Netherlands wrap-up

May 9, 2013 | 2 comments

After the lecture, Kathy and I had a couple of days to enjoy a bit more of The Netherlands, and at the top of our list was Seeing More Flowers!
Bike trails are everywhere in The Netherlands. The country is extremely bike-friendly. And the land is flat, so biking is a breeze. No hills to climb!
We rented bikes again, hopped onto a train and headed out to flower country determined to see what was there.
And we were not disappointed.
The views were jaw-dropping. At least for people who delight in fields full of colorful flowers…
Daffodils and hyacinths…

And to our delighted surprise, we came across fields of early blooming tulips!  In the next post…

  1. Boy, I’ll bet that smelled wonderful. I love hyacinths, as well as other flowers. MT Vernon, WA used to have wonderful tulip fields. Maybe they don’t anymore.
    Thanks! from Spokane
