No shortages in Mind

November 26, 2021 | 20 comments

There is concern about shortages showing up this Christmas season as shoppers head to the stores for holiday purchases.

Hundreds of container ships are anchored at sea around the world unable to unload at port. Raw materials for making products are in short supply in some cases. There’s a worldwide chip shortage, bottlenecks in the supply chain, a shortage of truck drivers in the United States, anyway, and other factors contributing to an unpredictable flow of goods from sellers to buyers.

It’s an opportunity to know that there is no shortage of any good thing in the economy of divine Mind!

Real supply is always spiritual. It’s wisdom, understanding, creative insight, intelligence, love, patience, and gratitude, flowing from divine Mind that meets the most basic of human needs.

When we make seeking spiritual mindedness a priority, and seek the things of the Spirit, above the things of the world, we’ll have what we need to keep moving forward in a happy healthy way. In Truth, we are spiritual beings, and it’s the things of the Spirit that we need most to thrive and prosper.

The temporal things will come when absolutely needed, but in the meantime, we can remain calm, content, patient, and trusting that everything works together for good. We might learn, in some cases, that what we thought was necessary to have materially, is not so necessary at all. Divine Mind is infinitely creative and may have other ways to meet our need that we hadn’t considered in the past.

There is never a shortage of any good thing coming from God. Welcome God’s goodness into your life and enjoy a bountiful holiday season.

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work” (II Corinthians 9:8)

  1. We must not get caught in the opinions of the material world but rise above them to what is the true facts of life we are never in short supply . Love is never in short supply neither is his grace. Lindalou

  2. Two verses came to mind:
—No good thing does He withhold from His children who walk in His ways.. (Psalms 84:11)
—And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God. (Romans 8:28)

Thanks for emphasizing that perhaps we don’t need many of the material things “the world” says we need, and maybe we can consider giving simpler, more heartfelt gifts to those on our holiday list, (as God may inspire us).

Hope everyone had a peaceful and Love-filled Thanksgiving yesterday (and continuing every day)! The outpouring of gratitude messages on SV yesterday was so beautiful; humbling to be in the midst of such uplifted thought.

  3. Thank you Evan. The 23rd Psalm has been my go to for this suggestion that we don’t have enough or know enough. Mrs Eddy’s version in Science and Health lifts it up even to a higher sense. Changing it also to our and us or we helps to see the unierality of this Truth. What a blessing each day is. Thank you all.

  4. Feeding the five thousand. “Jesus fed the five
thousand because of the abundance in his thinking. The disciples could not because of the lack in theirs “
    Hargreaves.

“I would maintain that thanks are the highest form
of thought, and that gratitude is happiness doubled
    by wonder.”
    G. K. Chesterton

  5. What an abundance of good in the SpiritView message and comments this morning..
I especially love the comment that the abundance of good in Jesus thinking allowed him to feel the feed the five thousand..
Great joy have they who know the Lord.. who know God is the source of infinite good..
No lack or limitation in the lives of those who know God is our unlimited source of good and gives us all we need every moment.

  6. Look onto the Divine Principle of Love, the Spirit of Truth, the Mind of Soul, the Life of man. Always active, always available, all powerful being in whom is all identity which nothing can erase. Eternal in the Heavens. Where there is no lack.

  7. A statement offered at a testimony meeting many years ago remains with me:
“The flow of good from the open fount of infinite Love
Is inexhaustible, it is never checked – for nothing can vitiate its purpose!”
(My apologies – I cannot attribute this.)

  8. I like this Bible passage from Romans 12:1-2, JB Phillips:
“Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into it’s own mould, but let God remake you so that your whole attitude of mind is changed.”
Fear, at the moment in the world, so wants to “squeeze” mankind into a sense of lack and sickness. How grateful I am that my sense of God’s supply and well -being are spiritual and cannot be squeezed into the material way of thinking, that I have the mind of Christ. Nothing can I lack. My supply and well-being are spiritual and in infinite supply!

    1. There is especially a fear of being squeezed out of a job; and so I really appreciate you sharing this thought Bev. Thank you.
I didn’t have an opportunity to join in on expressing my gratitude for Spirit View on Thanksgiving, so doing so today. 🙂 Spirit View is such a blessing! Great commentary from Evan, and what an abundance of really helpful comments. Many thanks to all.

  9. Thank you Evan, for reminding us of God infinite Love and care for His children, therefore we can never be lacking in anything.
He supplies all our needs for which we should be grateful.

  10. Wonderful reminder, Evan! Each one already has what is needed, not only for Christmas but for each day. Thank you for this comforting, healing message.

  11. Thank you Evan for your message and everyone for your comments on this SpiritView. While many others are suffering from the belief of lack this Black Friday, those of us who have drunk from this fountain of God’s healing waters are refreshed & find the abundance of His blessings in His Eternal Light now & for ever. Let us freely share this healing Truth during this holiday season.

  12. This just came to thought. There was no room
in the Inn because a better place was provided.
A quiet sanctuary away from the noisy crowd.
There was room for safety, quietude, rest. A
sheltering space, when it appeared that lodging
    was unavailable.

    1. M, I love this higher view! Thank you for sharing this wonderful thought. It also reminded me of how obedient and receptive Mary, Joseph, and the Three Wise Men were.

  13. That is a great thought in the quotation you wrote Bev. Let us not be swayed by the worldly view that Christmas is all about buying gifts. it is not unless such gifts are of the spiritual nature. While Evan is correct in his analysis of the supply chain situation, in reality since the only gifts that matter are those that have nothing to do with matter, one need not be concerned with this issue.

  14. Thank you very very much dear Evan, that you asure us with this SpiritView so lovingly, that we are abundantly supplied m by our Father-Mother God whatever we need. Our real needs are totally spiritual, and God knows them, actually before we know it. That is wonderfully comforting!♡
Thank you all for the lively commentations and for Angie’s link to the inspiring article♡

  15. Thank you, Evan, for being a light that God shines through to help us see the truths which are revealed to those who wait for the full appearance of Christ. God bless all of the writers who share in this abundant bounty of good.
Thanksgiving is every day, every hour, every minute, every second, eternally, which Mrs. Eddy explains, in our textbook, Science and Health with Key to The Scriptures, that, “Time is no part of”.
In acknowledging what God has already given me, I am thankful.
    et.
