No impossible situation

We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.

~ Chuck Swindoll

God is an ever-present help. Feel free to take advantage of all your “opportunities” to prove it!

  1. Thank you, Evan. How many of us can say that we have had impossible situations…but .. thanks to your inspiration through SpiritView, we only saw them as opportunities.

Thank you, too, to all the commenters for their inspiration.

    1. “Great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.” Exactly how error tries to operate – disguising, hiding truth, trickery, tempting us to look away from the ongoing good of God, parading discordant and fearful material images in front of us. It loves to try to create a feeling of doom and defeat. Seen materially, things can at times seem impossible to resolve. Thank goodness we can “lean on the sustaining infinite,” as Mrs. Eddy says, and remember to look with spiritual sense to see that in God, truly All Is Well.
      Thank you all and love

  2. “All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all.”
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 468:10–11)
What is more brilliant than that!

    1. .ONENESS.
…In November of 1898, Mrs. Eddy communicated by telegram to 70 of her students who were already practitioners and teachers, inviting them to Pleasant View. New Hampshire, to receive what she referred to as “A Fresh Impulse.” All but two of the seventy invited were able to be present for two days of this freshness. Young James Neal from the Midwest was one of these, and his entire Notes have been published under the title “Man, the Divine Fullness.” Here is page 16-17:
“The only correct interpretation of God is God’s interpretation of Himself. It is the interpretation of divine Principle from the standpoint of Truth Itself. In this correct interpretation you find the definition of yourself as the true idea. As God’s knowledge of Himself, I, as the divine idea, know everything that is divinely true.

”The greatest reverence we can give to God is in not ascribing to ourselves a single quality which is not the nature of God. The knowledge of God is God’s knowledge, and this is man. God is forever expressing all that He is, thus constituting our joy, our peace, our harmony. Idea does not express God, — idea is God’s expressing, unlabored, free, no antagonism, no obstruction.”

  3. Such a beautiful photo to start our day thank you! Nothing is impossible to God, and we have endless opportunities of good, of healing to unfold in our lives. I love these healing thoughts!

  4. Truth! Thank you for this wonderful message of Truth this morning. And, I love your picture! I love going out hiking this time of year, especially when the huckleberries are dressed in their Fall colors along the trail. One of the most beautiful times of the year!

  5. Thank you Evan. SpiritView ALWAYS offers the inspiration I need to begin my day on the right foot! So much gratitude.

  6. FYI Chuck Swindoll is a Christian minister and Bible scholar. His writings on individual books of the Bible are worth looking at, especially if you are doing a Bible study. He has a beautiful understanding
of the great and not so well known Bible characters. He has written many books, but you can also access his writings online by typing in his name and you will be taken to his site.

  7. Once I was asked to perform a piece of music for a concert, and
when I looked at it, it seemed rather impossible for me – it
posed lots of problems for my small hands, and working out
the harmonies and structure was daunting. However, I always
have enjoyed musical challenges, and so I began to study it,
and bit by bit the solutions to the problems became apparent, and
what had seemed impossible, I found was indeed possible with God
at the helm of thought showing me what I needed to know and do.

I would not have attempted it had I not been put on the
spot. That put me into the frame of mind that looked for
the answers with the expectation that they would be
    revealed.

If we adopt the attitude of mind that focusses on God , the
divine Mind, for finding the solutions to whatever seems to be an
impossible task, God will supply the understanding and the
ability to meet that challenge. This gives one the courage to
tackle other seemingly impossible challenges, because we
know that – “With men it is impossible, but not with God: for
with God all things are possible.” (Mark 10:27)

This demonstration enabled me to face other seemingly impossible
musical challenges in the same way, and produced results which without
the divine Mind directing a and casting out fear, I would not have attempted.

  8. What radical truth we have in Christian Science. The word that stuck out to me is “free.” We truly are always free. No matter what seems to be going on around us, we have freedom of thought. Our thought can always move or change without restriction. I recently participated in a deep dive study of Genesis and Joseph just came to mind. Talk about seeming impossible situations. He proved that we can bloom wherever we are planted! He rose and fell in human status many times, but always thrived. Not that he didn’t have mental struggles, no doubt, But he was always moved forward to success. These Bible figures are real people with real challenges. How grateful we are to be hopeful and inspired by these people because of God’s great love for us all.

  9. Thank you Evan and Everyone for your comments. A little over a year ago I was faced with what appeared to be an impossible acute situation. It would take too long to go into all of the details, but when I encountered this situation this line from God’s Law of Adjustment came to mind:

“If a man were drowning in mid-ocean with apparently no human help at hand, there is a law of God which, when rightly appealed to, would bring about his rescue.”

30-40 years ago I used to play the cassette tape of God’s Law of Adjustment in my car when driving and immediately after the line above came to mind, the following two points from that article came to mind:

    1) “It is not necessary for us to know in each individual case just what this law of God is nor how it is going to operate…” (quote from article)

    2) We must not outline a solution but instead leave thought open so that God’s solution can be revealed to us.

I also thought to myself, “If I were a practitioner and someone called me with this problem, what would I do?” And the this line from S&H came to mind:

“To the Christian Science healer, sickness is a dream from which the patient needs to be awakened.” S&H p 417 20-21

I like to replace “sickness” with “any discord” when thinking of that sentence from S&H. So I knew the situation I was facing wasn’t actually “real”. It was just a dream, or illusion, from which I needed to be awakened since there could never be an instant in time when God was not already in control. So I started to pray and used the synonyms from the definition of God in S&H to awaken me to realize the harmony of God that I knew existed where the discord seemed to exist. For example, I prayed to know that since God is Love, a discordant situation could never exist because an all-powerful loving God would never allow discord to exist. I prayed to know that God is Mind/Love, Mind could never know anything unloving and therefore Mind’s idea must reflect only harmony. I prayed to know that God is Principle, and since God is infinite, there could never be a place where God’s law was not operating. I continued along these lines with Life, Truth, Spirit, and Soul. After praying like this for a couple of hours, I felt more and more peace about the situation and felt less and less personal responsibility for figuring out what I needed to do. As I continued praying for about another hour ideas came to me about what I needed to do. And using those ideas I was able to implement those ideas to resolve the situation.

It’s so wonderful that CS teaches we aren’t personally responsible for coming up with the solution to problems. God knows the solution to what appears to be every human problem and God knows the answer to what appears to be every human question. As we quiet thought from thinking WE are responsible, we will perceive the right idea of God that will enable us to know what to do in every situation.

    1. Thank you RH I was just thinking, I don’t know how to approach this, also acute, situation . . . then the thought to look at the comments in SV popped into my thought.

I am very grateful to all who comment .

  10. Thanks to all for all the good thoughts this morning. Someone once pointed out to me that it’s not my responsibility to solve problems. I just need to respond to God’s ability.

  11. Thank you Evan, this is a lovely SpiritView.

An affirmation of God’s presence in our lives, no matter what “appears” to be front of stage.

I think the photo you have used is of the peak, Buchaille Etive Mhor in Glencoe, Scotland 😉

  12. When I come face to face with a seemingly “impossible” situation I get excited. My first thought is I can’t wait to see how Divine Intelligence is going to make this possible. And I am never disappointed! With God all things are possible!!

  13. Thank you Evan, for that so refreshing foto – this evening it is very comforting for me!
And thank you for the short but pregnant SpiritView of Friday, that all things are possible with God!
I love the Bible as it teaches us God`s great Love to His creation. He promises us to be with us, to help us, to hold us firm at His hand of His rightousness, and that we must not fear. But also says the Bible that with God all Good is possible. Yes and Mrs. Eddy explaines us spiritually what the Bible tells us. For instance she says … God can prepare a table in the desert, what cannot God do? Yes, for God all Good is possible because He is Omnipotence, omniacting, the All-in-All.
Thank you all for such a lively and inspiring commentation in this SpiritView Blog!
