured her understanding of the Science of Christ and she nurtured the church she founded to share this Science, just like a mother nurturers a child. I always now think of Mrs. Eddy’s dedication and incredible love to mankind when I think of the Mother’s Evening Prayer hymn.

  11. I love how this week’s Bible lesson “Life” brings out the importance of new. As I counted, new song is mentioned 3, times, just new alone 6 times and newness 4 times. This is a new day in a new year, old things are passed away and all things are become new with fresh inspiration. Blessings to all!

  12. Would ad to Josephson’s verse at the end: opportunities, hidden in each new day of God.
So as Mrs. Eddy and Christ Jesus did every day let be a God governed day through their steady healing work, so we can do, too.
Thank you Evan for lifting our day into the realm of God’s day where we can progress in Spirit and Love!♡
Thx for the inspiring foto, expressing the Christ light coming through to God’s child.♡

  13. Thank you Evan. Thank you all for the inspiring wonderful thoughts. I like to read SpiritView at night. So many wonderful thoughts to absorb and ponder before going to bed!
